  1. This is fascinating! I also mean no disrespect, do all book a hotel while traveling based on the hotel manager, housekeeping manager, concierge, etc? I feel a happy cruiser helps set the tone for all involved. If one is rude, demanding, mad because the ship has a lot of people, seas are rough, etc is something I think we all don't want. I feel these people just want names to yell at.

To stay on task, I am in awe of you guys that know and are passionate about this stuff.

  2. Have to agree with Bosco.. enough with the pumpkin craze! Not sure why anyone would put anything into a fine maple butter! Although I will not share this with DW as she might!

Hey.. maybe orange cheddar is really pumpkin cheddar!

i will try and find Reblochon in the US for the next batch of potato leek soup.

  3. Greetings All!

I also like the jam, jelly, stuff lesson but I must digress back to Cheddar Cheese! Today I saw an ad for French Onion Soup topped with Vermont Cheddar Cheese! Be still my heart. I hope this does not upset the purest French Onion Soup makers but I for sure will be topping mine with a very Sharpe aged Vermont Cheddar this winter.

And yes, let's start taking whatever cheese offerings we can on you next cruise and post here.

And speaking of butter... some have a very special love for Maple Butter!

  4. Could the orange cheddar be found on the Escape! Just so our NCL friends know, I don't care for orange but the OP was looking for it. NCL may keep a loyal customer. For me, I will wait to review my cheese escapades upon my return from the Getaway in January. Now to find out what Bovril is!!!

  5. In the spirit of the OP and keeping this cheesy thread going..... Since many people like their cheese on stuff, what would happen if you put Orange Cheddar on a good batch of Fish and Chips? Or maybe we need an activity on the ship in proper fish n Chips or biltong making?

  6. Here I sit watching American Football played in London! What's better is I looked up a UK recipe of Cheese and Rice and what do I find??? An advertisement for VT based Cabot Cheddar! Now how does my Sunday get better than that? Maybe NCL will put Cheese and Rice on the menu with VT Cheddar, Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog and John Cleese as guest in the comedy club!

  7. So many updates to reply too...

    1) when you got stuck in the mud in the Spring in Vermont, that was not spring but our 5th season..Mud Season.

    2) would definitely put our VT white Cheddar against any NY stuff.

    3) I have to decide if I want to spend my money on some of the UK cheese or another cruise!

    4) VT cheese increases brain cell development.

  8. I booked a jet ski tour through shoreexcursioneer that turned out to be from the Krazy Lobster... I'm not sure if the price would be better booking direct, but I just wanted to have a for sure reservation.

Did you go on the tour with them yet or just booked a reservation?

    Thanks!

  9. There are plenty of reviews of beach clubs but nothing recently on ones ability to rent jet ski's. There seems to be a couple of "excursions" at Krazy Lobster Beach or Tequila Beach Club. Are there any recommendations out there on these or are jet ski's plentiful along the Beach?

    Thanks!

  10. We are interested in the ability to climb the ruins. Dzibanche looks like the only option but we would love to combine this with authentic food not the box lunch. Do you know if there is time to grab some local food during the break stops and or at Bacalar Town stop?

  11. It may have little to do with cruising .... I've had this:

BPPV IS THE MOST COMMON VESTIBULAR DISORDER.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (or BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo,

    a false sensation of spinning.

    • Benign – it is not life-threatening
    • Paroxysmal – it comes in sudden, brief spells
    • Positional – it gets triggered by certain head positions or movements
    • Vertigo – a false sense of rotational movement

    • Go see your Doctor

A good PT can treat this. I recommend you visit and have them treat you for the BPPV. My rocks were shifted in the inner ear and after a PT treatment all is fine.
