  1. Hi! I am on the Breakaway in October and we dock at 4PM and depart at 11:59PM. I've searched and searched for things to do. I've just come to the conclusion that it will just be a port day for us. Walk around and visit shops, eat somewhere and just relax. I just hate it for my boyfriend because he's never been. Next time! :) I've been during the day and also wish we were docking earlier. BUT, I'll take whatever time as long as I won't be at work. LOL!

Soon enough, we were right along side the aging Carnival vessel. The passengers on board leered over at the magnificent Norwegian Breakaway, wishing they were sailing her, instead of the ship they were currently standing on... (I'm not knocking CCL. I enjoy sailing with them, just on their newer, larger ships)

The sun was rising quickly, and it was time to get ready for my adventure to the East side of Cozumel, which was described in an earlier chapter, though I secretly would not mind reliving the entire day...

I have pictures in 2017 while I was on the Escape next to this same ship. For a long time I stood there and watched (and took pictures) of how everyone on the ship was admiring the Escape. A couple stopped to look and then the boyfriend/husband just left her. LOL!

They did say I could just complete the check in at the pier.

When do you set sail? I don't sail until October so I do have a little time, but I want to check in now. Lol. We should be able to check in now...Obviously it's something with their system if people are having the issues. Like you, I have tried everything. It's a bit frustrating honestly.

Did they ever get it fixed for you?

Nope. Still the same issues. I'd hate it if I was leaving soon. I'd REALLY be stressing out. Everytime I post on their FB page they never respond. I am like you and have tried everything and called. Going on 2 weeks for me. I mean obviously it's an issue if people are still experiencing the same thing.

  5. I just got off the phone with NCL. They are aware of the problem. He tried to do check in also and received the same error message. He did say that many people have called in today to advise them of this issue and are still trying to fix it. I gave my email and once it's fixed, they will email me and let me know. Hope this helps.

Then I checked out the main pool area, which features another large smoking area. I think the Breakaway has the most smoking zones than any other NCL ship. The casino also reeks badly of cigarettes.

Putting the smoking area right there was one of the stupidest things NCL ever did..Getaway has it too.. As far as H20 that entire bar and the side of it is smoking. Gag....Lol. I hate smoke. But, it won't make or break my cruise come October. Being that the casino reeks of the smell (You are not the first person I've heard say that about Breakaway) this might keep me away from playing the machines. It wasn't bad at all on Escape.

  7. It's looking awesome!!!! Thanks for posting these pictures so far!!! I have really enjoyed your review!! I've kept this tab opened on my computer and I keep refreshing! Haha...(I have it bad I'd say!) 241 more days for me!!!!!!

I haven't went back and read your other reviews yet, but have you received VIBE passes before? If so, how do you like it? I'm thinking about making a run for them in October but I've heard/read mixed reviews on them.

  8. Hi Sid_9169! First time follower of yours and I'm super excited! I'm from Athens so not too far away! I will be on the Breakaway October 6th and I can't wait! I have searched many times for Breakaway "live" reviews so when I stumbled upon your review I couldn't contain myself! Even though it won't be a live live review, I'm still super stoked about following along!

What is your itinerary and what do you have planned for the islands?

Anyways, thanks for taking time out of your days to report back to us! I look forward to your future posts!

  9. Hi. I'm a little late responding (not sure if you've already booked) but I just came up on your thread. In 2017 I stayed here 1 night-pre cruise and I can't say enough good things about this hotel. We had a bay view room and we enjoyed the balcony SO much! It was clean and the marble flooring was a great addition. We walked to Publix a couple of times and also did JetBoat Miami which just so happened to be right infront of the hotel! (Facing the bay)

Anyways, I booked it again for my cruise this October. I just wish the price would decrease. $270 (for me) is a bit much for 1 night but I enjoyed it so much I don't want to stay anywhere else. LOL! I guess you can say I'm a bit spoiled by it. Either way, enjoy your trip.

  10. I've been to San Juan before but during the day time and I loved it. October I will be going on the Breakaway and we have a night stop there...I am excited about going back, but I do wish it was during the day. I feel like there's more to do. So, I've been on a search for things to do. I do want to eat dinner there, I don't want that to be the only thing I do. And I'm not a drinker either. I am sure we will figure it out..Even if we walk the streets lol

Exactly as SNJCruisers stated above. The uproar here is because NCL has just increased the prices of a lot of the wines and spirits by quite a bit. Drinks that were previously included are now an extra charge - to the point where you could buy a bottle of wine or spirit for what they charge per drink. Or less. If you don't have top shelf taste, and/or aren't picky on your wine, you should be fine.

Thanks so much for your response. I started reading and after page like 13 I said let me just ask my question. LOL!!!! Thanks again!
