Radiance and Serenade are the 2 booking names in early October 2022 for Hawaii.

Bur Serenade appears in Europe also.

There is a recent article that advises that the municipality of Bora Bora concluded that the daily number of cruise passengers cannot exceed 1,200, effective from 1 January 2022. It also says that Transpacific turnaround ships calling at Papeete may carry up to 2,500 passengers - which is the capacity of the future cruise terminal. Stop overs by Transpacific ships calling at French Polynesia will be limited to a capacity of 3,500 passengers. Tahiti, Moorea and Raiatea will be the preferred destinations for these ships. Ships carrying more than 3,500 passengers will be refused entry as they are deemed 'unsuitable' for the destination. It does go on to say that ships of higher capacity in "technical transit" may be granted an exemption on the islands of Tahiti, Moorea and Raiatea. This may mean changes to what ships come to Australia via French Polynesia (from Hawaii) ... Miamia65, does that mean Wonder of the Seas will be delivered ahead of the revised schedule?

No I don't believe so, she started sea trials last Friday, after that we think she will be back in the shipyard for final fit out etc. Then head to China in the new year or maybe late December for a March 2022 commencement of sailings from Shanghai.

  3. Hi, Captain Charles Teige is onboard Wonder of the Seas for sea trials - 20 to 24 August. Based on previous ship builds, Captain Charles is usually the take out captain and the ship will be handed over in the near future. So we can expect that Captain Charles will remain onboard going forward. Information sourced from RCG trustworthy employee.

Radiance of the Seas and Explorer have just cancelled their upcoming dry dock. Allure went into a 58 day $125 million dry dock today, Royal just announced the Allure Amped dry dock will be cut short by 30 days and only propulsion and maintenance issues will be performed.  We are on a B2B on Allure in Oct/Nov. in the Med, some crew members report Allure will cancel Mediterranean sailings and head back home empty.

Can you add a link to the source of the announcement that radiance dry dock is cancelled

What is happening with Spectrum, are they continuing to offer the cruises to no where from Sydney for the responders? Wonder where all these ships will be docked for the next 30 days.

The Sydney port schedule has Spectrum anchored in Sydney harbour from now until 30 April 2020.

Radiance, Voyager and Ovation will be berthed at Port Kembla Australia

  6. Here in Australia we’ve had an interesting day...

P&O and Carnival suspended sailing for 30 days

Royal embarked guests on Radiance in Sydney then cancelled and is now disembarking them ... many were turned away due to no drs certification saying they were fit to travel.

Ovation left Sydney on Thursday 12th March and has nowhere to go so is returning to Australia... New Zealand has closed all ports until 30 June. South Pacific is all but closed to cruise ships.

No announcement from Royal yet about voluntarily suspending cruises here!

    Many unhappy cruisers!!

I think this is the newest one?

    TRAVEL ADVISORY UPDATE

We are reviewing the administration’s directive on European travel restrictions to understand how we will adjust operations to comply with the new requirements.  Our primary concern is the safety and welfare of our guests, and are working to minimize the impact to our guests to the greatest extent possible.

The U.S. State Department published a new travel advisory. We’ve been staying on top of the situation and had already cancelled or modified most sailings in Asia through mid-March, with no sailings departing from mainland China or Hong Kong.

U.S. guests on cruises in Asia departing before March 23, 2020 who want to change their plans will be allowed to rebook without penalty at a later date.

We are unaware of any significant travel restrictions, delays or quarantines anywhere else in the world.  Accordingly, we look forward to welcoming our guests who are booked on itineraries outside Asia onto their cruises as scheduled.

We continue to monitor the situation constantly, and news of any travel restrictions or cancelled sailings are regularly being updated.

Can you provide the link to this advisory? Is it from RCI?

Yes you will get 2 points per night and she will get her port fees and taxes back.  I just did this and just told them at the port that my husband was not coming.  We had Royal's insurance and I put in a claim.  Don't know the outcome yet as this was just two weeks ago.  I already got credited for his port fees and I got the extra points

    Thank you for replying

  10. I am cruising with my daughter in 2 weeks in a balcony and she is getting cold feet due to Coronavirus.

if I cruise solo should I just report her as a no show ? And will I get 2 points?
or do I need to advise Royal that I’m cruising solo and will this affect the price of my cruise?
