Hello - recently I booked a new cruise with HAL, and chose to include their Platinum protection plan in the booking. A few days later, I changed my booking to move from an Oceanview to a Balcony cabin, and decided I no longer wanted the protection plan (thought I might get my own insurance outside HAL). When I asked to drop that coverage, I was told that it was non-cancellable after 24 hours. I didn't pay for the plan when I first booked, just the cruise deposit . I'm a little confused here - why would something I haven't paid for be non-cancellable? And are they saying if I cancelled the entire cruise I'd somehow still have to pay for the insurance? Very strange to us, but looking for opinions from HAL gurus out there.
