Thanks, I just read in another thread that they sometimes discount the upgrade once you are on board. Might just wait and see.
We have not seen a discount on the upgrade. But agree it is well worth the $11.80 per day to do so.
-
Unless there has been a change the Classic package limit is a$9 so a $14 IPA would incur a charge if $5+ 18% for a total of $5.90.
This is why we always upgrade to the Premium pkg, well, and along with the better red wines the wifester liked. :D

Thanks for taking the time to bring us along!
FYI,
If you are into craft beer, the beer and food paring offered in the GastroBar is well worth the cost!

We were on the Ruby in Nov/Dec 2012 and your comments match our experience to a tee!
2013 on the Reflection, and 2014 & 15 the Equinox.

If people insisted on sailing with this company this is what I would recommend that they did.
Sailing with Celebrity is a choice we too make, tho I guess I could say the wifester does insist we do so.

Keep the 2A and drink pkg! The cabins are the same 194 sq ft, and tho having Blu as your dining room is nice, it is not that much different from the MDR.
-
Considering Aqua class- do people dress casual for breakfast (shirt/shorts)--
That is how we dressed. Enjoyed breakfast there, tho it is not truly any different from what is available at the buffet or the MDR.

The upcharge of $45-50 pp to eat at any specialty restaurant is too high. As a longtime cruiser, I have eaten at many specialty restaureants on many ships. Celebrity charges the most. While the food is good, it doesn't warrant that huge fee. On my most recent cruise on Oceania Marina, I was delighted to eat in all of their specialty restaurants. No extra fee. Food was fabulous. Even the buffet was outstanding.
What was the per day cost of the cruise compared to the same time frame on Celebrity?
-
Check the speciality offers in your, 'My Cruise Planner' there is a 20% off sale going on. Many on the Roll Call for the cruise we just cancelled got a 9 night pkg for $209.00 pp.
We now book a basic balcony then get a pkg for the entire cruise.

We have been on the hump on Reflection and Equinox on deck 8 & 9. No noise issues.
-
I had booked a Equinox cruise for this fall way back last year.
My final payment date was mid August, I didn't make the payment and figured X cancelled my cruise.
Well low and behold Celebrity rep called me today looking for the balance.
I still may take this cruise.....:D
We were on this ABC cruise with you but had to cancel.
Just looked at what it would cost to rebook :eek:!
Go Best is $940.00 per person higher for the same 1A!
Keep it!

Updated itinerary: Puerto Rico is back on the schedule instead of Punta Cana. I am happy but will keep monitoring.
Question, with no running water nor electricity for 3 million people, where do you expect to get to go and see?
-
Celebrity only has the 'individual water bottles' because too many passengers said the 'couples' water bottles were to hard for 2 people to drink out of at the same time.:D

This is the week when there are more families with children that cruise Celebrity.
Yes, Santa is roaming the ship.

One of the best kept secrets on the Equinox is the beer and food paring in the GastroBar. It was offered 2X both the times we sailed, and both times sold out quickly.
With no Lawn Club Grill, the burger in the GastroBar is the best we have had on a cruise, way better than those at the Mast Grill.
OP, I would hate to read the 'vent' that would be posted if the event were 'not cancelled' and something went a tad wrong.
-
Thanks for taking the time to share about your vacation.
-
Also check your cruise Planner every couple of days.
There was a 20% off sale a few weeks back and a lot on the Roll Call got a 9 night pkg for $209 each.
-
Thanks for the daily updates Don!
We just had to cancel the Nov 6th sailing, so will get our Equinox fix following along.
In the GastroBar there is a brown leather note book on the shelf behind the bar for guest to leave a comment.
Have a brew and tell em hello.

Oh, congrats on #35, our #35 is today, 9/18/82

Have received email responses from Bernard Tours and Capt Bob in St Maarten.
Both said it will be quite a few months before they can try to resume any type of operation.

The S-class Celebrity ships are a completely different experience from the 5000 pass Oasis mega ships.
Two shows most night in the theater, one for early seating, the other for late. Many will skip them for the fun at the Martini Bar or smooth jazz in the Ensemble Lounge.
PS: we have sailed the Equinox 2x
-
we are scheduled to go to st. Maarten in january on the equinox.
I understand the island is pretty much leveled. What is the likelihood celebrity will choose another island?
Has this happened before to anyone?

Why not plan on sampling the restaurants once and going back a 2nd time if you really liked it? The food in Luminae is excellent and even when in a RS we eat dinner there about 50% of the time.
Exactly!

No grey area, the OBC is a blanket credit on your cabin account. The daily gratuity is a debit. You do not have to do anything nor give instructions to the front desk.

We are a long married couple in our late 50s and have cruised many times on Princess and Carnival. We want to try Equinox because it rates so high on CC. What makes it rate so high? How does it compare to Princess or Carnival in terms of food, pools, shows, and overall experience?
Thank you so much!
We are in our early to mid 60'ties.
First Princess 1992, last the Ruby in 2012.
First Celebrity 1994, Reflection 2013, and the Equinox 2014 & 2015, just had to cancel this Nov back on the Equinox! Entertainment goes to Princess, everything else goes to Celebrity.

We always hand them our sea pass and the cost is added to your on board account. ( i.e.: room )
