  1. Bearing in mind you haven't said which ship your on I'm going to guess...........small.

He has been giving the cabin measurements on the Divina. That is why i address it to him.

  2. Hello i sailed the MSC Divina December 7, 2013 in a very small inside cabin 138 sq feet... In my room when you entered, i had the closet and a set of drawers inside the closet....to the left was the bathroom.... past the closet on the left was a small vanity area with a mirror....past the bathroom on the cady corner wall was the mini fridge and on to of that was the TV....center of the room was the queen size bed with two night stands...and in back of the bed was a wall to wall mirror....to make the room look larger than it actually is.... My cruise was for only 3 nights...and went on the ship to see how she was, as i am sailing her again in October of this year...

All in all, i found the room to be quite nice for one person...and one person only....everything was brand new furnishings all to my likings... As far as the ship itself, it is absolutely gorgeous, and stunning....entertainment top notch, and the food excellent....

Thanks travelady we decided to go with 11274 which is 169 sq ft.

  3. You stated that you stayed in an inside room and had plenty of storage space for 2 weeks, do you remember if it was the 138 sq ft room ? do you remember your room #. Thanks i am just trying to decide if i should stay with 11196 or move to 11274 which is bigger 167sq ft but its way in the back of the ship. Thanks.

  4. You are correct, there is plenty of storage room!

We had enough for 14 days worth of clothes for 2!

Thanks American Bear , were you in the smaller of the inside rooms 138 sq ft ? What room # were you in. I booked 11196 and was thinking of moving to 11274 which is 167 sq ft but im not so sure of the location [back]. thanks for any input.

  5. Yes, there was a cabinet next to the closets. It had the fridge in the bottom. The safe was also in that cabinet. Our cabin may have been a different config than others. We did not have a sofa or a pull down bed. It was strictly for 2 passengers. It was on Deck 10, cabin 10211. We actually got upgraded from an outside.

Oh, another thing.... the A/C was awesome in the cabin. I think this was the first time we actually turned it down because it was to cold in the cabin. Never had that on our other cruises.

The shower door is an actual door.... not a pesky curtain :-)

    Thanks so much.

  6. Take a look. You only get 2 small closets and one is useless because the refrigerator and safe are located at the bottom. There's not even room for a tee shirt to hang:

So you really have 1 closet and for a couple to share is ridiculous. And notice how thick the hangers are. That reduces the amount of clothes you can hang up.

Moving on, you get 1 cupboard with drawers. Take a look. It's only wide as a shoe which is about 12". So good luck storing much in those too:

Living out of a suitcase is no way to cruise and there isn't much room in a regular sized ocean view cabin to do that. MSC's diagram on their website shows a sofa but that is misleading. The foot of the beds are next to the cupboard and vanity table. You can see the duvet on the bed virtually touching the cupboard. Very cramped.

MSC has made their cabins as small as possible to fit more cabins which sacrifices passenger comfort in order for them to increase revenue. MSC is not my cruiseline of choice and I doubt I'd ever sail with them again. And not just because of the cabins.

That is not a fridge where your t shirt is hanging!!!

  7. Can anyone that has stayed on the small 138 sq ft inside room confirm that the fridge is inside the closet and that there is only 1 closet for hanging. Just read that in a review from cruise pup. Thanks for any info.

  8. Your last paragraph is totally un called for, i could see you are having a lousy cruise now that the crew is being brainwashed to sail out of Miami. Maybe you should stick to sailing out of the UK where you will feel more at home and not have to come to Miami on an AMERICANISED ship.

    Very well stated.

  9. My DH went on the Breeze in April with DD's and loved it. So, the two of us went on the 9/8 sailing, just off today. What a change since April. First of all, before going I had read on this message board about a sewage smell in the aft part of the ship. Since our cabin was in the aft, I called Carnival to inquire about this and was assured the problem was fixed. Not so. I could smell it as soon as we got in the hall and worse in our cabin (7440)

Called guest services and they said they would send someone up to check. Well, no one came so we went out for lunch and to explore. After lifeboat drill, I told DH it smelled awful in here. (had already unpacked because we were told ship was sold out) so we went down to guest services to talk in person. They went up to the cabin and agreed with us and said they could move us to 9220, in front of ship. Great!

After the repacking and then unpacking again we set out to enjoy the ship.

Dinner was great on service, lacking in food. DH said it was much changed from April. Nothing was bad, just nothing was GOOD. This trend continued every day. Buffet was barely edible, scrambled eggs looked like scrambled eggs, but had 0 flavor. Bread and rolls looked good, but weren't. And so it went every where ever we ate.

The ship's windows were caked in salt and we could barely see out of them. Especially in the dining room. They have built in sprinklers to wash them but apparently never use them. I wonder why?

The shows have gone from a big production cast in April to 6 people now. Set designs now are all lighting with animated character's singing. Not enjoyable.

After returning this morning a friend told me about the new 110 percent money back guarantee, I called Carnival. Lady listened to me and said, " well, you would have had to get off the ship to qualify, and since you didn't, nothing we can do" How could I know about this when it just started???? Gee, I thought they would like to know, but I guess not.

I know many recent cruisers rave about Carnival, and I respect their opinions. I just didn't like it. For the record, I am not new to cruising, having over 40 cruises under my belt, but this was just my second on Carnival.

Someone just wrote a review and they spent alot of time in the aft of the ship and never smelled the sewage smell at all.

  10. Ok lets analyze this Mom says:

1- Staff much better in Allure (but could this be because the staff is still new on this ship and getting to know things?)

    2- Breakaway stunning

    3- Food comparable

    4- Prefer Breakaway Layout better

To sum this up, I have to say they are even. (50%/50%)

But which one does she prefer when it comes to the entertainment, activities?

There is no comparison Allure wins by a mile.

  11. A hot day. A humid day. A quiet day. We tried going out.

Actually, we thought about going out. It was and still is brutally hot, and there’s really nothing out there for us. We have enough wine, we have enough snackies and we have enough Pepsi. We did watch that morning documentary about Changing Seas. Very interesting. We learned all about Lion Fish and the fact that they are predators. Went out for 3 seconds to see if we could tolerate watching the movie on MUTS. Uh uh. No go.

Our cabin is large, the sofa is comfy and so we spent the day indoors reading. And eating chocolate. Can only blame ourselves, since we bought it at Trader Joe’s. Sandra, we love this cabin, and you won't be sorry with it.

It’s now shortly after 4:00 and Mike wants to see Argo again. The first showing is at 5:30, so dinner tonight will be late. If at all.

Isn’t it amazing how I can put together so many sentences while saying nothing?

And since there is no more nothing, I will see you all tomorrow.

    ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz!!!

  12. Yeah I think it's the ferry.

You know the funny thing is that I had to google "fedora" lol, yes I LOVE THEM! my bf says I look pretentious :D

These are the only two that I have and I did not buy more in the trip.

I used the blue one mostly because it's cool and the air goes through it easy. The other one I used at night.

I know, I realized that earlier today, I was pretty bummed out as well. But there will other in the future :)

Great review but its just strange that you take pictures of your hats but never of you in them, wierd!!!!
