We will be in port with Celebrity in May, same size ship as Reflection. If we also dock at the "outside end" of the port area, will we be able to walk easily to the METRO? Is it a mile or much more? We are okay with walking, but we don't want to wear ourselves out just getting to the METRO.

Anapli, we will be in Athens for the first time and have planned to DIY with lots of research and Rick Steves' guides. Would you advise this, or would it be better to reserve one of the recommended taxi tours on Trip Advisor? Cruisemom, what do you think?

On March 10th when I purchased our tickets, the price for us was E20 plus the fee, so for two it totaled E42. If it is now E25 before fees, then it has just gone up. :confused:

This is good news! Altho I do see that Monday is the 10th, so we will have to check for the booking option on Monday and Tuesday.

I had emailed the Union Boatman directly, but have never received a reply. The online price from Santorini Planet is the same as in my notes for the Boatmen, so we plan to book this latest option online.

Still no reply from my email to the Boatmen. Good idea to also email NST! Maybe that will work better. I will definitely come back here if I hear anything as well.

Is this the same boat that has been offered by the "Union Boatmen of Santorini"? Or was this an excursion thru Santorini Planet? Or is it the same thing? I don't want to post this on our May 5, 2014 board until we can confirm this. Several of us were planning our entire day around the Union Boatmen and the NST travel bus as mentioned on Tomsportguides.com.

for Santorini and sounds like a perfect fit for us, but I hope travelers keep posting their experiences here for the next few months as we won't be there until May. It's great to see that most people have had good experiences.

I was grateful when I checked to see how many ships are in port and learned we are the only one! But now I wonder if that will work against us in the speedboat filling up? I will probably include a link to this discussion in our cruise thread to spark a bit more interest.

It is very hard to tell the difference between Celebrity's River Tubing Tours in Dominica. We are looking at RO13 Wacky Rollers River Tubing, RO15 River Tubing + Emerald Pool or RO53 River Tubing, Rainforest Drive and Hibiscus Falls. Only RO15 mentions Layou River. All the descriptions say 1 1/2 hrs of tubing, but other posts I see here say most people have 45 mins. And then I see recommendations for Antours as well.

Please post if you took one of these tours. I'm trying to find out if they are located on different rivers? Also did you visit the Emerald Pool before or after the Tubing? We are fine with a hike but hiking while wet doesn't appeal to us. We are 35-65 and comfortable in the water.

Just found this huge thread, and forgive me if this question is buried somewhere in the 3000+ posts, but we would appreciate some good, moderately-priced restaurant suggestions within walking distance of the Pan Pacific hotel. Let's say under a mile. We will be there on Thursday night, Sept. 8.
