True, a woman posted on the fb

Ncl latitudes page she is currently on the sailing .She was awaken at 2 am by a loud bang like they hit something or something hit them ,followed by the ship doing a huge dip to one side then back to normal. Followed by a code over the speakers.

Thanks. I’ve noticed they did away with the refund page that had all the requirements on who qualifies for a refund. Or at least I can’t find it. The last time I saw it a couple of weeks ago, it said that FCC issued under the POM policy since August 2021 was non refundable no matter what. Now I can’t find that anywhere.

I’m booked using an FCC from a POM cancellation generated August 2021. Original fare was paid with my card but booked in another persons name. The FCC was then transferred to me and used for my January Encore booking. It is unclear whether I would be able to get a refund even if NCL cancels the sailing

I printed it out. I think this is what you are referring to.

I can't find it now either. Maybe bc they changed to.the above.

  3. Here is the link to the fcc refund-- on the page there is the link to fill out the submission form to get the refund. I just went to the NCL page and put in under search option  fcc refund request and it came up.

    https://www.ncl.com/cruise-faq/future-cruise-credit-refund-requests

    submission form:https://www.ncl.com/cruise-faq/future-cruise-credit-refund-requests

I would also print out under your account in NCL  the fcc's you have and the numbers attached to them. For after Jan 31 they will disappear from the account.  SO if something should happen you have the numbers assigned to them and a print out.

  4. HI

Can someone who stayed in either of these rooms tell me what side the door is on to the cabin?  Strange question I know.  I wanted to see which cabin's door is closest to the entrance to the lounge area.  So I can walk out  my cabin to the door that leads  directly to the lounge area. I know in some ships one of these cabins --the entrance to the lounge is directly across from your cabin door. Thanks

@tumblew467 If you test positive on day 3 of a 10 day cruise, the pro-rated refund would be 70%.

Gotcha,  but what if you are pos at the port? And do not embark. I  understand the FCC that would be offered , but what about the refund.? I saw  pro-rated and was confused by that since you did not embark.

The new design, layout & format isn't exactly user-friendly, take several clicks to cycle thru the options - let's try this, see if you can find it, follow along & do it ... fingers crossed.  I will use the Norwegian Star sailing - August 2022 out of London for this demo, to look for an Obstructed Oceanview since the Balconies are sold out ?? or blocked, not available.

Log in & book to the screen where it give you an overview screen with Obstructed OV and an assigned stateroom number ... the base fares, charges & total, etc.  From there, upper left/middle of that screen on a desktop PC should show you the option to "Choose a Different Stateroom" - highlight & click that, then "Next".  It should then ask you to select a Location - Aft, Mid or Fwd - select/highlight & click "Next".  In this booking, it showed Deck 8 and Deck 9 as available - select Deck 8, click "Next" again; and ... ding, ding, ding

The next screen (see below) should look like this - a partial & sectional view of Deck 8 with all the numbered stateroom on the floor plan - and, a color legend that indicated what is Available, Selected, Connected or Not Available.  Using your mouse/pointer, move that rectangular box on the deck plan up & down, and it will scroll down or up as pointed, and show a different section of that deck & the stateroom info, etc.

On a side note, while it is useful to show the final payment date, the penalty date(s) are just as important to know & should be highlighted, in my opinion for full transparency, but it isn't ...

We have a booking with final payment due at 60 days and cancel without penalty or to make changes, re-price, etc. is at 61 days.  Thankfully, the NCL agent we worked with was good & helpful, pointed it out & reminded us to make a note of it - while reviewing & summarizing the other choices we made, etc. before disconnecting.

Hopefully, this is useful & help you find the info - if not & you have a different sailing date ... some of us can cross-check from our end to see if it is something else.

OK  so in the past you were able to go back to the cruises you were looking at . Like  if you put in May 2022 bermuda it would show you all the cruises. Now I look at lets say May 15 and do not like it. I want to go back to the list of cruises .

I can't- I have to start all over again. So is there a way to go back to the list?

