Guess I'll be stopping by the supermarket for a couple limes before I board on Sunday !! Last year Mariner didn't have lemons on it for drinks or tea.

I will be doing the Bar Hop next week. Tom has been great and quick to return emails or just to send an email to say hello and he is looking forward to meeting me. There are a couple videos on Youtube to look at. I will be writing a review when I get back. Also, the more people you have in a group together, the cheaper it is.

Texas does not allow gambling so the ship cannot open the casino. Texas has a three tier liquor distribution model. Brewery/distillery sels only to a distributor who then sells to retail outlets by Texas law. Therefore any alcohol consumed on a ship while in Texas waters must be purchased from a Texas distributor at a markup of course. To add more injury, alcohol sold on the ship while in port has sales tax added! There has been little changes in the liquor law here in Texas.
BTW some of the northern counties of the state are dry meaning no alcohol can be sold in those counties or in some cases precincts. However "private clubs" can sell alcohol by the drink to "members". Many times a few dollars will make you a "member" on the spot! Crazy but unfortunately very real. Lubbock in west Texas went wet (can sell alcohol) just 2 or so years ago!
The Nav does not have a flow rider so you would be out of luck!
Navigator did get a Flowrider during it's recent refurb !!

I sail next Sunday, hopefully. Haven't heard if it may possibly get cancelled also. I was about this far from booking the cruise this week when the price dropped over the weekend. Wanted to do a B2B. Glad I didn't now.

Nos at pier now and Magic on it's way in.

Though Senior, Military discounts etc can be applied to any reservation regardless if the rate or when book it needs to be note that these types of discount come and go and are generally offered only on selected cabin categories. Because they come and go whether booked through a TA or RCCL directly I check regularly ( prior to final payment) for any discounts Apparently OP did not do that an trusted his/her TA would do so and it's too late now.
Actually, I did not get any 55+ or resident discount when I booked because it wasn't offered then. When they finally offered it, I called TA and asked for them to check and see if could could get a discount applied to the fare that I booked at, because the current fare in total is more than when I paid for cruise. TA said they could not get me the discount unless I cancelled and rebooked at current rate. No deal there.

How terrible.
We leave on Navigator a week from today with four couples. For one, this will be their first cruise. I hope this does not get their spirits down.
For those waiting to board and/or depart...enjoy your cruise!
We also cruise on NOS next week. Extending our vacation and going down on Wed. to stay in timeshare on the island a few days.

If you are driving use EZCruise parking, they are great. We use them every time. You can book on-line. They are so close to the port you can see the ships. You park board a shuttle and off you go and coming back look for the shuttle and back to your car.
Don't really think they will be driving in from UK !!

I didn't know you could do that. How much is it to just go in and get a shake?
About $4 from what I was told.

i do not believe that you have reason to write this. You asked a question about an accessible cabin. Others answered. You can't control what other people say on a public forum. I don't think that anyone was out of line.
:)
x2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The one bad thing about them releasing the accessible JS for anyone is that it takes away the only chance someone in a AX Balcony has for an upgrade.
-
I do hope you dont have to pay the cover charge to just walk in and buy a shake ??!!
-
It's six bucks for all you can eat !!:eek: How much do you pay when you go to Furrs or Golden Corral ? Twice as much.

I think the ATM fees on the ship is $6.00 plus what your' bank charges. You can also take a check to the casino once for $200 or $250. I would stop on the way to the pier and use your' banks ATM if there is one avail. or take the cash with you and just not carry it all around with you in NOLA. I use a belt, like a regular pants belt, that has a zipper on the inside to put cash in.

Sure hope this wasn't asked already...
Which formal night, if ever, was lobster served in the MDR? I hate to miss the lobster, even if the quality has seemingly changed over the years. Hope that it's still being served, 'cause I LOVE it! ;)
Second formal night, Friday.

I thought that your' seapass account was closed after everything on the ship closed on last night of sailing.

My favorite one is the one I am walking up the gangway to board !!

I believe these are the specialty restaurants and the cover charges. Someone please correct me if you see any errors.
Chops- $35.00
Giovanni's Table- $15.00 lunch $20.00 dinner
Izumi- $10.00 cover charge & ala cart pricing however the cover charge will be used towards your bill.
Sabor Modern Mexican-$25.00
I hope this helps!
I see you just got off of MOS. Last year when we went on Mariner, they announced a special the first night of sailing in one or two of the specialty rests. If I remember it was half price for the first night. Did they do anything simular on your' cruise ?

Navigator is going to San Juan next spring. The speculation has been that Liberty will replace her then. They're just trying to keep us all in suspense. It would be great if the itineraries changed up a bit but we'll see. It would be a surprise if they did.
I also heard that NOS was in Galveston until May 2015 and that Liberty would replace her.

What about Treasure of the Seas ? Also like Opulence of the Seas .

Yes, they can use it immediately upon boarding. Not all bars will be open and not all drinks will be available. But there will be plenty.
Thank you Beth. Lovely photo of you also.

Last year we went on Stingray tour in Cayman Islands and while out on the boat, the tour guide got a dozen conch off the sea floor and prepared some of the meat for us to try raw. Was great. Anyway, we carried 2 of the conch shells back on the boat in a plastic bag that went thru the xray machine. Once in our cabin, our steward brought us a bucket of bleach water to put them into and set them on the balcony. No one ever blinked and they were seen coming in thru security.

I think what that person was mostly looking for was if they pre-payed for a drink package, can they use it as soon as they got on the ship or does it not go into effect until they leave port. Free drinks on your package or do you have to pay for drinks at first until you get into international waters?

The ones purchased and/ or booked prior to yesterday will not lose anything if someone has to change the ship or date.
And let me add, do not let someone cancel your' booking. If you cancel a booking and then pick something else, you will lose the NCC and the OBC that you got with it. You can transfer as many times as you want, just don't cancel it.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. No one has anything to complain about as far as RCCL goes. The ones who left did so of their own free will with the information they bad at the time. Situation changed and they were given a window of time to change their minds. They still got a refund + some. I cruise out this coming Sunday. I almost bought passage on this cruise this week to do a back to back. Still wish I would have. They knew when they left they were, A. getting a refund B. had the opportunity to stay on the ship and enjoy the amenities for free C. obviously still had the time available because they would have otherwise been on the ship anyways. No one is wrong for the decision that they made, they just gambled wrong.
