  1. RCCL newly. I am only able to secure one beach club full day pass at coco cay.  I reserved it on hopes that another pass will come available before we sail or once onboard.  We are in a suite and I think we could be placed on a priority wait list.  Does anyone have experience with this, does this seem reasonable/even possible, or should I cancel 48 hours before sailing?  How do I get on a waitlist?  Concierge?  Shore excursion desk?  We are in an owner’s suite, not Star Class - it was not available when we booked.
New to RCCL, but not new to cruises - Elite+ on Celebrity, so Diamond reciprocity on RCCL - that probably doesn’t make a difference for shore excursions.

  2. I think they do. We are in a Royal suite with all restaurants included, so I didn’t even check on restaurant offers. I do notice just about every day in front of the entry to the buffet, there are people offering deals for the specialty restaurants. I suppose the deals offered will depend on the sailing and the number of openings they have.
The aft cabins are great!  In years past we have had several corner aft suites.
The Silhouette is beautiful, have fun on your cruise.

  3. The cabin might be more private that I made it appear. I did lean out to take the photo.

The cruise is great. We love the ship. We have sailed several times a year only since 2007, second time on Silhouette. The refurbishment is great. The staff are beyond great, happy to be on the ship.
One case of covid reported by the captain, the husband and wife are quarantined. I don’t know any more than that. The ship is very clean, staff wear masks and “guests” choose whether or not to wear them, a few do. We avoid crowds, but get out and around the ship. Things feel safe, but viruses are invisible, so, while not being too paranoid, we do our best to keep out of harm’s way.
I hope you find a great cabin, and in the long run, no balcony is completely private.

  4. We did take the class, and it was a lot of fun!  We didn’t get to go behind the bar, but just had instruction and we observed the process. We definitely participated in the tasting of the 4 drinks - no possible way to have survived upright with 6 drinks. One bartender did not show up, but we had a blast with the one who did.
It was worth the fee and if offered, we will give it a try again when we sail on an S-class ship again.
Thanks for the reminder of the recipes, the bartender had to leave and didn’t give them out. We will check back- she had great recipes.

  5. I can see it from my balcony, I’ll try to get a picture from the outside for you.
Plus, keep in mind all of the Silhouette cabins have been refurbished with really nice carpet, couches and bedding.
people who have actually stayed in that cabin or the one on the opposite side will have more info about what it is like to stay there and could have posted on the s-class cabin info page.

We thought the lead for C'est Bon was great too - i dont think the errors were her part.  It may be they have a new member or 2 and need more rehearsal.

Changed my mind. Tonight the Cardinals sound great again. It must’ve been me, or the songs I heard. Can’t help but enjoy their energy!

The entertianment still dies down quickly before midnight.  Last night the ship was almost 100% after midnight.  The quality of the performers vary as well.  The house band (The Cardinals) are fantastic - very talented lead singer.  They gave a performace last night in the center and people were able to watch down from multiple decks.  It almost felt like a concert.  The argentinian band C'est si bon was not as bon.  It was ok listening to at the bar, but they seemed to have several mistakes between the 4 members being on different keys or verses.

Great to follow your Live Review, it is enjoyable to hear various perspectives. Thank you.
Funny, I felt absolutely the opposite about the bands. If you listen to the Cardinals from far away, the lead cannot hold a note. He certainly THINKS he is great.
We watched/listened to the Cardinals on the previous Dec 3 leg and thought they were much better then - kept wondering if they switched out the lead. Different music?
When we listened to the C’est Bon we thought the lead was great, she also plays the trumpet.
So happy they have a variety of live entertainment. Not too crazy about the DJ mixes, but not bad.

Thoughts about the ping pong table for us were the same, but it used to be outdoors and because of the wind, the ball was tough to keep track of. 🤣

I hope it is okay, that I wrote my thoughts here.

  8. We had to show an original vax card, just like showing our original passport before the initial boarding of the ship.
We have been told to take a copy of our vax card with us on shore, but have never been asked to show it on this southern Caribbean Silhouette cruise. We are on the ABC’s B2B next, so we will continue to take ours with us and see what they require.
Some islands have been very strict with mask wearing and even have temp measuring devices when you sanitize your hands in order to enter the retail stores, and other islands have seemed just slightly more relaxed. In January, things could be a little bit different.

  9. Wow, that’s horrible!  Sorry this has happened to you.
And of course a person would trust that what they were told on the phone is what would happen.
    Best wishes for a successful

cabin assignment. We will all go forward with a little more info, thank you for sharing your experiences.
As minute as the elite and elite plus benefits have become, they do help a little if you’re not in a suite.

On the Silhouette in Luminae you should be able to order from the Luminae menu or the MDR menu, best of both.  We love  Murano and the Lawn Grill but those menus don’t change so we book them on non EC nights.

On EC nights Luminae, Blu and the MDR have their best menus.

I thought this might be the case, and is partially why I was trying to decide if it warranted eating at Murano or LCGrill on EC.  I couldn't remember, and since we had to cancel our Sept cruises, I didn't have a memory refresher.  We are traveling with some first time on Celebrity cruisers (AQ) who will only have a few nights they want to choose for Specialty dining, so I want them to be able to enjoy the best days for great meals in Blu or Luminae with us.  None of us are so set for special foods, (and I forgot that we can order from other menus in Blu or Luminae) that we couldn't just eat in the buffet, but dressing up and going to dinner can be fun.

Again, thanks everyone for the thoughts and ideas for EC dining selection.

  11. If you can swing it, bid on the Haven 3 bedroom villa, it is more than amazing.  Private hot tub and steam room, two decks, personal bar, indoor and outdoor dining tables, amazing views.  If you like music, you can watch and listen to the pool bands.  Lots of fabulous extras and all the attention to details from the concierge, the butler, the room attendant and deck/pool attendant.
