How intriguing the responses are
On celebrity they are starting to remove the elite lounge and give out vouchers instead and it has been met so far on CC with a negative response based on the people wanting to meet other elites
yet they go to launch it on RCCL and it's met so much more positively
I wonder why
From what I can figure out is that on Celebrity you get 3 drink vouchers and that's it.
Right now on RCCL you get 3 drink vouchers plus unlimited drinks if you want to bear the masses in the Lounges.

Than you!. The answer is quite clear why it is not working and wait for the tweak............
ShipRiders-take a few seconds to think why it may not be working. Most people don't want to post for fear of the hot flame!!!;)
I have always taken a drink to dinner - are you not supposed to???? Nobody has ever stated I could not:eek:[/quoteDepends on the ship and or concierge. If we can we might if we can't we don't. No big deal
-
This sounds like a win win to me. Go to any bar for 1, 2 or 3 drinks and mix in the lounges too during happy hour. For those that might want to do this. I like my cuppa tea!
I wonder where or why it's not working on the Indy.
-
I must of missed it also.
Why the heck would they Q up when they could of wondered off to any bar with their coupons and go in there later if they wanted. Guessing a ton of them would be on MTD with the flexibility. We would have looked at the line and headed for the door, unless that was the only venue at the time.
At 5pm I am betting there were quite a few bars with very few people in them.
-
Bottom line question is:
If you have used all 3 of your drink coupons say at 6:30pm on that day in a bar, can you then go to the D or D+ lounge and get a few more drinks during happy hour gratis?

Us too Sue, Paid $50 each for a balcony upgrade from Deluxe to JS :) we weren't complaining!
Congrats. That was a good upgrade for 100.00
Out of curiosity.....did you get double points since you paid something towards your upgrade? Or is this for your next cruise?
-
Bottom line.........if your booking number hasn't changed (and it should not) then your discount should not either.
-
That is incorrect. The answer is NO. You only get double C&A points for booking a Grand Suite and above.
You need to pay double deposit for grand suite and up.
Double credits per night indeed go for a JS and up if were talking only suites here.

It would be fantastic if you could post pictures of the concierges you are talking about. I recognize the names, but cannot put a face to a lot of them.

I'm wondering if the DL will even serve drinks? I'm reading this as, if you would like to get a drink and bring it to the DL you could and sit with like minded people as someone posted. I think it could be set up like on my Brilliance cruise where the CL was open but only for 'quiet time' and coffee. Never were any drinks or evening munchies served in there.
How did celebrity do it on the TA's?? Was that lounge still serving drinks and doing vouchers??
Correct me if I am wrong. Are your saying your Brilliance cruise this year 2013 did not have cocktails in the evening in the CL?
I think these boards would have lit up like a Christmas tree if we knew this.

This was a thread from earlier this year that was just bumped. The OP has already sailed so the burial has most likely already happened.
I usually notice the dates too. I got wrapped up in it. Thanks
I removed my suggestion.

My suggestion was too late. Didn't notice date of thread.

Can you still get cash on your set sail card in the casino if needed? I believe i will have enough but you never know.
Leaving for San Juan in the morning and getting on the Jewel on Saturday.
Thanks
Michele
Yes you can, however it will cost you at least 3%, in fact I believe it was just raised to 5%. Someone else will clarify it for sure.

I can't help but think this young person must of missed out on a lot of everyday stuff being on a ship so much so young.

Not quite sure I understand your math, but it´s 4 extra Points per person.
1 cabin as double = 4 Points per person
2 cabins as single = 8 Points per Person
While it´s 8 extra Points between the two that´s really quite irrelevant, as there´s no combining on Points.
2 cabins singles - 8 points per person x 2=16-4=12 net
I was going with Tagsalong's theory.
-
If they have the same Membership #, they will end up with only 8 points added to the total, not 16.
If your talking C&A membership # everyone has their own. Man, women, child.
-
Point chasers can buy 4 extra credits/points, as of this moment, for just $28. The Enchantment Nov 4th sailing went on-sale this morning to $119 double occupancy, $133 single. A couple getting two rooms will pay $409.91 vs $381.91 for a single room. Plus we would get double amenities as Diamond plus, ie. four beers, two snack baskets, two wines. Too bad we are already booked on the Freedom that week or else we would have jumped all over this one.
I came back to edit that I forgot: depending on your moral and ethical persuasions, the gratuity amount will be higher with two rooms.
That would be 12 extra points if your talking a couple that normally gets 1 cabin...... 2 cabins, 2 solo's. 8 credits for each person.
That's if RCL will give spouses or people in the same household the extra points. As I understand it, when a family is reserving cabins for their kids they do not get the extra points just because they booked 2 or more cabins.

So am I still smart??;);)
Smarter than the average bear:D

I love social media. I've been told on a C&A FB page : 'I just heard from a very reliable source that this is strictly rumor, no truth to it.'
Got to chuckle.
So you are saying all the solo people reporting getting double points for the Sept 22nd sailing on Allure are mistaken:eek::eek: and there was quite a few of them.
OHHHHH FB is saying that and not you. I read it wrong at first.
-
Kathy, I am pretty sure you have read every post on this subject and I do know you are a very smart person and a TA to boot.
I doubt very much I have to explain it to you.
OK, explain it to me :)My apologizes:o:o. I completely lost my mind for a brief time. It can't be done.
-
How so??

IF it was possible to get 20 points for 5 nights,I would not be able to resist(because you can't)......unless I'm missing something:confused:
Right.......as a single you can't. However as a couple you can.
I thought you could read between the lines:eek::):D:p
I guess I should call them credits and not points.

We've always had most bang for our buck by booking the free 4 night cruise, (2 times) or 7 night (1 time). We have never seen where the OBC has been more than the free cruise.
We don't have to fly to Fl so that might be a big bearing especially on the 4 nights.
