Hey I just got a call from the upsale Butterfly and we booked both GV for the price of an inside and all of our 38 group members are staying in both Suite and there we are doing our best to be uninteresting and boring ....und dann machen wir Bums falla :):):):)

I'm always amazed how smooth drone footage comes out. The ending was especially amazing seeing the reef in the water. Thank god all turned out well.

Ok, now I'm wavering to the 2 bedroom. Dh will probably freak as the $1500 is our entire week at Disney at the end of August, but I want this trip to be special. If we have to cancel free dining to do this, than I will.

 

Oh, and price is for first 2 occupants. So $2900 + $1500 upgrade = $4400 for 2 bedroom - about the same price as the penthouse I booked for Feb 2017.

SORRY! The penthouse would be nice too. I don't want DH hunting me down at sailaway! :o

I wouldn't do the deluxe owners. It's just one big room. The 2 bedroom sounds nice though. YAY!

We too sailed on Gem so many times! ... but the ship is wonderful. We're probably going again this year too.

Agree. Love them Gem. I'll be sailing on her for the 4th time in 10 days. That being said, things are always changing and we'll adjust to whatever happens.

I just hope they keep 2 ships sailing from NYC year-round. It's nice to have a choice.

That's our sailing. Chances are the upsell fairy has been busy. However the number of people in the roll call is pretty small compared to the number of people on the ship so it's not surprising that they havent been called. I'm not involved in the roll call as it doesn't really interest me. If I get a call I'll post it, but I highly doubt that would happen as we are booked in a minisuite. My guess is that they would start with the pent houses and try to upsell to them? Those two bedroom suites are pretty tempting even at the current pricing.

I didn't notice more motion but it will be windy when you are standing. Sitting down the wind will not be an issue.

Yes. A lot of cruisers prefer the aft wake view and the sound of the wake. It's a great choice. As far as more movement its possible but I have never noticed a lot more movement either way.

Yeah well I hate to say it but I hate celebrity week on that show, it really is the dumbed down version. Even Wheel of Fortune had a mensa member. It was obvious it was the great wall of china so lets buy a u.

I'm looking forward to my very first cruise to Bermuda!!! I have been saying I'm going to give Bermuda a try for at least the last 2 years, but just now getting around to it. We will be there in 24 days+ Woo Hoo.

 

I am also getting anxiety over all the recent discussions around the boards with all of the changes taking place with NCL. I don't find them positives and I think the communication with these changes have been pretty darn crappy. However, most of them do not really pertain to us and they are things we "normally" don't do. So, I will be anxious to find out how this all works on my upcoming cruise.

 

I'm also excited to be trying out the Dawn since I have never been on this ship yet (but have been on her sister ship the Star a few years ago). :)

Yes. There are tons to do on the Gem. Don't worry, go with an open mind and a good attitude and have fun! Vacation is what you make of it.

We were on the Jewel during Hurricane Sandy, we left NY an hour before they closed the entire port down. We hugged the coast all the way down to Port Canaveral but boy what a wild ride. Wine glasses smashing to the ground in the cabin, both of us rolled OUT of the bed. Not that we slept. :rolleyes: I understand how scary that could be. Glad you had a good time despite the rocky start.

That metric might be the most important one for corporate to pay attention to- immediate feedback regarding the changes and how those changes are received by the passengers. I know that I was going to buy one or two on the Breakaway but not now.

I agree. I've decided not to buy one also and see how everything shakes out. We'll be on the Gem in 3 weeks so I'll be able to get a feel firsthand.

It will be interesting to see how many people stop buying FCC's.

To the OP: there are showers on the pool deck. I don't recall how private they are and obviously they're there for quick showers before/after using the pool. But they could be an option. Deck 12:
