  1. Hi Steven

That was the original intent of the post ,we took our cruise ,it was not really us ,but if you "never go you never know" Will we go again unlikely unless we find someting really interesting and a ship with less than a 1000 people on board but thats travel you try new things and places and if it does not workout there are lots of other choices

  2. Hi All

We spend sometime in Dubai for work and are considering a 7 day cruise around the Arabian Gulf as an add on break.

Couple with an older teenage son we are looking for some feedback on the MSC vs Costa we tend to book higher end travel products so I suspect we will book to balconies with an all inclusive drinks / room service deal .

We are non smokers but not anti smoking fanatics but do hunt down non smoking areas as a rule .We speak no Italian other than basic pleasantries but we do not get fazed by this and love italian food and wine.

  3. Hi

We recently did our first cruise and for a number of reasons it just did not "click" with us we really coud not get into the concept of getting of and on a ship with 3600 + people and having a daily lives dictated by the ships timetable and amenities.

Will we cruise again unlikely unless it is an itinery where we want to go and it has very few sea days.

I do not try to talk people out of cruising or run it down it just was not our style of travel and as they say "if you never go you never know"

  4. Hi my wife and I with older teenage son did Royal Princess in the Med for 12 days in a penthouse suite overall the ship and crew where pleasant and the shore days where fantastic.

I would however not do a cruise again on Princess it did not represent value for money as far as "something special" goes the ship was very sedate ( boring) both during the daytime and evenings everyone seemed to be in bed by 09.30

  5. Spot on this "sitting at the bar" objection seems to be an uniquely US thing on our recent Royal Princess cruise I was having a drink at the bar near the crown grill and my 15 year old son came to ask me a question about our next port stop ,I got him to situp and ordered him a coke .The next thing I know we are getting ticked of by the bar manager and asked to move along ( their loss I never came back)

All bars on cruise ships that I have seen are in our near a lounge so civil behaviour is required what difference does it make if you are at a bar or 4 feet away at a table trust me everyone is privay to your conversation

  6. Hi All

Whats the difference between a S2 and a S3 suite on the Lirica other than location.

Can anyone recomend a suite for Arabian Gulf Cruise and if we are a party of three should we book two suites ?

    Kind Regards

    Tony
