  1. My pleasure :)

Yes, the drive back to ship is the same amount of time.

I thought we would have to wait a long time to go back to ship, but the shuttle was right there at the beach, so we did not have to wait at all (there were 5 of us in bus going back).

Once that shuttle departed, the drive communicated he was leaving, so the next one was on the way. It seemed like a well run unit and everyone we met (lady selling tickets / drivers) were friendly and helpful.

The sign at dock says one can buy tickets at the tourist info office - not so! Just go to Zone 6 and the lady there with sign for shuttle has the tickets.

(The shuttles were put into place by the "West End Development" - company responsible for developing tourism at the Dockyard)

  2. We also did the shuttle for $16.00 per person round trip, just as "Nolesrule" did.

There were three of us: my husband, son and myself - upon returning to the ship we knew that was $48.00 well spent.

There is no set schedule for the shuttle - it leaves Royal Navy Dockyard once the shuttle is full. There are numerous shuttles, and many people, so while we had just missed one, we had to wait only 15 minutes for the next one to fill up. This was in the morning around 9 a.m. on the second day (5-night to Bermuda).

When leaving beach, as was posted above, the shuttle bus picks you up right at entrance to beach, so no walking back up the high hill.

There were towels for us to use to put on seats as our suits were still wet.

The drivers are great and the scenery is beautiful as well.

I would highly recommend this as a stress free way to get to and from Horseshoe Bay.

    Enjoy!

  3. When booking our last cruise, I saw that this stateroom was available and searched all I could about it. In order to help others in the future looking at this stateroom, I thought I would write a little review.

Just yesterday we completed a B2B on Liberty of the Seas: July 11th - July 25th. For the 5-night we were in an inside cabin, and then switched to this for the 9-night. So glad it was in this order! I could not get enough of this wonderful balcony!

The stateroom itself was roomier than the inside (it seemed wider), but not by much. There is 1 Pullman bed in this stateroom and my son loved it. He had also slept in one in the inside cabin.

Cons: There is vibration at the back of the ship, but after the first night I did not hear it anymore. Also when arriving / leaving port there is vibration, but one is not trying to sleep then. :-)

Pros: After that first night had some of the best sleep ever in this stateroom.

The balcony! Wow! It was simply beautiful. We had two chairs, a little table and two loungers with still plenty of room to stand. It says obstructed view in description, but that is because of the white pole of structure at the back, and the door. That white pole was really nothing - the view one has is wonderful. The entire aft of the ship AND to the port side of the ship. A very panoramic view.

Also to mention is the door. This is an actual door and NOT a sliding door as with other balcony staterooms. This actually worked out very well for us. Plenty of light during the day, and at night let in very little of the ship's lights that are on at night, so we had just the right amount of darkness for sleeping.

There was some soot, but nothing major at all - it washed away in the rain.

Would I book this stateroom again - absolutely! I miss my naps on that lounger on the balcony...

  4. Just off Liberty yesterday, and if memory serves me correctly, it was:

    Thursday: Mojo

    Friday: Saffron (formal night 1)

    Saturday: ?

    Sunday: ?

    Monday: ?

    Tuesday: Pimento

Wednesday: Mushroom with "Sh.." (computer program will not let me spell out the last 2 letters after "sh"!)

    Thursday: Jasmine (formal night 2)

    Friday: Pomodoro

There were some menus not listed in that link, but do not know names. Went by what I remembered ordering. :)

    Just to note:

    - Shrimp Cocktail was available only on 1st Formal Night

    - Fisherman's Platter is only 1 lobster tail - no shrimp as stated on menu

    - No Surf and Turf available on regular menu (it is listed on one of these menus, but it was replaced)

    Hope this helps!

  5. On RCL We tipped extra:

Our stateroom attendant $20.00 (he was very nice and funny)

    Waiter $10.00

Assistant Waiter $20.00 (he did much more work than the actual waiter)

    Head Waiter $10.00

Not any big amounts, but simply an extra little bonus

On NCL in the Haven we tipped our butler $100.00 (It seemed she could read our minds of what we wanted - it was uncanny. Plus the daily bowl of M&Ms for our son was the best for him)

  6. Picture 1: This is my son’s back...everyone gets safety lecture. Feet are in the “kiddie pool” for practicing before going into big water.

Picture 2: Fish in the “kiddie pool”. I bought an underwater camera back in 2013 - best purchase ever made.

Picture 3: Looking down at people doing Snuba

Rest of pictures in last file (description under photo)

Hope this helps and Happy Cruising!!!

  7. I did this excursion just this past Monday. :) I personally enjoyed it very much, and as a matter of fact it was our second time doing this excursion. I am in process of uploading photos to computer (just off Liberty today), so I hope to have some for you soon!

My son (now 10), said this was his favorite part of the cruise back in 2013, and it was again this time as well.

    Some quick facts:

    1. Water taxi takes you to floating platform. The boat is for the Tiki Hut and the Snuba. Boat makes trip every hour, so free to return to ship as you wish.

    2. There is shade, but not much. A few umbrellas, and one structure on last platform.

    3. Masks, snorkels and fins are all supplied for your use. There is a little "kiddie pool" should you wish to practice your snorkeling skills before jumping in the big water. They also have noodles and "floatie" belts should you wish some extra flotation help.

    4. Cash bar and food - no food included in price of excursion.

    5. All of your items are held in a basket for you, and if you need something from basket, just tell them your number and they get basket for you.

    6. Many pretty fish to see as well as the sunken helicopter and boat.

    7. You are VERY close to the Snuba experience, and the area can get crowded with snorkelers.

    8. I could hear the moans of some people as we approached the platform, as it was not what they expected. It truly is made from 3 floating platforms connected together and it is by no means anything fancy. It is a very low key atmosphere.

  8. We just got off Liberty this morning, and I can also confirm - Yes. We had a six pack of water brought on in carry-on with no problems. When that ran out, we had drink package, so from then on picked up a bottle of water every time we went to a bar.

Funny thing I saw last night - with all the luggage in hallway were two 32-bottle cases that passengers never opened! Had to carry it all back on shore with them.

Also, I had read that the tap water on board makes some people "swell up", and I could not believe it, but lo and behold, my feet swelled up like crazy and I switched to bottled water - had no problems after that.

  9. Greetings! We did the character breakfast 2 years ago on the Allure. At that time there were 3 breakfasts offered, and each day had a different set of characters.
    For example: Day 1 - Kung Fu Panda / Day 2 - Shreck / Day 3 - Madagascar
Our son was 8 at the time and enjoyed it very much. We had our camera ready as the characters come to your table for photos.
Not sure if offered during normal MDR breakfast, but for the character breakfast there were always special chocolate items available.

We will also be on Liberty - in 2 days! :) - and we were very close to doing the breakfast again, but decided not to. There is now a $10.00 cover charge per person, whereas 2 years ago it was free, and our son will be 11 next month and said it was "ok" for us to not go.

So if the age of your child/children is on the "younger" side, I think it is most certainly a fun thing to do. Just remember that not all characters show up on same day (unless that is something that has also changed).
  10. Has anyone ever bought one on board? I am looking for a lanyard with a waterproof pouch to hold SeaPasses, cash and such while snorkeling or at beach so I do not have to leave anything on beach/tour boat.

They are available around here, but since we already sail on Saturday, time is of essence and might be easier to buy onboard if they are available.

    Thanks!

  11. Good Evening!

We will be registering our son for the kid's club on the first leg of our upcoming B2B. Just as we will have to get off ship and get new seapasses, will we have to re-register him and get a new colored wristband as well? We will have the same stateroom for both cruises.

No problem if this is the case, but it would be one less thing to do after getting back on ship - more pool time! :-)

Thank you for any information you may have!
