  1. I just found a way into the gift and upgrade preferences.

I have no idea if they actually get sent to RCCL or C&A or anywhere, but it is at least worth a try!

    Process:

    1) Login to your RCCL account - remember to use your email and new password.

    2) In a separate tab, go to "www.rccl.com/GiftPreferences" or "www.rccl.com/UpgradePreferences"

I used "rccl.com" and it worked for me, but you may have to use "www.royalcaribbean.com"

    3) You should then be able to change your preferences.

I was going to attach a screenshot, but can't seem to figure out how to attach an image now.

    Hope this helps some people.

I tried both sites you listed but each one keeps taking me to the new site / dashboard. I am in Australia and I also changed to the US RCI site and the same happened - keeps taking me to the new site!!!

  2. Hi Norwaylady

We are thinking about travelling to Norway next year (2018) and have a few questions about weather and road conditions from late March thru to May? Our itinerary is to fly Sydney to Oslo and spend 3 nights/4 days in Oslo, catch the train to Bergen (3 nights in Bergen), then drive or catch train to the fjords, ie. Sognefjord, Geiranger, then travel to Lom, Lillehammer, Hamar back to Oslo. Stopping and sight seeing through all the lovely places along the way.

I am wondering what the road conditions will be like at this time of year - will there be snow on the road in late March, April and May? Just trying to work out the best time for driving in Norway.

Otherwise we will leave it until Aug/Sept?

After travelling around Norway we were also thinking about catching trains or driving to Sweden (Stockholm) and Denmark (Copenhagen) - are the road conditions similar? As in is it impossible to drive through these countries in April and May?

    Thank you

  3. Hi scheat,

Bottom end cruises will take you to places like Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart and Sydney (of course). It just depends on what is in the itinerary. 14 night cruises to NZ will take you through the Sounds and major ports in NZ - the 14 night cruises are probably better if you are coming from the US.

Top End will take you to north queensland, darwin, possibly Bali, Indonesia and Perth.

Otherwise there are cruises to the South Pacific and up the Queensland coast.

What type of destinations do you prefer?

Yes you are right there is also the transpacific, re-positioing cruises on Explorer OTS or Radiance OTS. You can cruise all the way from Seattle to Sydney on Explorer (37 Nights) or Honolulu to Sydney on Radiance (18 nights) and you can do a B2B on Radiance from Seattle to Honolulu, then Honolulu to Sydney. Some prefer the Radiance cruise as it goes through French Polynesia - Moreea , Bora Bora and Tahiti.

  4. We are from Australia and DD was removed before Ovation arrived late last year.We would have loved to have tried it but .... RCI would have had a lot of complaints because Australians are not used to booking things in advance, in fact some of them aren't even aware of the need to book shows or activities in advance. There was a lot of complaints about not being able to do North Star, iFLY and other activities because they DID NOT know they had to book in advance through the cruise planner. There was also an issue with formal nights which were labelled "dress to impress" nights and the majority of passengers didn't even bother to dress up, I often saw people in the MDR at night wearing thongs which was accepted. Overall, the staff on Ovation had to accept this because they had enough problems dealing with people who didn't know they had to book things and most nights the line for MTD was very long.

This is not a criticism, just observations of the Australian market.

  5. All these poor old dudes from the Sunset Home, chatting away to each other, ignoring thread titles.

They are as likely to catch the ferry to Manly, or a Captain Cook dinner service, when we should be on Ovulation of the Seas.

You have to guide the right way, spechial treatment, red carpet square at the ready.

    ??????? Ovulation ??????? Really?

  6. Pension, what pension, no pension here - self funded retiree and indeed I spend all that on cruising. !! I could have bought 2 Winnebagos by now after 22 cruises. lol. Back to the arvo nap. I have to build my stamina for QM2. A lot of cider and red wine to be consumed thereon.

  7. We were there November 2015 and we parked our hire car just our side the gates in the University car park and there is also parking on Hunter St just around the corner. Parking meters from 8am and till around 6pm I think I've got the times right. Just google Hobart cruise terminal.

    Thank you lazy day

  8. I agree about asking the hire car company, but there is parking near the dock.

Sorry to interrupt your chatting, I hope the old people's home is looking after you all but if it was me I would be spending my pension on cruising!

Where is the parking near the Hobart dock- does anyone care to find me a map in your spare time lol?

  9. YOu will need a paper copy of your setsail as the CIA will stamp it after they check you in so that as you proceed along the way to the ship staff can see that you have actually checked in. We can print out a setsail at the pier if a guest does not have one.

Can't help you with the B2B check in as I have never done one and is handled by the ship.

    Thank you Graeme [emoji12]

  10. I just thought of another question. I was printing the Ovation set sail passes today and noticed that they have a bar code. Others who have cruised on ovation have mentioned that the people with iPads scan the barcode, ask the health question and confirm payment method and that's it.

My question is do I need a hard copy of the set sail pass if I can access the PDF version I printed on my phone? Like can they just scan the bar code on my phone?

It will save me having to take hard copies!!

Also as we are cruising B2B I don't believe we need the documents for the second cruise as this process is done onboard. I have done online check for both cruises for all travellers.

Can anyone confirm whether this is still the process - ie. I don't need the documents for the second cruise?

    Thanks

  11. As both your cruises are " coastal" and there are no Customs involved for either of them, you should be able to come and go as you please.

Thanks for the replies, we prefer to stay on the ship but I know it differs ship to ship. But we will roll with whatever happens!!!

  12. Graham

Do you also know how Ovation is dealing with back to back/consecutive cruisers?

Can we stay on the ship?

    OR

Do we have to get off and straight back on again?

    OR

Can we get off and then get back on later in the day?

Noting that Royal will have given us our new sea passes on the last day of the cruise!. We have done B2B cruises with Royal before but in the caribbean and we had to get off, no matter what!

    Thanks Aleisha

  13. I did not take any NZ cash, I drew money out of an ATM at the first port. The current exchange rate is $1.05 in our favour so any bank charges will be covered by the 5 cents difference. Just advise your bank that you will be in NZ.

I can't remember if there were ATM fees like we have here!!!
