  1. Thank you for taking the time to write a review! l (we) like you always try to see the positive on our vacation heck your not at home cooking and cleaning or at Work. I so appreciate the positivity in your tone. We cruise in May on NCL after cruising CCL for many years so we are excited for something new! Alaska is on the Bucket list hope you enjoy.

I dont think it was more crowed then others, if you really like outdoor space that is where I found it most congested chairs are packed in, but doesn't break the vacation. The Serenity Deck is by far the best. We prefer the newer ships, Breeze, Freedom with the larger promenade great to sit and have a drink people watch. Like I said I dont think you will hate it food and service was good.

As Beth and Microyaya stated they loved it so it is all a personal thing.

FYI Im looking to cruise in May on the Valor, Older smaller so obviously it didn't have that much negative affect.

    Go and see for yourself!!

  3. A quick review of our recent sailing..

Hubby and I are in our late 40's , have cruised many times and are very easy to please. We had actually sailed on the Destiny when she was brand new. Chose this ship for the itinerary Aruba, Curacao,Grand Turk.

    Will breakdown review:

Pre Cruise: Viplimo, Mike himself picked us up in Town Car very friendly would use him again in a heartbeat! Stay a Radisson Resort at the Port. It was fine placed in a new room way in the back nice room. Great pool bar meet some fellow cruisers had fun!

Embarkation : took about 1 hr, arrived after noon and boarded after 1.

Room Balcony Deck 6 mid # 6239, no issues great location cabin steward very friendly, laundry right up hall. no fridge

Food:We had no issues with food offerings, we tried to mix it up and felt we did a good job

Lido Buffet good, Pizza Yum, Cucina for lunch nice treat, Mongolian Wok always a favorite, Bluelguana great Breakfast Burrito!, Guys worth a try very heavy along with a Thirsty Frog(mouth is watering), Sea day Brunch Huevero Ranchero enjoyed, slow but decent service, Taste Bar for Breakfast (now has a toaster!) Love The French Toast!! , Also some tasty bites pre dinner. JiJi's Loved!! Steakhouse Surf and Turf worth the upcharge. Your time dining worked fine for us we never waited long even when we requested a specific station. Food good to great

    Entertainment:

We actually never made it to any productions. Comedy was excellent (room is way to small) Some shows we stood but enjoyed anyway!! Deja Vu (band) excellent, Piano Bar OK , Casino very smokey but busy

Pool areas Chair Hogs on Steroids, Oh well we just went with it. Loved the Serenity Pool just hung out there. Not enough pool space for the amount of guest

    Ports

Aruba we had visited before so planned a Ship day, ended up being overcast but we still enjoyed a quiet ship

Curacao: It Poured most the morning we had a Private snorkel tour booked, which we cancelled. Ended up taking a two hr Island tour for $20p/p. It was a great way to see the Island Love the colors and architecture of the buildings. They would have let you off in downtown but due to weather we headed back to ship.

Grand Turk: Water is Breathtaking, prettiest we have seen!! We did a Ship sponsored tour Catamaran Sailaway,Beach and Snorkel, had a blast Im sure the RumPunch helped, Then went to Margaritaville, played in the pool had a great time! Cant wait to return!!!!

    Overall:

We had a great trip, relaxed and did as we wished. I don't think I would choose this ship again though and for no specific reason. It just was not our favorite. That being said I wouldn't dissuade anyone from sailing on Sunshine. So go and see for yourself any cruise is better then a day a work!!

Any question I will be happy to try to answer

  4. I appreciate all the reviews good and bad, the information is helpful for me to decide what I wish to tolerate. I wanted the itinerary that Sunshine offered and am looking forward to that and will know that I may have to stand in line to enjoy Comedy or get up early to get a chair by pool, No biggy. If I sleep in then change the plan. No fridge Ok at least I know. I will be on vacation no cooking, boss or schedule!!! Nothing better then that(IMHO) So I will try the Sunshine and be thankful for all the tips along the way.

