  1. Interesting thread. I am sailing at the moment with my mother who is showing early signs of dementia. She is physically very well, but at the drop of a hat can become totally confused and disoriented. I booked this cruise knowing full well that I would have to be with her constantly, and am very happy to do so, given how much she has given to her children in her lifetime. She loves to cruise, and I don't know how long she will be able to, so for now, we will take it as it comes. I don't believe the problem lies with the cruise line!

Just wondering how you get on with travel insurance for your mum? My dad is 85 and he said he will not go on any further cruises due to the insurance difficulties since he had a heart attack.

  2. How does a pensioner afford a $12000 Celebrity cruise? Wish I could.

We were on a cruise last year and there was a mentally and physically handicap young man on board who every time I saw him was waving his arms madly about and shrieking. It was very uncomfortable for other passengers, particularly those sitting nearby in the dining room, and I really had to question whether he should have been allowed on board. Its not discrimination. Anyone who is dangerous to themselves or others, problematic for staff or likely to hinder the enjoyment of other passengers should be required to inform this to the cruise line at time of booking.

We had a similar situation on our last cruise. Though it was a group of 6 people with a couple of carers.

  3. Hello Susie2shoes,

We found Bernadette in Schooner Bar very attentive and friendly, ask her if she remembers Connie! With your experience you should already know that the balcony cabins are a good size, it was our first Balcony and we loved it.

    Gnomey.

We were served by Bernadette on our Radiance Hawaii-Syd cruise last year. Though she working in the Atrium then.

Wondering if anyone who has cruised Radiance or Rhapsody this season can give me a heads up on what the range of male attire was on formal nights. We need to decide whether we will book somewhere other than the MDR or take clothes to suit.

    Thanks!

I've been on both ships on formal nights. I've seen men dressed in Tuxedos, suits with and without ties and dress pants and jackets with a open neck shirt. My husband has worn all of those except a Tuxedo.
