  1. I see now that Oasis is leaving out of Port Canaveral. Is the closest airport Orlando? How far of a drive is it to the port and is it best to just rent a car or are there shuttles at all from the airport to the port? Thanks.

We used this company roundtrip for our family cruise of 10 persons on the Freedom from Port Canaveral from Orlando airport. http://www.port-canaveral-transportation.net Very reliable. Driver was waiting at airport with sign and met us at ship on time upon disembarking.

  2. We didn't like it. There is a curtain to divide the bedroom from bath area. The cabin's main door opens to the bath area. Which can be difficult if you're changing/toweling off and someone wants to come in room from ship corridor.

  3. I am at a loss when it comes to Kona. I don't think that I will want another tour day though. I am open to beach/snorkeling suggestions and good restaurants with a great view or a boat trip but I haven't found just what I'm looking for. Any suggestion is welcome because if it's not for me it may just be for someone else who clicked on this thread who is also looking for ideas. :)

We spent a week in Kona and went out with Kona Honu Divers for the Manta Ray night dive. They offer other snorkeling and diving too. They also have a this Open Ocean Safari Ihttps://www.konahonudivers.com/best-snorkel-boat-kona-and-freedive-whale-watching.htm

If you're there during whale season that might be fun. They are a very organized and friendly business.

  4. I will be visiting St. Croix in mid March. I have heard that there are humpback whales migrating this time of year. Would you be able to recommend any whale watching tours. I can't seem to find any

  5. We've done the Isla Passion by Twister twice in Cozumel. It is a ship tour only and cost $89/adult (Tour CZ1F). It is a really fun boat ride to the island where you have an all-inclusive day on a beautiful beach. There are water climb-on things for the kids and in-water hammocks to relax in. Food and drinks are great too.

  6. Just booked Anthem for this summer. They're running this promo right now where balcony cabins are the same price as outside cabins.

It meant the D2 balcony was 2150 less than my usual JS.

I ALWAYS sail in a JS. Wife, me & kids. (Ages 3 & 8) Only did a regular balcony once on Celeb reflection with my wife alone. I remember it being small but fine for us, but thinking about doing it with 2 kids, I'm thinking that may have been a bad idea. Especially since Anthem and the Solstice class are essentially the same ship.

Any other families of 4 on Anthem who can give me some advice? Was your balcony cabin super cramped? Should I shell out the extra 2150 or use that cash for some fun pre/post sailing in the Big Apple.

Like one of the other posters said, I would price the cost of two cabins with a connecting door. That is what we did when our 2 kids were younger. It also gives you two bathrooms with showers, but on the other hand, the JS gives you a bathtub (good for 3 yo).

we ran into this challenge when trying to plan our excursion for St. Maarten (we're on the same sailing as you!). The independent tour operator told us we would be on Atlantic time; however, the Celebrity rep couldn't confirm if it would be Atlantic or Eastern time. Since the start time for the tour was close to the arrival time, we decided not to take a chance of missing the tour. We opted for something different that doesn't start until mid-morning.

See you on board in four weeks...Sunset Bar at 4:30pm!

It seems, from reading the responses to this thread, that it's up to the captain to change the clocks or not. I've never been on a sailing that did not change clocks to island time. We've opted for a day pass at a resort in St. Maarten so we'll be on our own schedule. See you at sail away.

  8. Looking at Cosol tours in st Lucia ... Great reviews ... Anyone used them ? We are there Sunday March 26 ... They need a min of 6

We did the Cosol Full Day St. Lucia Tour in January 2014. My husband and I were put with other couples who had booked the tour into a van of 10 people for the day. It is a great way to get an overview of most of the island and some beach time in too. If you are interested in doing this tour, I would email them and ask them to place you with others who want to do the tour that day. It was very popular and I believe he fill multiple vans with cruisers. Or, you could try to get 4 other cruisers from your Roll Call to do this tour with you.
