  1. We were on the Radiance in the summer of 2022.

Hint: If you're going into town, leave early and come back early. The line for the tender into Catalina was over an hour. Luckily, we had a suite and got priority for everything. Some people couldn't even get into town since they started so late and the lines was so long.

Same with Ensenada, leaving the ship was easy, but the line to get back on the ship stretched all the wall down the dock.

Then you have not gotten a payout of over $1,200 on any one bet. These are paid by hand and you get a tax form at that time. It has happened to us many times

Oh, it's 1 bet. Heck, I usually play $100 hands, but never $1200 hands...

Seems like not reporting a $10K win might open up a bigger can of worms.  Is it even possible to not report a $10K win?  From what I read on these forums, big winners are on the hook because the casino reports big wins to the IRS.

    I meant over a weekend in Vegas or a 7 day cruise. I don't think I've ever won $10k in a single day...🤣

I've brought a few grand worth of chips to the cage before and I've never been asked for my ID or anything for reporting.

It depends on how much your annual W-2G's total. Ours total over $100,000/yr, so it behooves us to try to reduce the tax liabilities.

Wow, ur a baller. We take 3-4 cruises a year and about 6-9 trips to Vegas. We don't even come close to $100k. Heck, I'd be surprised if we were +/- $3k for a year...lol...🤣

Slightly off topic but I always book all of our cruises. When I check for cruises, my husband (who has about then less sailing days then me) always has better offers. Booked a cruise last week and his offer was $200 cheaper and offered $500 OBC while mine had $50.  Looking to book a girls cruise and checked prices under my friend's VIFP (she is new to cruising and still red) and she also had the $500 OBC. Its annoying to me to have to check everyone else's deals when booking.

We're the opposite, my wife gets better offers and I spend more in the casino 🤪

That looks like a Casino offer?

Do you spend much time in the casino?

I do, but my wife doesn't and she's the one that usually gets the best offers.

I still don't understand how the casino offers work. She spends maybe $100 or so each cruise and she gets the free rooms and nice perks. I sometimes spend thousands and I might get 1 free drink.

I doubt the PVP has the pull to have offers sent your way. Probably just their offers skew towards those that don't have any cruises booked, haven't cruised in a while, etc., to get them back onboard.

You never know though. Carnival's offer roulette is a strange mistress.

That makes sense. First time in almost 20 years we do not have a Carnival cruise planned.

  8. i guess you just have to do the math. I bought 100 shares at around $9 a share 3 years ago. That's $900 and in that time, I've taken more than 9 cruises. So, I've already made my money back, plus I still have my original 100 shares. So, if carnival goes bk tomorrow, it wouldn't matter to me.

Anything else great other than the lobster roll?  I'm definitely gonna try that.

After all these years of cruising, I always forget Seafood Shack while onboard.  We were just talking about it at dinner the other day, wondering if it's worth it.

We usually get the clam strips and calamari in addition to the clam chowder.

It's pretty good and not that expensive compared to other dining options.
