Is the capetown guide as wonderful as the Bali guide you recommended  ( and we loved). We'll be in Capetown for a week in November

    Hello Mrs f,

Godfrey is an older gentleman (in his 60s), wonderful person, on time, fair price and he has been in the business for many, many years. Dewa has a very special place in my heart as he is like a son to me. Godfrey is like a good friend. I know you will love him. I only post info on drivers who have passion and are great human beings…

Say hi to Godfrey from Chantal & Dennis.

  2. As you might know, it is very important for me to share great drivers/guides as I always do a LOT of research to find the guides/drivers we will be using for our future trips…

I booked Augusto many months ahead of our arrival on Seabourn cruise (Feb 25-26, 2024). Gus was super quick to respond all my emails and he was very flexible. I already knew he could drive/guide us in his vehicle so I inquired if he could handle a group of 10. He informed me it was not a problem as he could rent a 15-passenger van with a driver.
On Feb 25, we were a group of 7 and we visited Petropolis. We really enjoyed it. Gus was super informative. He is a great teacher, very patient and full of passion.
On Feb 26, we were a group of 9 and we visited the highlights of Rio de Janeiro. What a great time we all had.

Do not hesitate to hire Gus. His English is perfect, he is patient and he will not disappoint you! It is obvious he loves his job. We all loved him.

  3. I am delighted you had a great time with “our son”. He is truly a special man, full of passion. This is why we can not keep him to ourselves!

When you are ready to discover Tanzania (Great Migration- safari), let me know. I will let you know about our “2nd son”, Jeff.

We also have a good recommendation for Uganda (trekking for gorillas in mountain).

    Thank you for the update.

  4. Guide & Driver in Santiago

    Hello all,

I always love to write about great experiences we have during our travelings.

I looked and looked on social media to find a good driver and guide in Santiago but could find only one and he was busy. However, he recommended Cristian Herrera.

We were a group of 5 (people who found each other on CruiseCritic) and decided to visit ‘Parque Las Arenas  + Termas Banos Colina’ on a 10-hour tour.

Cristian was super relaxed and patient as one of us was waiting at the wrong location.

During the whole day, he was energetic, informative (very good English), EXCELLENT driver and REALLY cared for us to obtain the best experience (conscientious). We ALL really loved our day with Cristian. We saw the Andes and soaked in thermal water.

We all now consider Cristian as our friend. Please, do not hesitate to hire this young man who has been in the tourism business for many years.

  5. - Sent PDF and they were accepted.

    - dDd not redact my account number but which I would have afterward. I called my bank and they said nobody could get $$ out with info on bank statements.

-There is no reason why they accepted my bank statements and not my hubby same bank statements!!! I reloaded the same bank statements and like miracle, they accepted them. Go figure!

-Bank statements in CAD and no problem.

Anyway, now I have to wait until until I can download the next statement.

So my question is whether anyone with Holland has used the letter that was sent to the passengers on the World Cruise?  It is generic and could apply to anyone on a Holland cruise.

Debating whether I should try to use it, rather than wait another week for an actual statement.

    Thoughts?

On Dec 6, we sent Nov 1-30 statement, Oct AND Sept statement just in case. They could see our pattern of always having more than $2,000 in the bank.
My suggestion, do the same + add HAL generic letter.

Time is of the essence. Do not delay if you don’t want to stress too much…

    Good luck!

So happy for you, we are still waiting and we fly out tomorrow.  Hope the Oosterdam has good WiFi.

I just printed 5 copies of each visa at our hotel in Santiago as we just arrived a few hours ago. I will not have internet on the ship…

What documentation did you provide to show a round trip reservation to/from Brazil (see red text below)? I ask because, like you, I was planning to make a day trip from Argentina to the Brazil side of Iguazu falls. That trip across the border would be on a taxi or bus.

Source: [Official] Brazil Evisa | Tourist eVisa (vfsevisa.com) Click on "Information" tab.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR eVisa( Tourism/Business) Stays Up to 90 Days
    • Confirmation of round trip reservation (flight, ship, or bus reservation showing entrance by air, sea or land into Brazil and exit from Brazil).

