  1. Thank you all! So funny feeling like a first time cruiser by changing cruise lines!

    mking8288 your pictures were awesome!

I probably need to shift my tour to 10am... and try to get an early tag.  Looks like they let you select what you want... that's pretty cool.

I'm curious about the cruisenext.  Those daily sheets said buy 4 for $1000 and get $500 onboard credit this cruise.  I've heard you can place 2 on another cruise... does that mean use 2 of the 4 and gives you $500 deposit that new booking cruise? do it again for 2nd new booking?  and it's like your $1000 really gives you $1500?

  2. I've never seen Disney discounted much, so please let me know if you have, where this shows up? When you click the shop now link it takes you on a wild goose chase that I don't like to follow. It's a sponsored ad from CC. Hope it's not false advertising... but would really like to know where these rates of 70% off Disney are located! so far I can't find it!

  3. There is a multi princess photo op/signing that requires reservations at least on the first day of the cruise. Not sure if it can be done earlier. We are just back and saw them with not much of a line and asked why. We didn't have small kids so didn't worry much. But always saw long lines for characters. So I'd try to get the reservation ones! (think there might be a couple like that).

  4. Please help my family make a good decision!

Want to take my 18 year old on special 2016 graduation cruise that we haven't done.

    Considering between:

Navigator 10 night Canary Island cruise: departing London-ish to 3 Canary Island ports, Vigo Spain and Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.

    or

Jewel 7 night Greek cruise: deparing Rome-ish to Santorini, Mykonos, Athens-ish, Olympia-ish

    additional pros:

Navigator--- We have never been to any of those ports and can spend couple of days in London (she's never been there). Plus 10 night cruise, love longer cruise time.

Jewel--- We have never been to Greece and can spend additional time in Italy, she's seen some big sights, but always more to enjoy.

Please also express any international travel fear that you feel is relevant.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

  5. I can't believe I actually caught that post in all of these, but it still gave me a chuckle.

Sigh. I am getting more and more distraught over the changes going on with NCL since Kevin left. He turned that line around and made it what it is today (which was successful) only for Del Rio to start tearing it apart and crumbling it in a matter of months losing a lot of devoted cruisers.

I always try to remain on the positive side when things happen...whether it be changes or something happening bad on my cruise. Anyone around here knows that I can take all my broken bones I get on a cruise and make it into a positive and still have fun. However...things just seem to be going a bit too far lately.

These changes...well for the most part, they do not effect me. But as a whole, it is affecting the cruising community in big ways.

I have to say that I have only ordered room service once and I didn't like it at all. We normally book interiors and well, to me it's just not much fun to eat in an interior. However, we have been booking balconies lately and I can definitely see where people would want to get a danish and enjoy their coffee on their balcony. Do I? Nope. Never have. So that's not my gripe.

My gripe would be that yes...I own a child. :p She started cruising with us at 3 years old. Back then I think about the few times that we sat down to eat and we were called to come get her from the kids club. They packed up our dinner to take with us back to the room. Then there was the time that we picked her up from the kids club and she was so tired that after sitting down and ordering at Blue Lagoon, she fell asleep. They packed it up for us and we took it back to the room (obviously not being able to go out to get anything else after that). For reasons like this, for people with kids, for people that might need snack because of being diabetic or an illness, they get interrupted at dinner for whatever reason...this all saddens me.

But I honestly can't see how they are going to enforce the buffet. Seriously. I can't see anyone chasing you down and grabbing your plate as you go by. If my child is sleeping and we want a snack and someone has to stay back at the room...you best believe I'll walk back with something. I would never be one to disobey the rules, however, this is going a bit too far. What happen to freestyle cruising?

For NCL to come on here and act like we are just too plain stupid to figure out that their lame excuse of either it being a health issue or for the 'beauty of the ship" just makes them look ignorant in my book. If that's the case, you wouldn't be having room service you greedy shiznits...and charging for it PLUS 18% gratuity seriously?! You would put a stop to ALL food in the rooms...since it makes it dirty and unsanitary and all.....

Your timing is the worse! You excuses make it worse! The way you go about these announcements (or lack there of) are the worse!

I WILL NOT pay you extra to order room service. You will not get money out of me for that.

All the changes with the specialty dining now...kids paying full price (I think it was changed or I read something about it?) and the show on the first night no longer being offered as part of the package...and whatever else that I can't seem to keep up with the changes....I WILL NOT be paying to go to the specialty dinning. I will only eat at the free venues from here on out! You will not get money out of me for that.

NCL has upped the DSC now. I noticed the price of the soda package has increased. It's just one thing after another lately. The madness isn't ending, it just keeps getting worse. NCL has now gave new meaning to feestyle cruising for sure. They ARE out to nickel and dime you as others have said in the past. I will pay my cruise fare, I will pay my DSC and they will not get another dime out of me for anything extra that I would normally do...specialty dining, excursions, ice cream on the Getaway, lobster tails danish (sniff sniff I'll miss you) and so on.

I have my upcoming Dawn cruise in 29 days. I will NOT be buying a future cruise certificate. I do have 1 FCC left on my account. What happens between now and when I use that will determine if I ever buy another. I was trying to sail every ship in the fleet (and have been doing a pretty good job of it), but I think I will fall short now with all these changes. I knew there was a reason that I have now tried Carnival out twice and completely LOVED it. Go figure... They might be my new "permanent" ships of choice when it's all done and over with.

I feel like NCL has tried to insult my intelligence and it's not going over well. :(

    Thanks for sharing.

    Beautifully said.

    Such a strange policy.

Will be amazed if they stick to it.

  6. Just returned... thanks for all the earlier posts!

    I'd definitely say:

    1. book private lessons for flowrider for 1st or 2nd night AND last night. We booked early arrival day for 2nd night out. Checked later in week and nights were available... but we sat on the fence too long. It did completely book up... and on the last night... I think it would have been a fabulous way to end the cruise! We missed out... but maybe you can enjoy it then!

    2. If you want to try Chops, book 1st thing on board... or earlier if you have that priviledge. We didn't until first night... already booked for the week. Got a waitlist and it cleared. So waitlist if you need to... you never know! The best night for us to have missed the dining room was on Tuesday night. (also the most popular night at chops!)

    3. only felt the crowd... in San Juan departure. Seemed everyone was trying to leave from the forward gangway... the aft gangway was uncongested.

    4. go to Labadee early to miss the mid-morning tender rush... and to get beach front chairs! Take cash for the market!!!

GREAT ship!!! Loved the E. Caribbean itinerary!
