  1. Good morning, all. With nine o'clock seeing 40 degrees, I do think about how warm a cruise would be right now. But a friend came over yesterday and we caught up on all that happened while I was out on the South Pacific cruise. We are checking out the best parking and viewing spot for the Christmas parade on the 22nd. I sure hope the weather warms a bit.  I feel like I fit the jokes about Florida people and cold, what used to be a great sunny day in Oregon is now a freezing day to stay in at 60 degrees. It doesn't take long to think 60 degrees feels cold, only about a year and a half.  Today is bright and sunny.  Hope everyone on the care list knows they are in our prayers and all on the celebration list know we are celebrating in their joy. And to all who make this a great place, thanks.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving Daily family.  Thank you to all who wished me a welcome home.  It felt good to know I was missed. While the airport didn't seem much busier than normal yesterday, all flights were full with a waitlist.  There was a few more babies crying but the worst part was the waiting. They lost a pilot on one flight and we waited close to two hours for another to show but we were all grateful that we continued the flight and all got home. I left the ship at 8am just after the ship was cleared and didn't pull into my driveway until after 11pm.  It was good to be home. I will have dinner at my youngest son's house at four but woke early to just do little jobs around the house. For some reason I had to make my own coffee and so far no one has been in to straighten my bed. We will have a high of only 58 today which is the coldest day in two months for me but it is good to be home.  Again, I hope all have a great holiday.

@1ANGELCAT Happy 70th Birthday!  I’m right behind you in a year and 7 months. Crazy because I don’t know how that happened!

    Pennie @Nickelpenny, Bon Voyage!  Enjoy!

    Linda @lindaler, Welcome Home!

Thank you. I am sitting at the airport with about twelve hours before I reach home. I am looking forward to seeing my family and my home. My youngest built me a kayak ramp while I was gone. It will be nice for launching from my backyard. I am wishing a safe and happy holiday weekend to all.

  4. Beautiful day here. Cool in the morning and will warm to 90 this afternoon. ONE more sleep before I fly out of Mobile to San Diego. This will be a long day. All the chores are done and plants are taken care of. I had dinner at a new place last night with my sons and will talk to my daughter tomorrow before I head to the airport. Thanks for the well wishes. I really hope it's a peaceful trip. If the internet is as good as some are saying I should be able to check in fairly often.

  5. Good morning all. Three more sleeps before I start my journey.  I am now doubting all that I packed.  Do I need something else, should I repack and add this or take out this? I know I'm fine but now my mind has time to dwell on it. I hope that the government does not shut down but even if they do I should be fine.  I will just enjoy not having to worry about politics for the time I'm gone.  I look forward to finding out how a legendary journey differs from a grand voyage.

  6. Good morning everyone. It is slightly cooler today.  I have my doors open and it is still below 80.  I thought I had remembered everything but then this morning I remembered about lanyards for the room card. I bought a package for the SA cruise and only used two out of the 10. So my project for today is to remember where I put the package of lanyards. At my age that may be an all day job. I am sure I put them somewhere logical and safe but finding that place will be a challenge.

Linda @lindaler I'm glad you are ready to go.  No last minute packing will ease the stress of travel some.  You are on the South Pacific cruise, correct?  I seem to know some relatives that will be on that cruise.  They also happen to be booked on two 42 day cruises next year that DH and I have booked.  Oh dear, this is not going to work out well.  We try to avoid them so that won't be easy for all that time.🙁

Yes, that is the cruise I plan to be on. I heard that Frank Shumand the rug day, drink guy will be on it too as well as Bill and Mary Ann @WCB. I always look at the drinks Frank publishes and follow all of Mary Ann's Blogs. Wish you guys were on it too.

  8. Happy Sunday everyone.  Thanks Rich and all who are so good about posting while most of us miss days. I am packed with nothing to do now. I leave seven days from today when I fly out to San Diego. It's like waiting for Christmas or your birthday when you were a kid. I get to do one more grocery shopping trip to make sure things are in the freezer for when I get home. I need to come up with a snack to take on the plane. I used to make a PB&J but hear that they will confiscate it because of the peanuts. I hope everyone has a good day. It just warmed up enough here that I had to close the windows as the AC came on. It should only get up to 90 today so a cooler fall day.

I realized this morning that I have very few "free" days until I fly out Sept 27th.  I need to get my derriere in gear.

Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers to those celebrating.

    Have a great day everyone

I seem to be behind on getting ready too. I finally have my suitcase out and most clothes in it but need to get busy. I fly out on Oct. 1.  Thoughts and prayers for those on the care list and those in the path of the storm. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Today is International Literacy Day

I had a really sweet cleaning lady come by and help with my floors today. While working she was asking all kinds of questions about my travel. She admitted that she never learned to read. That caught me by surprise. I am sure a big part of my life would be missing if I didn't read. I love books. One of my first jobs was in a library and I got in trouble for taking too long to check in books but I couldn't resist reading the dustjackets on all the books. On my last cruise I went through about 40 books over the 90 days. I love going around the ship and reading all the information under the pieces of art and displays. It is so interesting.