I got this too but not sure of the particulars. Does anyone have a CAS rep they really like? When I just booked a quick 3 night cruise I didn’t care for the rep I got. He seems apathetic and didn’t give me much info, I had to ask everything. Feel free to message me.

Hi  I have used Alan for the last 10 years he is in the corportate office in Miami,He is not back in though till jan 3rd.

@BirdTravelsYour post above applies to passengers who cancel.  But if you test positive at the pier, NCL is denying embarkation.  From your same link above:

Denial of Embarkation or Reboarding; Quarantine and/or Disembarkation**

    • If you, your family members, travelling companions or other close contacts are denied embarkation or reboarding, or are quarantined or disembarked during the voyage, due to a positive COVID-19 test or being suspected of having COVID-19, you and they are entitled to a prorated refund, or an optional Future Cruise Credit (“FCC”), for the amount paid to Norwegian in the event of denial at embarkation, or the unused portion of your fare in all other cases

Can someone explain the pro- rated refund  part?

Cruise line's are NOT going to want to get into the business of validating that kind of info.

Before Covid, when you went to board the ship you filled out a medical form that you attested you had no flu or stomach symptoms in the last 72hr or something like that. If while on the ship, you got sick, they sent notes to your stateroom, and in some cases confined you to quarters depending on how sick you were.

Covid Vaccine certification is IMO going to be closer (not the same but closer) to that process. Maybe they give you the ability to upload or show at the dock your CDC card, but I think they are more likely to have you sign something attesting that you "Certify" you are vaccinated, but it will have harsher language...IF it it determined that you falsified this certification, you will be confined to stateroom, turned over to authorities, banned for life from cruising, etc. Sure you will always get people who lie (aka human). But the more severe the punishment for that lie, the more likely you have a high percentage of people telling the truth.

Who knows what they will do. But this is totally different than having Noro or  the seasonal flu. And how would they  determine if you falsified info on the questionnaire regarding being vaccinated?

How would NCL or any cruise line know someone was vaccinated?

Those cards you get are easily forged/faked.  Signing an attestation is not going to work.

    Just google fake vaccine cards

I know the data of all vaccinated people is in the CDC database, but if you think the cruise lines will be allowed access, you are wrong.

I would think that when it gets closer to your cruise that NCL will have a form to fill out ( release of info) allowing them to get the info from CDC on your status of being vaccinated.

Here in NJ whoever received the vaccine is in the states immunization system. I have my CDC card as well  as my husband and adult son.  I also got 3 individual letters from the state with the state seal   showing where and when we got vaccinated. Now - yes all this can be forged.

So I expect that a release of info form will be given out or it will be added on to the NCL contract  when you are allowed to get the e-docs. It is the only way to confirm that you are vaccinated. Or a release from  your state saying you were vaccinated.

As has  been pointed out by more than one poster on this thread, NCL has stated in writing they will be doing antigen testing. The written material on their website has been quoted  a couple of times already. In addition NCL specifies antigen testing in the Sail Safe plan it submitted to the CDC for approval. Once again here it is: https://www.ncl.com/sail-safe

    "Universal testing & Pre-Embarkation Protocols

All guests will be required to take a COVID-19 antigen test, administered and paid for by the cruise line, prior to boarding and receive a negative result. Guests are also responsible for complying with all local health and safety requirements which may include additional testing."

I understand that, I posted that  as well. post 10

However , like some have said some countries require the PCR. So I guess they are cruising to countries that would accept the antigen verses the PCR. But as Birdtravel stated she is going to Bahamas and they require a PCR. Now you can get that done here prior to flying to the Bahamas. But  flying back to the US do you need a PCR once you disembark? Or will the antigen test that NCL is doing going to be accepted on disembarkation for entry back.

But it's a rapid test and not an equivalent of a PCR test.
Some countries will accept it but many countries will not.

