    We've seen prior pix/video of the seabed under the ship that were showing cracks with Concordia just sitting on the ledge. I could believe with the work going on they are seeing more areas of concern.

     

    Your welcome. From that Giglio News article it appears that the stabilization will be completed in time before winter weather brings rough seas. I imagine it will be a challenge to work around the ship during the winter season.

  3. Ken ... you could be right about the cables that can be seen in the pictures, they could along with the metal ribs also be part of the parbuckling system looking at the holes at either end of the metal ribs that will be used to help winch the ship to the upright position.

     

    That's correct they do go under the ship and are part of the stabilization of the ship.

    Thanks Clive. The best I could understand the translation of that article it mainly revolves around the financial stability of the Micoperi company. Not much substance regarding the salvage operation itself.

    There seems to be a lot of talk about the future of the salvage on Giglio news although its difficult tonderstand the translation I get on my laptop. Does anyone get a clear translation or do we all get the same one.

     

    Microperi 30 platform is not in camera view as of 1:36 EST US time.

    Tonka is correct. I believe the area in the second picture is where the stabilizer was located.

     

    Thanks. I assumed the patch in the hull was the gash from the rocks, but you're right, they removed the stabilizer and that is the steel patch seen in the photos. I wish someone like Giglio News at least provide a few photos such these each week. :)

  9. Thanks for the photos Ken. Did they give any idea when they were taken?

    It looks like the rusty plates we can see lower down will be covering up holes which it may follow that the main hole caused by the rock may now be sealed up just as Tonka predicted.

     

    Photos were taken earlier this week.

  10. Finally some photos of the work being performed on the port side. You can see that the hull has been patched where the rock pierced it. Looks like all the preliminary work going on welding supports to the hull from which the caissons will be attached.
