I see they are all on the older and smaller Vision, from those listed it depends on where you wish to start & end. I live on the West Coast so if I were doing the cruise again, I would do the West bound back to Los Angelas ( San Pedro )

We just reserved the westbound one for November 15th, which we believe is a good deal compared to the other options.

  2. We just returned from a fantastic B2B cruise on Jewel of the Seas. The only negative was our tour planned in Martinique through "martinique excursions" We fully paid the $80 prior for the tour for the 2 of us and received confirmation that we'd be picked up at port by 9 am. The tour director was there, but said that he'd wait to see if he could recruit others, as doing the tour for 2 people wasn't worth it to him. He finally found another couple by 10 am, but only charged them $40 for the 2 of them. When we returned home, I wrote to the tour company to complain, but they said that they couldn't do anything about it because we had paid in advance and it was the tour guide's discretion to do this. What poor customer relations!

  3. We will be on the Grandeur departing December 1st. I realize that it's still early to worry about flights, but I'm a bit concerned with it being December. I just did some checking for flights on Air-2-Sea from Akron to Baltimore, along with flights booked on American Airlines directly. Roundtrip for 2 on Air-2-Sea is $516, while the same on American is $486. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

  4. They may or may not be able to push you to deck 8. Normally, the wheelchair assistance is just to get you on the ship. You may want to consider renting a wheelchair or scooter from one of the companies that specializes in cruise ship rentals, like scootaround.com or specialneedsatsea.com.

I would definitely recommend Special Needs at Sea, as they supplied me with oxygen for a 2-week B2B cruise. It was in the stateroom waiting for me when I arrived onboard.

  5. I don't change my voicemail at all to say we are away I don't want to broadcast it and open myself to a would be thief. I also don't post pics on any social media until I am home. I DO check messages while in ports and return calls if necessary.

We do the same with the voice mail and photos on Facebook. The important people know where I'm at and how long I'll be gone.

  6. I'm very upset with Royal's Air2Sea program. We reserved our flights on January 6th from Akron to Rome and then San Juan back to Akron for a price of $711 per person for November. On the Air2Sea website on January 10th, it showed a total price for the same flights at $434 per person. A call to Air2Sea resulted in a message that I can only make a change within 24 hours! So much for their guarantee that they'll give us the best price on airfare!

  7. Check your roll call...we saved tons of bucks doing "private group tours"...and made lifelong friends as well!

We are on the Brilliance cruise of the Mediterranean in September. From our roll call, we were able to organize tours in all of the 9 ports. I'm the one "in charge" of 6 of those 9 ports. They are definitely much cheaper than what is offered by the cruise line. Those tours guarantee that they will have you back at port in time.

  8. We've stayed at Sleep Inn Seatac many, many times - both prior to and after our cruise (or flight from Anchorage). Free shuttle to and from the airport and the Light Rail station, also free shuttle to area restaurants (within 3 or 4 miles, I think), free breakfast, very clean and large rooms, reasonable rates ($80.00 per night on our pre-cruise this past May 17th, and then $100.00 per night post cruise this past June 1st), and an IHOP across the parking lot.

We then use Seattle Express Shuttle Service ($12.00 per person) to take us to Pier 91, and then again back to the hotel following the cruise.

Have a wonderful trip - you're going to love it. The beauty and majesty of the Great Land is what keeps us returning year after year, both on cruises and land only trips. Enjoy!

Another vote for Sleep Inn SeaTac (just booked for $87, room for 2 people, which includes tax, for May 28) and Seattle Express (they will also take you back to the airport, instead of the hotel, after the cruise) at $12 per person.

I also noticed that the original poster was from Strongsville, OH so I presume that you'll use Cleveland Hopkins Airport. We just booked our flights on Southwest from there at $790 for 2 of us roundtrip.

  9. Shuttle Express? or Seattle Express?

In the past, Seattle Express was $12 and picks up at many hotels. But Shuttle Express was always around $20 and departs from the airport.

Sleep inn has gotten lots of positive comments from cruise folks who stayed there pre-cruise. Have a good trip!

Sorry...my fault! Yes, it is Seattle Express, and they've also received many positive reviews from cruisers.

  10. Parking is expensive in Seattle. Even hotel guests pay $20-$35 a day to park their car!

Your best option is to stay near the airport and take a shuttle to whichever pier you need. Google 'park and stay Seatac'. If you're in town long enough to sightsee, the Light Rail runs from the airport to downtown frequently; $3pp , 40 minutes.

I think the Sleep Inn by the airport has a park and stay rate. Plus they partner with Seattle Express for a shuttle to either pier for $10-$15 pp. Check the Seattle Express web site for a list of other hotels they serve and you might find other lodging choices.

We just booked the Sleep Inn by the airport. Great rates and shuttle express into downtown Seattle port is only $12 per person.

  11. I think I figured out how to get from the hotel to the ship. We're staying at the Fairfield Inn near the airport and I found out they (and several of the hotels) have a shuttle service for $12 each way to the ship. You can even take the shuttle back to the hotel, and then grab the free shuttle to the airport. It's probably a lot easier to take a ship shuttle directly to the airport...

The shuttle leaves the Fairfield at 10:00 AM and noon, and leaves the ship at 9:00 and 11:00. From what I could figure out, many of the airport hotels offer this same service at the same price.

The Sleep Inn and the Best Western at Seattle airport offer the same thing.
