  1. Hi i am going to be in Mahogany Bay Honduras and want to take an Independent Excursion there....Has anyone have taken an independent excursion there...I am looking to go to Tabyana Beach...and my question is....Do the independent cruise operators pick passengers up right at the dock itself, or do we have to walk outside the gates of Mahogany Bay....if we have to walk outside, is this a very long walk before we get to the tour operators....would appreciate a reply on this.....

Also if i deceide to take the Cruise Excursion to the beach, do we still have a long walk, or they pick passengers up pier side...:):confused::ship::tropical-drink:

  2. Hope they give out the Blanket of the Headphones ......I am on the Carnival Glory September 22, 2018 sailing...Last time that i cruised on the Carnival Paradise, they gave to me as a gift a nice cosmetic bag...I am still using it...I am a platitum member right now....

  3. Princess used to charge single supplement on inisde and OV at 150%, now all cabins are at 200%. That was about 5 years ago or so.

I remember when Princess had the guarantee shared cabins......that is when Sun Princess and Sea Princess were brand new, and they sailed from Fort Lauderdale to the caribbean.....I actually did one guarantee share, but unfortunately it did not work out......

  4. LOVE the pics!

    And, WAY cool video!

I am thinking that that they didn't always do this, except for special occasions. But, they dropped golden(yellow) balloons on the cruises as part of their 50th celebration. It was so popular that I think they do this on most cruises on the first formal night????

If we cruise on the Regal, I am looking forward to this, as I have never been in a real balloon drop this big.

I wish they would drop even more balloons!

They use to do the balloon drop when they had Caribbean Nigh outside on the pool deck,,,the balloon drop took place agt 12 midnight.....they did this on the Sun Princess, and the Sea Princess...it was so much fun..it was the highlight of the cruise....

  5. Hi I will be going on Regal Princess in November...One of the ports of call is Aruba....Princess is offering an excursion to DePalma Island for the day...cost is $99.95 for six hour stay, that is all inclusive including a buffet lunch, and all alocholic beverages....

Was wondering if anyone has done this excursion before, and how you enjoyed it.... Hope to hear from someone soon..

  6. I am sailing the seaside October 12, 2019..I have the FANTASTICA EXPERIENCE with a 12drink vouchers plus a mealtime drink package....so what you are saying is my vouchers and free mealtime drinkpackage will not be valid for the cruise:mad:

  7. I am booked on the MSC SEASIDE for October 2019 with the Fantastica Experience as well with the vouchers and mealtime pavkage...so you s re saing they are not going to be homoring this deal after march of 2019? If this is the case...I will be calling up MSC tomorrow and cancelling my cruise out even if I am status matched....that is sneaky and cruel...

  8. Yes, but it's only fountain soda, from a gun. No cans included.

I think it's $8.05 per day, and must be purchased for the entire cruise.

Check your cruise personalizer to see what the total would be for your cruise

If you have the soda and more package and you want soda, can you ask for a can of soda, instead of soda by the gun....or will you be charged for the can of soda?

  9. Gratuities are paid as part of our cruise fare, either before we cruise or billed later. WHY must we feel the need to add MORE gratuities?

Is it because Carnival has cut back so much that these guys are cleaning far more cabins than they legitimately can manage and we feel the need to give them extra because they have done all of that and still met our needs?

:evilsmile:Or, is it because what used to be a 3-man team in the dining room is now a 2-man team, handling MORE TABLES?

If we are ALREADY being charged gratuities, then WHY? :o

I always prepay my gratuities....I am a solo traveler....so to me, the gratuities that i pay i feel is enough....I dont go to any particular bar every day....nor do i go to the MDR for dinner every night...I vary my dinners to the specialty restaurant ...the buffet...the deli....Guys Burgers, and the Blue Iguana....So the $91.00 that i prepay for the gratutiy for the week i feel is sufficient....I know other people tip above and beyond...and that is good....to each their own....

