I used Bruce's Taxi Tours last fall. This was the best excursion on our trip. Bruce was great and helped set up some great photos. He has a great eye for photography. Took us to many great spots. Would highly recommend.

I have heard Carnival being referred to as "Walmart of the Seas" on several occasions, so we decided to try a different line this year, since we had only been on Carnival and had nothing to compare it to, but we knew we have always loved Carnival.
So we just got back from our Norwegian cruise. We were completely bored. The crew was rude. The food was hit or miss (we actually preferred the buffet to the MDR). They did not have comedy clubs (which we love). Other than the beautiful ports, we were just not impressed. Now don't get me wrong, we didn't have an awful time, just not as good as we were used to.
So needless to say, we have decided to stick with Carnival since we have never had these issues, and are already planning our next 2 cruises with them.
Guess we just like Walmart!!!;p
I have to admit I have heard this quote and have been steered away from Carnival in the past. I have cruised RCCL, Celebrity, Princess, And NCL in the past 4 years. I am going to try my first Carnival cruise later this year, partially because I have recently met a TA that specializes in Group Carnival cruises. Looking forward to formulating my own opinion later this year. PS I do shop at Walmart regularly

I used Bruce's Taxi tours last fall. Great price and great tour

We did a tour with Bruce's Taxi Tours last fall with two other couples from my roll call. Bruce was great and we went many places. Bruce is also very interested in photography so he took us to many scenic spots and helped set up some great shots. He has different combinations of tours and will take you where you want to go. Very well priced tours. I would highly recommend him.

We did 10 day Canada and New England out of New York on 10th of October last fall. Colours were close to peak in most ports. Loved this cruise. We cruised on Caribbean Princess.

Try QLS. Reliable and decent price

We are just off of the Escape last week. The second night is when more people get dressed up. (night when you can have pictures with captain) Found that a lot of men wore shorts at night on this cruise, even in some of the specialty restaurants. A fella ate in shorts at Le Bistro but sat in the atrium part of the restaurant when we were there.

Last week they showed Star Trek Beyond, The Blind Side, ET the Extra Terrestrial, Mary Poppins, Pro Bowl Game

There are hoodies and jackets available at reasonable prices in all Alaska ports, and they make a good souvenir. If you go out on deck most of the time you will need a sweater or jacket. I was comfortable on the ship with capris, tshirt and sandals during the day.

What part of July were you there?
It was the 1st week of July. 3rd to 10th
-
We cruised in July last year. and had above average temps. Ketchikan was 80 and Skagway was in the 70's. There were definitely people in shorts and capris on our cruise. Also Seattle was 90 at sail away. The jacket I took I only wore once. We also had dry weather. You really need a mixed bag of clothes for Alaska, you just never know.

We were on Solstice and I found the formal nights more casual. A lot more pant suits or pants and blouse. More men with just sports jackets or even just casual pants and a shirt.(a lot without tie). Formal nights were 2 and 6 on our cruise

My husband is a pd patient. We have done two cruises in the past year. My husband uses the cycler at home but before the 1st cruise learned capd. Baxters makes most of the arrangements with cruise ship and your renal unit. Supplies were on board when we arrived. Last cruise they phoned me and told me who received order and the time it arrived. Baxter's provides a great service.

I cruised Alaska the 1st week of July last year. We had some hot days even in port. There was a port day that I wore sandals and capris. The only day that it was cold was cruising Tracey Arm. Just need to be prepared for any type of weather.

Thanks for the detailed review and great info. We are leaving on the 28th.

I am pretty sure that the spa is open 8am to 10pm.

We'll be on our cruise the first week of July on the Legend. What is it like on the ship? Should I take warm clothes or would capris be ok? I'm from the south and having a really hard time figuring out what to take:) any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated .
We went to Alaska the same week last year. You need to be prepared for any type of weather. It was actually hot in a couple of ports, high seventies. We had dry weather and I wore sandals capris and a t-shirt a lot of the time with a light jacket or hoodie at night.

There are a number of Alaska one week that leave Wed or Thurs. There are a couple of Carnival Caribbean that leave Wed.

I have never been on a Carnival cruise and have two booked in the next year. My best friend has recently taken up cruising and likes Carnival. One reason is we have a friend who is a Carnival cruise specialist and offers some perks and group sailings.
I have cruised once on Celebrity, Princess, and twice on NCL and RCCL. The dress code on a lot of ships is becoming less dressy.
Recently sailed on the NCL Escape which I really liked. Lots to do, love the 24 hour restaurant, Specialty restaurants were great(had the 3night dining as a perk), loved the waterfront deck area to sit.
