For our upcoming October cruise in Japan from Boston, we we only offered one flight, coach to Honolulu and business to Tokyo. For a up charge of $1000. There was a $3000 up charge for the non-stop. That would have been equivalent to the retail pricing. We took the credit and booked using our Amex Platinum card. It worked out to be only a few hundred dollars differential. We were told there isn’t much demand between Boston and Tokyo. Go figure.

We are traveling on our first Regent cruise in October to Japan. On the day we were eligible. To book air, our TA contacted the travel desk and the only outbound flight we were offered from Boston was coach to Honolulu and business to Tokyo on Hawaiian. Not acceptable. Since I have an Amex platinum card, I checked them and their price for a non stop was $500 more than the air credit and a significant savings over the retail price. We took the air credit.

We spent the day in Seward after our cruise and took the evening train to Anchorage and spent the night there. The train ride was beautiful and both of us could see the scenery.

We are avid big cruisers and have sailed on Azamara and loved the cruise. Staff was excellent and we especially loved the care they took knowing about my celiac disease. We decided to try Regent this fall because when I added up the cost for a standard suite plus air plus tours plus Tokyo stay, Azamara turned out to be more expensive than Regent. Therefore, it was a no brainer for us. We are hoping that they get some of the Explorer issues ironed out by the time we get there but are going with an open mind and know that the world has changed since pre-Covid.

First time on Regent for us and not impressed. For our Tokyo trip in October, we tried to deviate and the only flight they were offering us was a flight from Boston to Honolulu coach) and Honolulu to Tokyo. When our travel agent called them back the deviation fee had gone up to $3000. We checked Amex Platinum and found the non-stop for around $250 per ticket over the credit. JAL had the flight for $10,000 per ticket. We took the credit and booked with Amex. Nice thing about it was, we also got our seat assignments. We have been assured that Regent will pick us up at the airport since we are doing the 3 day pre-cruise tour. Fingers crossed.

On another note, we recently used Amex platinum international air benefit to book our non stop flight to Japan from the east coast. Price was about $2000 less than the air deviation cost with the air credit. In addition, we are ticketed and got to pick seats right away.

Last Saturday and yesterday it appears that they were doing some maintenance on the account side.. It would have been nice if they had posted something to let people know and how long it would be out. We were concerned about our account last week so I knew it workable ultimately come back yesterday.

She’ll, we just booked our June 2020 cruise and would be delighted to receive any referral coupons. We are two couples. Address is gefmey@gmaildotcom

Thanks so much for your reply. Cruise is on Quest soo no problem there. However, $8.00 for Nespresso, ouch!
-
My husband only drinks Nespresso coffee and while the Indulgence package is attractive we are not sure we will use the $700 shore excursion amount. If we decide to choose this package can we apply shore excursion money to increased spa or dining option? If we can’t, and decide not to buy the Ultimate beverage package, does anyone know the individual cost of Nespresso drinks? As you might surmise, we will be on our first Azamara Cruise this year. Thank you.

I have this same question. I'm in the same situation, Diamond on RCCL. It is not showing the proper tier on Azamara, even though it shows my C&A number.
I also have a problem with matching status not being correct. I reported it and they say they are working on it but have no timetable as to when it will be fixed

Not that it matters but, Yacht hotel was owned by Barbara Hutton who was a Woolworth heiress and niece of EF Hutton. She was once married to Cary Grant. It is a great place to stay. I also have stayed at the Sheraton many times and it does have a great location. Their club rooms are wonderful and many have a balcony overlooking the water and Old Town. Sheratons in Europe are very different than US.
-
We cruised this past May and stopped at both locations. We liked both stops. Sitka has wonderful history and you can learn about the Russian influence and US purchase. We also had some of the best food of the trip at a food truck. Icy Strait point is home to the village of Hoonah which is a true Alaskan native town. There are also a lot of water activities there and this was the best place to see whales. In fact, one came right up to the ship. It would be very hard for me to choose.

