  1. No proof just the figures don’t add up as shown earlier in this thread. If the crew got all the tips we pay the stateroom attendants would be earning nearly $1000 a week which I’m sure isn’t the case so where is all the money going?

RCI aren’t stealing from me and I’ll continue to sail with them as I like their product.

RCI are US based with US policies and I understand the whole tipping culture as I also have a home in the US. So how about making it fair By having US pricing for the rest of the world instead of greatly increased prices in the UK. And I do have proof of that!

  2. My husband and myself sail on Rhapsody from Venice to Barcelona with our daughter in the same stateroom.

My daughter gets off at Barcelona while we go transatlantic to Tampa.

When we arrive at Barcelona will our daughter have to disembark early then wait for us to check in for our next cruise or will she be allowed to stay on the ship a little longer?

We plan to spend a little time with her in Barcelona before she needs to head to the airport but we haven't done back to back before so not really sure how it'll work.

  3. Just returned from a great itinerary on Oceana our first P&O cruise. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian so we are not new to cruising.

Most things were fine apart from the Plaza buffet. My husband was twice elbowed in the head whilst enjoying his lunch but to top it all he found himself chewing on a rubber band that had been in his curry dish. He very nearly swallowed it which could have had major consequences. We spoke to the buffet manager Who escalated the complaint higher for which we received an apology.

Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

  4. You have to be concerned since they may not be ALLOWED by law to show goodwill.

And why do you think you deserve it anyway? A lot of people have spent thousands of dollars. Why are you so special that they should break policy just for you?

Why the nasty reply. Us folks outside of USA have different regulations. We pay higher prices and are treated differently? Why??

  5. Just be careful you don't fall foul of the Jones Law.

We booked B2B Alaska from Seattle ending in Vancouver. Then Vancouver to Hawaii. Our TA called a couple of days later to say we couldn't start a cruise in one state and end in another so had to cancel one of them!

I'd never heard of this Law until now

  6. I think a better option would be to offer both traditional and dynamic. My husband and myself prefer a table for two but on only one cruise out of eight has this request been granted. We therefore don't use the main dining room along with a lot of others judging by the number of empty tables or tables for 12 with only two or four occupants!

If they gave us the choice of traditional or dynamic when booking our cruise they could divide the dining room accordingly and hopefully please the majority.

Another option would be to provide traditional but guarantee to give people the size of table they want but also provide dynamic so people aren't stuck with dining at the same time each evening or having to book a specific time in advance.

There'll always be people with different views and that's the way the world works but if there's a choice you could please most people