I added our flights on Jan 29 from BA to IGR. Then at the end, you can add as many documents as you want. I added our flight from IGR to Salta, Argentina. Also, I added our Seabourn cruise itinerary with embarkation on Feb 20 from Buenos Aires to Miami.
We are approved so they understood we will spend 1 day in Brazil at the end of Jan and we will have many stops in Brazil while cruising with Seabourn in Feb and March…

  9. More hope!

This was posted on HAL World Cruise departing Jan 4.

I guess we just need to work on our patience! We still have not received an email containing our evisa but at least we are “approved” as of Dec 29.

    Congrats!!!  When is your cruise?

    Complicated:

Leaving on Jan 1 from Canada to Santiago, Chile

Jan 7-29: HAL Santiago to Buenos Aires

Jan 29: Flight to Iguazu Falls (Argentina)

Jan 30 or 31: visit Brazil side of the falls

Feb 1: Flight to Salta, Argentina. Then, Bariloche and El Calafete

Feb 12: Flight to Buenos Aires

Feb 20: Board Seabourn cruise 33-night ending in Miami. This cruise will discover mostly Brazil…

March 24: Flight to Canada from MIA.

Well, I just checked the website and we are both ‘Approved’.
🥂🎉🎊. Seriously, we gave each other high fives and did a happy dance. It took 23 days to obtain an approval status for our e-visas. We should receive an email in a day or two with our e-visa attached. More than 3 weeks to receive an e-visa! I am sure they can do better!!

I sent them, Passport, photo, bank statement, and Princess itinarary. with the princess stuff circled to getting into Brazil.  What else can I do???

Follow the same topic  that started a long time ago…

yes I have.  I was able to upload mine.  But not my husbands.

I would shut off my computer entirely. Then reenter the application from scratch. If that does not work, your photo is tge problem. Is it ending with JPEG or whatever else they are recommending. When I airdrop a photo to my Mac, it does not end with JPEG so I had to re-save it as jpeg… I hope this is your problem…

Is there anyone out there that can help me figure out why I can't upload my husband's passport pic.  Nothing is uploaded but it shows the doc page complete???   I am hesitant to pay without his pic attached to the doc page.   I have tried everything.   File size is fine.  Can someone private message me through this forum to help?

    Did you read: https://www.theinsidecabin.com/

    Sorry nothing else to add…

  15. Keep the faith, it will happen. We applied on Dec 6 and have not received our e-visas yet. However, Brazil is now reviewing them as hubby and I are “Under review”. It is just bureaucracy as when asked to resubmit some of the documents, I reloaded the same documents and it went through ‘Quality Control’. I guess, employees need to justify their positions!

    Keep the faith!

    -Applied on Dec 6.

-Resubmitted (photo for myself) and (photo, bank statement and flight for hubby) on Dec 6 or 7. As our bank statement was the same and they had accepted mine, I reloaded the same bank statement for hubby and same photo as it was under 1 MB. I entered again our cruise document under flight document.
-Dec 15 Received ‘Quality Control Approved’ email and ‘Recommend by VFS’ status on their website for hubby

-Dec 16 Received ‘Quality Control Approved’ email and ‘Recommend by VFS’ status on their website for myself.

    Nothing since.

They are working on my patience!

Follow up from my post from yesterday (Dec 22)

Dec 23: I just checked our status and they both have changed to ‘Under Check’. I really did a happy dance 🤣. As explained on the graph posted a few days ago, we did not receive an email to let us know our status had changed.

The next step is “Approved”. Hopefully we obtain this status before Christmas as it would be our Christmas gift! 🎁

    It is making our day!

Good luck to everyone waiting patiently for their e-visa 🎅🏼.

  18. We have not received our e-visas. We applied on Dec 6!
This is what we received from Seabourn on Dec 19 (see photo).

I read this article as well. We want e-visas so we will provide what is requested… It is what it is. Our passports have to be renewed when we come back from this cruise so at least…

Bank statements, for sure they don’t need that info but what can we do?