  10. Yes, but if you want to see the main show in the show lounge, it kind of messes up the evening's schedule.

I agree with you Floridalover.....I am sailing on the Regal Princess this coming november...i pick Any Time Dining....I have done this type of dining on other lines...I like eating at 5:30 as i like to enjoy the experience...and i dont have to rush through dinner....I like making the first show, which i believe starts at either 7PM or 7:30...I have tried 8:00 dining, but that is far too late for me....so hopefully all works out well for me...I am a solo traveler and am hoping just to get a table for 2....:)

  11. I am a solo traveler, and have one 28" piece of luggage that i give to the porters....I tip $3 that is it...I dont know whether they still have the sign in Port Everglades, but i saw it, and it did say tipping porters is at your own discretion....Up in tampa, at the cruise terminal there, the porters do greet you as you get out of the taxi, and they tell you up front,...that they will take your bags...and it is at your own descretion to tip...you are treated very decently....not like down in Port Everglades or Miami...these guys are union workers...and they do not work for the cruiselines...

  12. Yes this happened to many on Divina. There are older threads with this advice good to bring it back up.

Remember this is a European cruise line so everything goes thru their bank in France.

It's not just the transaction fees it's charges being declined because your cc company or bank thinks it's a fraudulent charge. Let your bank and/or cc company know ahead of time so you won't run into issues, islands your traveling to and the foreign bank.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app

Hi Crzyfrk62....that happened to me when i sailed on the MSC Divina....before i left home, i had called up my CC Company and told them exactly where i was going on vacation, and that i will be using the CC for onboard purchases...Also told them the Ship is a European Liner and transactions go through their bank in France.... At the end of the cruise...i had gotten my bill...it said to look it over...if i agree with all purchases, to just sign bill, and leave it on the vanity in the cabin....When i was about disembark, i had given security my card...when he swiped it it beeped, and i had to go to Customer Service.... She was very rude with me, telling me that there was not enough money on my cc to pay for the purchases...they would not even let me use there phone to call my cc company to find out what was going on, as i had more than enough money to pay for these purchases...plus the little cash that i did bring with me, i had used on the islands..to make a long story short, when i did get to call my cc company, they saw that MSC put another hold on my cc, and saw all transactions from a european bank, so they blocked my card, so no other purchases could be made....

I had told them that i had called them up before i took my cruise, to tell them i was using the card to open up an onboard account, and that this was a european liner, and transactions will be coming from a foreign bank, they apolized to me, told me that the person was only doing his/her job...and they were looking out for my well being....since then, i would never use that credit card again for taking cruises....

  13. Our 12/23 sailing no longer has the coupon option for drink packages. Very odd because just 2 weeks ago when we booked that was an option. We bought the fantasica package so entitled to 12 vouchers each. We thought would buy one more 18 drink package to share between hubby and myself. I sure hope we can still do that when we get on the ship.

Anyone talk to a TA that specializes in MSC to see what the cruise lines intentions are with their drink package/programs?

I am surprised that they are not clarifying why they no longer available to purchase.;);p:cool:

I was told from a rep at MSC that the vouchers were discontinued....it is a shame..as i had sailed the MSC Divina and have coupons left over, that i was told i can use on my next cruise....i dont know whether it is just for the MSC Seaside, or both MSC Divina and MSC Seaside, but again was told that they dont use the vouchers or coupons for drinks anymore....What a bummer!!!!:(

  14. This charge is something new that Carnival just implemented....I had ordered two six packs of coca cola, and eight Budweiser Beers in the aluminum bottles....I had ordered these items before the new charge was added....I had called up Carnival when i found out about this new charge, to make sure i wasn't charged this, as i had put my order in for these items before the new charge came in affect...They had told me that i will not be charged for this charge....

  15. And don’t forget to call your credit company to let them know you will be using it on the cruise. One of our family found out the hard way. It was on a different cruise line but applies here. She gave her credit card when they embarked but when she went to leave the last day she was refused exit because her card was declined. The credit card company had detected unusual activity, tried to call her and couldn’t reach her because her phone was off so they put a hold on her account. She had to go back to guest services to get it resolved.