  5. We stayed in this Cat Deck 6 on the Breeze, loved the location with the secret Balcony but we found it to be noisy and had a vibration. Bed was sideways to window. This is our opinion we tend to go for mid ship cabins, but felt the price with the window was a score. Would I do it again? not sure. Many love this Cat so it is totally personal. Who knows if the motion would bother you in any other Cat? Tough call

    Happy Sailing

  6. I was a true RCL follower for many years, wasn't to impressed with CCL. As the kids got older we decided more space would be ideal so for price we decided to try CCL again. We have been very happy with all our sailings. RCCL has much better deck/pool space, and live shows but other than that we have no complaints. Service is great, food is good (actually we think better), comedy and piano bar fun for all ages! If price is the issue try it out, go with an open mind and try not to compare while onboard. Your on vacation so how can it be bad!?

    Good Luck

    Shelley

  7. Sunlite, we did not eat at Steakhouse although I did hear it was worth it. The Alchemy Bar was on my to do list but we never made it. Sorry cant help much with your ?.

You should all have a great time!!!

I do have the Funtimes so any questions on that let me know

    Shelley

  8. We like to lounge by the pool, workout, trivia, nap (late afternoon) people watch..On port days if you stay on pool area empty very relaxing! The hot tubs on Serenity Deck Breathtaking views you feel like your on top of the world.

    Have a great time!

  9. Quick Review and thoughts

Hubby and I love to cruise, we were looking for some true R&R with a chaser of Fun!

    Pre Cruise

We stayed Pre Cruise at Best Western Dania Beach, free airport shuttle, breakfast, a few dining options within walking distance, also a shopping center for any last minute incidentals. Would stay again.

    Embarkation

We took a cab in the morning around 11($20 with tip) no lines got Zone 5, we boarded around 12:15. No lines at Mongolian Wok so we ate there, grabbed a DOD and started vacation. Then went to see if room was open

    Cabin

Deck 10 forward 1018 Balcony, I had taken a chance and took a Guarantee, I felt we scored a great room. We got our work-out used the stairs alot! 100+ for dinner on deck three. Burn the calories for that Choc-Melting Cake!!! Shower and sink we not draining properly told Pi was fixed before we returned to our room.

    Service

We had great service, From checkin to Debarkation. No complaints

    Food

We really cant complain, We never went hungry some meals were better then others. Guys Burgers Yum! Burritos nice option. I didnt have to cook so I loved it!!!

    Entertainment

We checked out a few shows not as horrible as some have said, the performers work hard so hats off the them. LOVE the piano bar!! Jason is great fun and definitely works the crowd. Zoe at the Red Frog( our fav hang out) also was enjoyable. We chatted with her a few nights.

    Ports

We only got off the ship in Cozumel we did the Cozumel Bar Hop. Great fun

(will review on Ports of Call)

    Misc

We tried to spend time in all areas of the ship and pretty much succeeded, Like i said R&R

We loved the staff at Red Frog Pub say hi to Webster!! Oh and the Thirsty Frog Beer.

We had a great trip and wouldnt hesitate to take this ship again.

Any questions feel free to ask Ill check back

  10. TJV123

I personally think you made a great choice, Oasis is my favorite ship. I cant say why but I cant wait to sail her again!! There is so much to see and do, The Aqua Theater is lots of fun, water shows, diving, light shows.. Just make sure to sign up for shows ahead of time, bummer to have to do a bit of preplanning but well worth it. I agree food is a bit better on CCL but you will never go hungry! For such a large ship you never felt the crowds, except at show times and maybe debark, but just go with the flow.

Great Ship to look forward too!

    Enjoy

  11. We would set rules before we even left home. If they wanted some "freedom" these where the rules, otherwise they hang with mom and dad. We would do periodic checkins, so set approx. times to reconnect, always have dinner together, notes in cabin of whereabouts. Depending on the day we would edit times but make it clear what you expect. Also set curfew! It is a bit of work but it worked for us, (not that we didnt hit a few snags..) and the cant we stay out later.. but stick to your guns, so everyone can enjoy
