  1. looking to do a 5 day cruise in nov on the sensation. only ever cruised RC but want to try a carnival cruise, albeit i realise its a smaller older ship.

i can book through carnival.com for $755 or cruisenation.com for £545. by my conversion rate that means cruisenation works out cheaper and i can pick from empress, riviera or upper decks on cruisenation instead of just riviera through carninval.

which deck is the best from them 3? or not much difference?

would it be better to book through carnival.com though??

also can get $50 obc if i book by tomorrow thats why im looking to book, or will they do sale offers and obc offer throughout the year anyway?

Empress deck for sure. Rest I can't comment on. I always book direct.
  2. Clearing customs at Port Everglades can be a real pain, which I had heard, and can now confirm. I usually try to be one of the first ones off, but thought I'd go with the flow this time around (Nov. 5th). That was a mistake. Debarking started at the normal time, but my zone wasn't called untill after 11, and I didn't clear customs until 12:20, and there were no taxis, and a long line of people trying to get a taxi. It took my Lyft driver forever to find my terminal, with a lot of calling back and forth. My flight was at 1:40, and I didn't have any time to spare, walking right onto the plane. Luckily the airport is close and it's relatively small. Next time it's back to self-assist.
There are some new customs clearing apps for Port Everglades. Look them up. I've heard they speed the process.
  3. Out of these 2 ports which one has a better all white soft sandy beach to walk on close to the pier/ship? Cozumel or Grand Cayman? We are planning to sail on the Horizon Jan 2019.
Grand Cayman. We took a cab to Calico Jack's on Seven Mile beach. Had a great time in the white sand.
  4. We are going to be sailing on the Sunshine Dec 1, 2017, we have never been to Amber Cove. I'm looking for your help in finding the best excursion or thing to do while there . What has been your experience there' what did you like the most ?

    Thanks

We got a poolside cabana and had a great day at the port. Zipline and pool floats included with Cabana. It's a great pool area.
  5. Is the Serenity deck noisy with Camp Ocean right next to it on Sea days? Do the kids run in the Serenity deck at all? Does Carnival enforce the "No kids" in the Serenity deck on this ship?
We were on the Liberty, same layout, we never noticed the kids. The areas are separated with a glass wall.

    Have a great cruise.

  6. Final payment must have already been paid or they wouldn't be able to see their boarding pass.
Yes, correct, I also paid a cruise in full right at booking time, but it wasn't past the date for final payment for the itinerary, so it didn't show my cabin until after the cruise final payment date.
  7. I was playing around on my Carnival booking and was going to order the pop package for my son and husband but it was around $105 usd, which is over $130 Canadian for us for the week. Seems like a lot of money for pop! How much is it for one if we don't buy the package?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I think they are $2 usd per can
  8. Just wondering if you remember how much the unlimited zipline bracelets were?

Im looking into excursions now and unlimited ziplining sounds fun being that this will be our first time.

    $12.00 unlimited.

  9. Can you tell us where these pictures were taken? Were you at the port area or a private resort? We are headed there in September.

My pictures were at the free pool area right at the pier. We rented the poolside cabana. I took the pictures from there. I hope you have as much fun as we had.

  10. We were there last September on the Conquest. There were two big ships in port. We got off the boat, found the taxi stand and asked to go to the beach. We got in a taxi van and they dropped us off somewhere on 7 mile beach. There was a bar and store/shop there and some beach rentals. We got an umbrella and a lilo float. We then swam and floated. Sandy beach not rocky. Yet I was able to see several colorful fish with my mask on while swimming.

We have five kids and I would not have had a problem bringing any of them there (they are all good swimmers). But, too bad for my kids since cruise time is mom and dad time and I don't bring them. We never felt UN safe. We had a wonderful time.

I think we spent less than $30 for cab and umbrella and float rental.

When we were ready to go the cabs were lined up. We actually had a cabbie walk the beach and find fares to fill his van.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy the clear water on Grand Cayman. We are heading back on the Paradise at the end of this month. I can't wait.
