  1. First and foremost, spend all energy thinking good thoughts.

Second, don't jump the gun. Wait for Physician's report as to whether he can travel. Immediately upon the Physician says he CANT travel, then call the insurance compAny for guidance

Thank you, I have helped a lot of cruisers with my information and I appreciate your helping me

  2. After 37 cruises, looks like we are going to have to file a claim. Leaving Saturday, May 23, have Travel Guard Insurance. Husband has to have a CT Monday because of blood clots in urine, he is 73. He wants to go but there is a good possibility that won't be possible.

Just want to know if anyone has first hand knowledge with Travel Guard and the procedure to file a claim of trip cancellation. Also, first hand knowledge of any Carnival credit on another cruise or are we out of luck which doesn't really matter since we have the insurance. Do you call your PVP asap, Also have ordered liquor for delivery to our cabin from Fun Shops, any idea of cancellation policies, tried to find something about this.

We will have to cancel probably Tuesday after the CT. I'm trying to stay positive but it's not looking good.

I have been a member of Cruise Critic for over 10 years and really hope I can get some help here. I have a lot of other things on my mind with my DH so thanks alot for anything you all can tell me.

  3. I noticed the Breeze a few months ago, had this offer.... Any drink, double the alcohol for $3.00 but only in the dining room, theatre, and comedy club. I enjoy a drink at dinner but sometimes wonder "where's the alcohol". Does anyone know if this is still being offered.

  4. Yes, took pics of the menus and food porn, and lots of drinks lol. They did have the Hub App and Internet packages, I'll talk more on that for sure as I continue with the review.

so I'm going to assume you like cruising on the breeze if this will be ur 3rd. I'm having a hard time with it. Not that we didn't like her she's an awesome ship, but I want to try new ships and next yr the itinerary we love is on the breeze. Kids love her hubby too so the fine with it I just can't get there yet lol.

We've cruised the Breeze 3 times because of the itineraries. We usually pick our cruise by itinerary. But we have cruised on probably 20 of Carnival ships.

  5. First of all, I didn't use my loyalty perks as a basis of comparison. I just said I missed them. Secondly, the crew was amazing. The ship was in great shape. The ports were beautiful. All in all it was a great cruise. But, I found that prices for phone home, drinks, bingo, laundry, were more than Carnival. There was no lacking in food choices with all the specialty restaurants. In my opinion, which is subjective, the food on Carnival was a bit better. Not majorly but I preferred Carnival. Also the cabin is larger on Carnival but NCL's bathroom had Carnival beat. I loved the glassed in shower compared to Carnival's shower curtain. Activities were another area that NCL lacked in. I do not enjoy lying in the hot sun all day. This is certainly my choice. So instead I enjoy trivia and other games that Carnival offers. NCL does not offer many trivia games (3 a day) and those were at meal times. I like name that tune type of games as well as scattegories and the hasbro games that Carnival has. The casino was good to me. I didn't lose. I actually won a few bucks and by a few I mean maybe $40-$50. Not a lot but I played probably 15-20 hours during the week and that's a lot of entertainment. I don't care for NCL's ticket cash out, much prefer Carnivals casino account on your sail and sign card.

Another area that NCL shines is in it's lack of photographers. You can actually enjoy the ship without photographers trying to capture your every move at dinner, on elegant night and when arriving in the ports. They are not in your face.

All in all, it's basically what you enjoy doing on a cruise. That is the comparison between ships. Also, after 32 cruises on Carnival, I know exactly what to expect. A newbie on NCL is clueless. There are probably hundreds that prefer NCL to my one that doesn't.

  6. Sorry for not mentioning, our wait staff in the dining room was amazing, especially Leo. Our cabin steward was also great...ice, towel animals. We tipped extra for both. Didn't bring on wine. There is no limit but you must pay on embark $15 or $30 depending on size. If you are like me, that's more than I pay for the bottle of wine. Daughter took a large cooler filled with sodas, juice and water, no problem. Just checked it.

  7. Yes, I'm a traitor but it's my daughter's fault. She chose it. Basically there is no comparison. Carnival won hands up. The major thing I missed was my Diamond perks: free laundry, priority embark/debark, priority tender, and so much more. NCL prices were more for phone home, bingo, drinks, etc. Carnival had an edge on food, larger cabins, more activities. Didn't see any of the evening shows. Casino was good to me . Didn't win much but didnt lose much after hours and hours in the Casino. It is what it is when it comes to gambling. BTW I was on the Dawn. Next cruise is May 23 on the Carnival Breeze, home again. Any questions

  8. Sailing on the Splendor October 4, out of NYC and know nothing about this port. This will be my 31st Carnival cruise and have never sailed out of NYC. Just wondering about what time to arrive. Most ports we arrive around 10:00, check-in and wait for boarding. However, a few ports will not even let you in the parking lot until 11:00. Namely Jacksonville and previously Mobile. Does NYC port allow you to arrive early or should we plan on arriving later, say 11:00. We figure it is better to wait at the port instead of sitting in the hotel room. Thanks for your help.

  9. No way. We absolutely love the 4Js and book them whenever we can get one, they go quickly. It's better than an oceanview because you just walk out of your cabin, around the corner and out the door to a "private" deck area. Not many people find these deck areas. The only cabin I would trade for is a balcony.

  10. I have an obsession with trivia. I go to every game. I win more than lose but after winning once, I subsequently give the SOAS to the second place person. I have almost 20 different SOASs, collected from 20 ships. I probably need only 5-6 to complete my set. I will be going on 2 different ships in the upcoming months and hope to bring home 1 from each.

I too believe that 1 is enough. BTW, one says Tournament Champion, I won the slot tournament and received a SOAS as well as $500 and a Tshirt.

  11. I have had my PVP for over 10 years and have booked 31 cruises through her. She is considered one of their top producers. I am constantly on Carnival's website checking the rates of my upcoming cruises for price drops, etc. She never calls me and knows when I am ready to book I will call her completely informed on what I want. Thank goodness she doesn't call me when she sees I'm on or she would be calling me everyday.

  12. Carnival added another cruise since the Freedom 8/24 sold out so fast. When my PVP told me I booked it right away since it is so cheap. Check out the Glory 5/31. With the Casino cash and free drinks in the Casino its a no trainer. Went on a premier casino cruise last October and was treated like a VIP.
  13. The pork chop is delicious as well as the steak and eggs. Get the steak medium and it will be just right. Also love the bread basket. You can use your drink coupon to get a can of beer unopened and drink it later. My DH likes Guiness and we ususally each order one unopened and he enjoys them later. If it is around noon, I will order a fruity drink and head to the casino after.
