  1. Great thanks

    Have you got kids?

Yes. We are traveling with our 8 month old daughter. We are bringing her car seat and have booked her a seat for it on the plane and been assured it can be installed in the celebrity transfer from Heathrow to Southampton.

I also plan to take the carseat ashore for excursions. We have not booked any through Celebrity, since in my experience, the transportation does not meet my security requirements and a carseat can't be installed.

But how it all goes ---> Lets see after our cruise :)

  2. Hi Mistymya,

Unfortunately, it looks it will not be offered on your sailing. Acccording to the document I'm viewing, the Suite Class amenities will debut on Equinox on the April 6, 2015 sailing.

Here's a list for all ships. Note: the following dates can always change. Hope this is helpful !

Thank you Host Andy. I thought it might be so. I´m not going myself, and it had to be that specific week because of easter holiday in schools here in Norway.

They are also completely unaware of these new things, so i will put together the info based on the situation today.

We (husband, myself and our daughter) set sail on Eclipse in October :D

  3. Hi,

A party of four in my family are going on the Equinox 27th of March, and has asked me to put together some info for them as it is their first Celebrity Cruise.

I have read up on the new suite benefits (they are in a Sky Suite) that are coming as of April, and I started wondering if this applies for their cruise? Or will the changes happen on the next Equinox sailing?

Appreciate any insight on this :)

  4. Hi Mistymya,

I have been looking for the Celebrity shuttle from Heathrow to Southampton.

As far as I can see there doesn't seem to be one.

Have a look at this link

    http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_southampton.htm

    Heathrow

    Southampton is approx 65 miles.

I would imagine that a coach would be provided by Celebrity if you booked transportation.

Celebrity do not seem to pass out much information.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you for sharing, Ashipper.

I think a swedish rep that is helping me, might figure it out, but maybe i will just bring the carseat and demand a solution. They don't selen to be Good at figuring things out!

  5. You are welcome. There was an individual counter for each of the major cruise lines. The Celebrity one was located at the far end right near a glass wall with an exit. We had not pre booked anything, but the service was amazing and we are using the shuttle service from Heathrow to Southampton i October.

As you appear to be British... Do you have any insight of the Celebrity shuttle from Heathrow to Southampton? This will be our daughters first cruise, and i am trying to figure out if its possible to mount our carseat? I have received many different answers from celebrity :P

  6. We call it "The view lottery"!

Sometimes you win. And sometimes you loose. And sometimes you wake up to a beautiful view and think you have won, but then you go up on the promenade deck before breakfast and realize that you actually lost. Or sometimes the view is even worse on the other side - so when you think you have lost, you actually won :P

Well... most ports we have been to is good at any angle, and just by being on the cruise we feel like we have won! :D

  7. I would put a special request for gluten free objects on The booking. This is to ensure that they have enough supplies for everyone that needs gluten free meals. I usually put my lactose intolerance on The booking, and usually it means they stock lactose free milk in The cafe al bacio for example :)

  8. Thank you all for your replies. We will use the Celebrity Transfer as the convenience of not having to worry about our tons of luggage, and since we do choice air on the same day of the cruise, we just need the peace of mind.

Though it was very expensive. Actually it is 11,25% of the total cruise/airfare/transfer cost. But we did it once in Miami, and we just loved this service.

Guess we will bring the carseat then :)

I have emailed the Scandinavian office and the special needs dept. and look forward to hear if they have half as good answer as you all.

  9. I booked my mom in room 1185 on the Eclipse. When I booked it in April I saw it on the deck plans. It is supposed to be a class C3. Now I don't even see it on the deck plans. What am I missing?

Interesting. I too was unable to locate an 11-cabin number on Eclipse deck plan today. Thought it was just me...

  10. I can't comment on Eclipse but on Infinity I'm fairly certain that we were only provided with a sheet over the mattress for the crib so I would take bedding for your baby. I took my own anyway as I thought the smell and feel of it might settle my LO better (it seemed to work ok!).

Celebrity have next to no facilities for babies and on Infinity there were only 2 changing tables on the whole ship - one in the kids club and one on the deck immediately below it so we just kept going back to our room.

The highchairs we had were the stackable wooden ones with a waist strap and were available in all venues. They didn't have a huge number of them and on a number of occasions they had to be fetched from another location.

Of course, my comments could be completely wrong for the Eclipse but I thought it might be helpful to know our experience on a Celebrity ship as I too found it difficult to find out information :) Regardless, cruising with a baby is amazing and the crew will love him/her!

Thank you for your insights. I have come to the conclusion that it seems to be only a changing table in the fun factory. I will also bring some familiar bed items for our daughter, as you mention i should be able to calm her better.

I will also bring a portable chair solution that we can attach to any normal chair as i hate to be the needy cruiser. :P

Did you try baby food onboard? I found out they can make it for lunch and dinner.

I´m looking forward on writing my review of this cruise. I will make a guide to cruising with babies on Solstice-class ships :P
