  1. Did you join the roll call? There is a pretty large list of people for those events. We are also on this sailing. The only excursion we have planned is Mr Sanchos in Cozumel. This will be our 4th or 5th time there, so its our go to when in Cozumel!

  2. We went out of NYC in June. Platinum, non haven. We were one of the first through security and went straight to the check in counter. Received Group 1, went on right after Haven and ADA. We had a separate set of chairs that was roped off, although they only sparingly watched who came/went from that area.

  3. Didn't read the whole thread but may have been posted....easy hack for dirty clothes, just put in suitcase that is stored under your bed. As one fills up, push it out of the way, then move another to be filled. We use this method with our family of 5 and never have issues with dirty laundry around the cabin, plus quicker to pack on the last night before we go....all the dirty clothes are already in a suitcase.....

  4. The fact your request made me laugh, I obliged. No idea if this answers your question, but I can confirm it’s no Heidi...

To the person that asked about specialty dining menus, I will remember to post them when we visit Cagney’s, Teppanyaki, and La Cucina. I’m fairly certain they’re the old (pre-Bliss) menus, which are readily available elsewhere.

Thanks! Disappointed but oh well.....used to be a Super Star machine instead of a Game King. Really appreciate the time!

  5. I’m sorry, I feel so dense asking this after you just answered, but I guess I am just used to Margaritaville on BA. You can’t just order individual items on Escape at all? I really just wanted to go there one day for the big ol’ pile of nachos lol. [emoji39]

The pricing is standard whether you order just nachos or one item from each category (app/salad/entree/dessert).

  6. We hit the Margaritaville on the Escape last month....I tell you, I was not looking forward to the up charge, but after my wife and I went, I would do it again! We had the pretzels/nachos for apps, a couple of salads, the Volcano burger, and then Key Lime Pie for dessert. I was contemplating paying the up charge for just the pie after that. :) We only did one drink each while there, but the food was actually really darn good!

  7. I wish I could get another cabin, but then again I'm not paying for it and it's not my family that's taking us, inlaws. Even with the cost difference, FIL, won't let us pay for nothing except what we do on port days. I can't complain to much. Plus my FIL thinks he knows everything there is to know since he's been on 2 cruises and I haven't, even though I've proven him very wrong numerous times. Luckily the youngest is 4 so there's a pretty good chance she ends up in bed with us.

I hope you have a very "close" relationship with your in laws. I have been married 19 years, and when my MIL comes, she gets her own room......just a little tight otherwise. FYI, our normal cabin is a 5 person ocean view on NCL, but when on Carnival, we go with the 2 room option.

  8. .... This latest offer has me questioning that. I was told that actual losses have to be greater than $7,500 for a mini suite now, so they are tightening down.....]

Is your play on board mostly on Video Poker? I ask because I used to play all VP on board and then switched to slots for much better offers/comps per dollar.

In Oct 2015, CAS told me Mini-Suite was Actual or Theoretical loss of over $7000, and Suites started at over $8000. If they are no longer looking at what your Theo it sounds like someone at the top just doesn't care about getting returning players.

Mainly VP with some slots mixed in, maybe 5% of my total action. I am usually pretty accurate when calculating my Theo (most of my past cruises came home with most of my $). I don't think I could play 40-50 hours of slots only. I enjoy the math behind VP, which is what makes it fun for me. I also believe that CAS counts their hold at perfect strategy based on math, ie the 5-7 percent, rather than at some arbitrary point less than perfect. Basically, they are holding imperfect players at a rate in line with perfection (or reducing comps even further). Seems like the tides are turning with them in relation to players/comps....I will still price them out, but I just think they are slipping down my list (at least). Too much more, and they won't even be competitive....now if Carnival only had a balcony that held 5.... :)

  9. I was pretty disappointed with my last offer. I had my worst "gambling" trip on NCL, meaning no big winners/tax forms (highest single play win was $625). I played through my bank roll and only was offered a balcony/ocean view for my next comp. Last time I had a loss like this, the offer was a Spa Suite or normal suite on the Jewel class ships. I always figured that if they would give me a $5k room, that I could gamble $5k and get two for one on my money. This latest offer has me questioning that. I was told that actual losses have to be greater than $7,500 for a mini suite now, so they are tightening down. I may use my last future cruise certificate and transition to another line (stinks since we just had our first platinum cruise on NCL).

On a side note, for the same type of action/results last year on Carnival, I did just get an offer for their Elite cruise. I can't use this one, but hoping that the next round works with my vacation schedule. Heck, even comparing Premier prices for my family of 5, Carnival and CAS/NCL are now coming in closer than ever before. In years past, there was not even a question of where I would get the best price.

I have signed up with URCOMPED, but haven't used them yet....another possible option. Does anyone know if RCL and/or MSC have video poker in the casino?

  10. I played mainly $0.25 level, I know the lower odds, but I consider price of being able to travel. I play Triple Play, 5 Play, 10 Play and Ultimate X. I would have assumed that the casino calculation would not be based on 100% perfect play based on math, but somewhere a little lower since not many can play at that level. Personally, I am at 98.5-99% perfect play, do you think their system is smart enough to generate a % based on individual accuracy?

  11. Yeah these aren't full pay machines. I think 95% when I ran them. Basically the house edge assumes you are a perfect strategy player or in my case better, as this is like 96.8% payback.

  12. Just back from the NCL Jewel....great week of video poker! I hit Aces Kicker on $1 for $2k, a 3 X $.25 Royal Flush for $3K, a 10 X $.25 Aces for another $2K. I also hit 3 other $.25 royal flushes for $1k each! They have 8 All Star machines, and we had about 20-25 people wanting to play, so had to get there early and camp out or lose it. :)