Eanselm...that is true.....because the same situation happened to me....first of all when you register your credit card, MSC only takes a small hold of $150 on the card...This was on MSC Divina....I had purchased a few items...and wanted to purchase something else...but was told that they would have to put another hold on the credit card, which i allowed them to do...the morning of debarkation i received my bill and checked it over, everything was fine....it said to leave the bill on the vanity, if i agreed and i did...when i was about to leave the ship, same thing happened to me, i was refused exit....they wouldn't even let me resolve this with my credit card using their phone...so i had to return the item to finally get to exit the ship....

But what i found out through my credit card was that MSC uses a foreign bank in france, for all of the transactions....and when they went and put another hold on my credit card, the credit card company caught this, and thought that there were fraudulent charges being charged to my credit card so they blocked the card....which was unfortunate for me...but they were only doing their job... when i called the credit card company up before i went on this cruise, i had told them that i was going on a caribbean cruise for seven nights, and that i was going to be using the card for onboard purchases....and when they saw transactions being made from a foreign bank...that put the red flag up.... MSC put a bad taste in my mouth after that, because their customer services, were far from nice to me...I felt i was treated like a thief.... It took my four years to book another MSC cruise...but i believe i am going to open up a cash account so this way i dont have to deal with something like this again.....I had more than enough money on the credit card that i used....and had to beg the credit card company to unblock my account, as i was left with no money, as i spent all the cash on the islands... A big lesson to be learned.....so i can imagine how the lady must of felt like when she was refused to leave the ship

  16. The new policy was published about two months ago. I have copies of before an after and it definitely used to be per member, not per cabin.

I just became a Black Card Member on MSC (through Status Match)...I received the email from MSC, with a little picture of the black member card...but so far have not received the new card from them .... I am going on the Seaside in October...and was wondering should i contact to see why i have not received the new Black Member Card, or should i just bring the email that i have with me, and go to guest services when i get onboard....would they be able to print me out a Black Member Card?

Would appreciate it very much, if you can get back to me at :

  17. No, the plan is to make it across the fleet eventually. At first all ships were to have it by the end of 2020 but now that has probably slipped. The four were chosen to be the first to get ***** originally.

The big plan for Carnival Corp is to have all of their 100+ ships using the new technology eventually. They chose Princess to be the first cruise line of their corporate group to implement it which Princess has labeled *****.

Do you think that the Ocean Medillion will be working by November 1, 2018, as i am sailing the Regal Princess on a 10 night caribbean repro cruise?

  18. Yes.. 56$ per person total for the upgrade. That is for a 7 day cruise.

I do not understand this at all $56 to upgrade from a mealtime package to a deluxe package for the entire 7 day cruise? This does not sound right to me..

I am on the Seaside in October 2019...and i have right now a mealtime package....if i want to upgrade to a classic or deluxe package how much extra would it cost me? I am sailing solo...and everyone is saying $399 per couple to upgrade...so then if for one person, it would cost me $200 to upgrade? Can anyone help me out here?

Please contact me at catfin7atgmaildotcom....Thank You

  19. On the Mealtime Drink Plan....what drinks are included? Is it just wine and draft beer....or do you also get an additional 12 vouchers for frozen drinks, bottled bee, and glasses of wine? If not, can i upgrade my mealtime plan to one of the upgraded drink plans?

    Please contact me at catfin7atgmaildotcom...

  20. Has anyone used the Miami Port Express Shuttle from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Port of Miami...If so, can you tell me your experience using this shuttle service....This service only services from airports to piers....Obviously this must be new....It says it picks up at all terminals....and it is only $19 per person to go to POM from Fort Lauderdale Airport....Before i make a final decision, i would like to hear from someone that has used this, and is it a reliable service....you can get back to me at catfin7atgmaildotcom....