We were on the First cruise out of dry dock and for the most part had a great time. Our biggest disappointment was Sushi on 5. We only went because we had purchased a 3 dinner package that was quit reasonable. We had booked a table for 8 and when we arrived there were two four tops. The Maitre D was extremely rude and said he told not us that he could not do a table for 8 a9ait Eula have been very easy to push them together. I am glute free and it took them 20 minutes to find the GF soy sauce, The waiter was poorly trained and not vey accommodating. For several in our group, this was their first cruise and I don't think they will be back. we also found that there were a lot of staff members who were uninformed. AHowever, we all loved Cafe aaAl Bacio and found ourselves there several times a day. The. Classic drink package works well for all of us and we found all bartenders and swine stewards most accommodating. MDR staff was top noth, We loved the CC MDR lunch but the other amenities were a yawn. Antwan, my husband who hates buffets, loved the lox, herring and waffles at breakfast and enjoyed the lunch offerings.,

what is procedure for checking in at Canada place? Do you check in or sea pass first and then go through immigration and customs?
-
I have seen several threads that mention a special MDR lunch for CC passengers on boarding day. Does anyone know if this is fleet wide, a pilot or at the discretion of the ship's crew. It sounds like a nice perk. We are on the Milly May 12 to Alaska and would like to find out if this is going to take place. Thanks.

My sister and I both tried to use for departure today. she was flying Southwest and received boarding pass etc. I was told they were unable to print my luggage tags so had to schlep my bags to airport. Oh well I was flying USAIR, Met a couple at the airport. His did not work while his wife's did. Go figure.

We had a cabin on deck 3, on the Allure last December and thought it was lovely. There is no entrance to the Ice Rink, Shows or any other venue from deck 3 except the dining room. You have to go to deck 4 to get to the Ice Rink, etc. We heard no noise from the casino. The only traffic you might get on deck 3 is if someone is using the conference center. There was some activity there, but rarely. The elevators came to rest on deck 3... so we rarely waiting for an elevator. There is some traffic on shore days as deck 2 is used for debarking... but that was minimal. Most got off the elevator on 3 and took the stairs/escalator down. It is well marked and staff assist. We ran into the CD and Hotel Director a lot... offices for the hotel are on deck 3. I think it is a great place for a cabin... quiet... and rarely saw anyone in the hallway.
Thanks for sharing. We have an ocean view in a few weeks on deck 3 and I was a bit apprehensive.

i had an open NC obc and had to sign a paper transferring it to a TA before she was able to use it and we were actually part of an agency group booking. Perhaps that is why you couldn't use it

when i spoke to C&A about a similar issue, the agent told me my reservation was locked and asked if I was "in it". She asked me to close out and wait a few minutes until she could open it up. After about 5 minutes of chatting, she was able to get in and answer the questions that i had.

I booked the Chef's table for the first night of my Allure cruise 8/31. We were told the 20% OBC would be added to any others that we had and that it can be used just like any other one. I can't see how they can distinguish them I think that it is totally subject to interpretation and will let everyone know when we get back. I would love to hear from someone beforehand who did the same.

Hi, I was able to book by calling RCI directly. Since we booked the first night, I was assured that we would get the 20% first night OBC
-

Gluten Free Options?
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Posted
We recently took our first Regent cruise and once we realized the drill, we had no issues. You just have to ask. We were accidentally modated and n every restaurant and as the cruise progressed, the staff got to know us. Make sure you have gluten free in your profile and meet the Maitre’d in Compass Rose. Each evening you will receive the next days menu n your cabin including any specialty restaurant you have booked. You them turn it in at the Restaurant reservation dest the next morning. Both Coffee connection can bring gf muffins if you ask and afternoon tea has gf scones available. At the breakfast buffet, there was gf pancakes, waffles, bread and made to order omrlets. The only area where we had an issue was the Pool grill where there was a long wait for Gf Pizza and gf rolls. After a few days, most of the wait staff knew us.