    17 hours ago, BirdTravels said:

Many countries (not the US unfortunately) require a OCR test. The Bahamas requires a PCR test and requires you to buy a COVID Visa and COVID insurance to enter. We are sailing out of Nassau in June and track their requirements to make sure we don’t miss our cruise.

So  how does this work now , Since most require the PCR. And NCL has the antigen test they are going to do. Since they list that under their plan for testing. Cost is cheaper for the antigen test so that is maybe why they went route, But it does not meet requirements for some countries.

  13. 2 minutes ago, ziggyuk said:

Good to know but that wont work for the OP as most countries require a lab test within 72 hours, an antigen test will not cut the mustard.

If they need a lab test within 72 hours the antigen test is ready  anywhere from 15- 45 minutes. Although not as sensitive as the PCR test.

  14. I found this PDF  from NCl  stating they will test prior to disembarkation.

UNIVERSAL TESTING FOR ALL GUESTS & CREW All guests will be required to take a COVID-19 antigen test, administered and paid for by the cruise line, prior to boarding and receive a negative result. In addition, a second COVID-19 antigen test will be administered prior to disembarkation.

Right, I literally said I've never heard of someone testing positive for 3-5 months and the article YOU posted says "UP TO 3 months." UP to isn't the same as EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN. Really? 🙄

And frankly, I don't give a rat's patootie if there ARE a handful of people who tested positive a YEAR after. They're irrelevant, statistically speaking. And furthermore, TESTING positive means nothing if the individual tested has no ACTIVE virus in his system, because he's NO RISK to anyone.

Well, I know of people personally who were vaccinated in the last 2 months that have come down with covid since being vaccinated. So it does happen and yes testing positive for up to 3 months. Testing positive after you have had covid and not being transmissible  is relevant. For those traveling and have to have a neg test prior to boarding. But we all have our opinions.

Those school vaccinations have been around for decades. Our family caught Covid in mid-December. If our bodies have fought the actual virus what does the point in injecting yourself with something created in less than a year and no long term statistics? We called NCL yesterday and the agent said there is a link to a form that you can opt out of the cruises. We couldn't find it but we are curious if The vaccine is mandatory past October and are 13-year-old cannot travel Will they simply give us our money back. I don't see how you can hold on and force more FCC if you change the requirements to be on the ship. Has anyone heard of or seen this form that the agent mentioned?

On the Sail safe FAQ it does mention refunds but that is up to the Oct 2021 sailings

    https://www.ncl.com/sail-safe#sail-safe-faq

If I Already booked a cruise or have a FCC and don't want to get vaccinated , wild the cruise line provide a refund for my cruise?

Yes, if a guest has an active reservation as of April 5, 2021 for a cruise with a vaccination requirement (currently all sailings through October 31, 2021), that the guest is unable to comply with; guest will be permitted to apply the full value of all amounts paid to a new future cruise credit or, at their  discretion, be provided a cash refund in an amount equal to their original cash payment by visiting https://www.ncl.com/case-submission. Refund amount will be subject to Norwegian’s cancelation fee policy communicated to our guests at time of booking and can be found on our website https://www.ncl.com/about/cancellation-fee-schedule

I don't like the idea of being vaccinated if and when I can. However I like the idea of not cruising even less. I will do what I must to cruise, my husband has had both shots, hope our sons get theirs next month when they are eligible but worried our grandson will not be allowed to cruise as he will be 12 in Oct.

Anybody know about children at this time?

Also not sure if they would refund us if we can't sail due to this new requirement which wasn't an issue when we booked our first time in 2019 for 2020. Hoping the third time is the charm for this Oct. 29th.

Thank you as always folk's, stay safe.

Will vaccination be required for NCL August cruises out of Jamaica or out of DR?

    Yes

Each guest must submit proof they have completed the full cycle of required doses for the vaccine administered at least 2 weeks prior to their sail date. Guests who are not old enough to be vaccinated or otherwise not eligible to be vaccinated will not be allowed on these sailings.

Guest vaccination requirements are currently for all sailings embarking through October 31, 2021
