  1. i would like to address the staff in a little more detail. Last night i had dinner with harry and joyce, tallcva, and we discussed the staff. Harry and joyce are diamond plus and have been on 89 cruises, so i think they qualify as experienced cruisers. Any who, we were all in agreement at how spectacular the crew has been. So, apparently the ship did a 180. At least that is the consensus of gold and diamond plus cruisers. :d

    like! :)

  2. Just what I was going to suggest. I'm both fluffy and decidedly un-limber due to arthritis, so I've been using this for the last couple of years.

Off topic, but still to do with cream depilatories: has anyone ever used this on their husband to get rid of ugly back hair? I'm seriously considering it. I hate spreading sunscreen on that hairy back of his.

I saw the guys on a reality tv show use this for chest , legs and back.

  3. Possibly people are asking about the policy when they are booking and stating that the only reason that they had a balcony before was because they smoked and now they can't, they won't pay the extra... Just a thought.

    Jo :)

EDIT: Oops, just seen post #7 so it is as I thought.

soi I guess now the non=smokers will pay extra to have a balcony with no smoke blowing in their face?

  4. Not this event, but a few years ago on an RCCL ship, Serenade actually, someone jumped from the ship. We were on deck 10, he jumped from 12 I believe. There were a number of life rings thrown into the water and a small skiff was sent out almost immediately.

We heard him from our balcony yelling - help me, help me. He was the luckiest person in the world that night because they were able to fish him out. We saw him and his wife removed from the ship first thing the next morning (St. Thomas).

My point, yes they can stop and yes they can get lights on quickly and once in awhile they can save a life.

    good post..thank you

  5. I was on the Dec. 12 sailing. Some people will say they loved it and some hated it.

I did not feel the ship, food, entertainment or staff was up to par. You may get a great stateroom attendant. I feel the staff does not make an effort any longer since they have their gratuities automatically paid. Our stateroom attendant was pretty bad. Great personality and sweet, but we had to ask him for shampoo/conditioner, a coffee maker for the JS. It was all just weird. Then again, some things may have been different because the ship was being sanitized for many days after we boarded.

I loved sailing the southern Caribbean, although they did remove St. Lucia off the itinerary. Most of us found out from cruise critic that it was replaced with Labadee as they didn't email us. The weather was great. the cruise director was pretty good towards the end of the cruise when he finally got some Christmas spirit. We sang Christmas carols the last night and saw a decent Christmas show.

If its the itinerary, I think I would fly to San Juan and board whatever Royal ship is doing the southern Caribbean from there.

hi Linda, we aare going out on the Legend feb 14th... I am pretty sure we are in the same stateroom you were in..corner aft 8580? I have read that you weren't very happy with it which makes me sad. 1st aft stateroom and e thought we were going to have a big balcony. ell anyway..what was the stateroom attendants name? I ant to make sure if we have th sme one tht e start asking for whaat we need in thee beginning. thank you so much. we will be going on the fos in august and we have a corner aft on deck 7 so all is good.

  6. I believe you need to do a search back a bit. There are a few people that did cancel numerous cruises because of this policy. I will not put a link to their posts out of respect.

are they still posting and worrying about it? I am not looking to read about people complaining about the new policy, but as I said I do see and read a lot from non-smokers. but thank you.
