Thanks so much, I finally figured out what you were alluding to...found it. And the 11-day May 2017 itineraries don't work for me...well, that puts an end to that!
What I realized earlier is that they are more like 9 days - the site counts days for flying in and out. Don't know if a 9 day would work better, but thought I'd point that out. Thought the cruise I wanted was 9 days, then realized it was shorter just looking at the cruise days.

Hate to say it but the Yacht Club area may only be the very front section where you see the blue deck chairs. I think I see a partition separating it from the cabana area aft of it.
Yikes, that's what I was afraid of. After being diagnosed with Melanoma last year I'm always seeking shade now and it doesn't look like the YC area will have any. :( Hopefully some Cabana's or shell chairs (not sure what they are called) will end up there.

I'm new to MSC and the Yacht Club and looking at the models (thanks so much for posting) it brought up a question. Is it just the very front of the ship that is the YC area? The area just behind it (with covered areas) would be for the general public?
Thanks!

Just been looking at the UK website and noticed a change in Category for the Suites with a whirlpool, they are now classed as Aurea SJ3 Whirlpool Suite (previous SE3) those are the ones on the angled forward and aft parts of the ship shown in Red.
The YC and Fantastica Suites show as sold out, the S3 Aurea still only show Deck 9 and non for the Aft.
Link to UK site shows New cabin renderings, the Aurea S3 is a Grand Suite 58 Sq Metre plus Deck 9 - 21 Sq M balcony., notice the small cubicle on the outside balcony.

Thanks so much for posting the update. Nice to see drawings finally attached with each category. And I agree - would be nice if they would just list the decks as well.

This is an absolutely amazing review! I'm loving all the details of the restaurants and decks. Thanks for taking all the time to do this. Can't wait until I can sail on the Getaway next year!

Yes - please do come back and update us. I'm in an AFT on deck 11 - wanted more space and hopefully will not regret being in the Haven. I'm thinking the sitting and having drinks with friends on the big balcony will be all worth it! :)

Thank you all for letting me know not to worry. One thing I can check off my list! I appreciate it. :)

Hi all,
I wanted to check with people who have done this. We upgraded our cabin 11 days before sailing (we sail this weekend.) I know I was past the luggage tag mailer (we are in a suite) but when I went to print our new tags, it still has our old cabin on it. Is it once they are issued, they don't change? Or do I need to get a hold of RC and have them update it. I know in my cruise documents, the luggage tag is still the same as well. My set sail pass is correct. Should I be worried?
Thanks!

We were on the Oasis last year as our second cruise. Our first was the Disney Dream. We thought the Oasis had a lot more activities and for the adults, there was always something going on into the wee hours of the morning. Disney seemed to shut down not long after midnight.
I forced DH to get a suite as I thought the balcony cabins on Oasis were tiny compared to our regular balcony cabin on the Dream.
Service was close, but not sure if that was because we were in a suite or not. Our cabin attendant on the Dream was adequate, but barely even met him. Definitely did not live up to our expectations. LOVED our ones on the Oasis. Waiters were great in both, but overall service with other parts (guest services, photos, etc) I give the edge to Disney.
The food - Disney won hands down. On the Oasis there was even one night in the MDR where the food was just unedible and unrecognizable. The pay restaurants were good, and 150 CP was amazing, but the MDR was not even close to what we ate on the Dream (even for breakfast or lunch.) The one thing that kept us going food wise was the roast beef sandwiches in the Park Cafe...those were great!! I really really hope the food was a fluke, and is much better on our upcoming Rhapsody cruise or DH has already said he may be done with Royal.
Both cruises were without kids, so I can't address that. I think you will enjoy the Allure, I know I did enjoy the Oasis and would like to even try the Allure. I'll just stick to the pay restaurants and the Park Cafe for food! :D

Thanks all, I think I'll just hang tight so we can have the extra OBC. Sounds like we should be good!

We have a cruise on May 23rd. Am I cutting it to close if I don't redeem for OBC until the end of April? Trying to get to that last $50 worth of points in there.
And thanks to all about the heads up about it possibly not showing up until the second day or so.
Thanks!

Thanks all, looks like we may be going on it then. It was just the two of us in our suite, but enjoy traveling with friends. Thanks again!

Hi all,
We may cancel our Alaskan cruise as the people we were traveling with are dropping and it's just not one we wanted to do by ourselves. We are still within the lose only the deposit phase, but I'm confused. We were in a suite. All our paperwork says lose $250 Deposit Amount on it if we cancel between 74-57 days. I thought our deposit was $1,000 which may make me think again.
Any insight - is the paperwork just wrong?
Thanks!

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the order stayed the same season to season anyway. I'm an uber planner and was trying to figure out which nights we wanted to eat in the specialty restaurants.

Is that the same deck plan as Grandeur? If so, I'll let you know about noise level in our Deck 8 Grand Suite when we get back in a couple weeks, if that is any help.:)
ShakyBeef, did you end up having any issues with noise in your Grand Suite? I know it's a different ship, but we have one booked on the Rhapsody.
Thanks!

Just wondered if anyone knew what the menu order in the MDR was on the Rhapsody Alaskan cruises. Trying to plan out when to eat at the specialty restaurants as there were a couple menus I really didn't like last year on the Oasis.
Thanks!
-
Looking forward to the rest of your report. We are doing the same cruise on Rhapsody in May and I'm trying to learn all I can.
-
Thank you for your review. Even though we are not sailing until next year on the Pearl/Alaska, I love reading everything about the ship.
-
Thank you for posting these. We are on a Western sailing very soon and it looks like the Frank Valli tribute group is gone. Now I plan around when I thought we'd go see them.

I know you are getting ready for your surgery, and I accidentally posted the below in another thread. I had wondered what had happened to my post!
I have had a lot of issues with my sinuses for years so you have my sympathies. I made the mistake last year of getting on a plane (I didn't realize how bad they were that day) and I paid for it.
Have you ever been tested for allergies? I started allergy shots a couple years ago and they really have reduced my sinus infections...my allergies (pollen, grass) would lead to the infections. Hopefully I only have to take them for a few more months.
This day by day review is great. I'm trying to get DH to read a few reviews before we set foot on the Oasis next month. Afterall, I'm going to need him to get me around the ship since I'll be lost every other minute. :D

Was this one meant for the Middle Age Drama Queen and her sinus issues? If so, wrong thread:)
EEK  - that's what I get for having multiple tabs open. I had wondered what happened to my post. So sorry about that!
I think I mentioned, but I followed yours closely as well as we are on the Oasis Western next month. I really appreciate all the details and menus. Definitely helps with planning.

Thanks for your review! We had a GS booked in April and then prices tumbled for the CL, right before final payment. So for an extra $100 total we were able to upgrade to an ocean view CL. A view of the sports court would have saved us a few hundred, but I wanted that ocean view.
I have photos of the Crown Loft in both my Allure and Oasis photos in the link below. Thanks for the photos! Can't wait to see ours next month.

So glad you are back, as I can't wait to hear about all the details while I get ready for our April Oasis cruise.

Great start! We are doing the same itinerary in April, so I'm looking forward to hearing all about you trip.

That's what I'm hoping. Wanted a Grand Suite on Anthem, but no way I can justify 6200 for it. We are going with friends so I did want to book something so I booked a Spa Jr. Suite and hoping prices fall even for that, but at least I'm ok if they don't.
