Can't wait to read the rest - we are leaving for Honolulu next week and will be boarding the POA on 4/23. So glad to have a recent review available before we leave!

Hi - based on my research online we are going to try Coco Cove pre-cruise which is about a 10 minute walk from our hotel (Holiday Inn Beachcomber). Address is 2284 Kalakaua Avenue. Many of the reviews indicate they have a fairly extensive wine selection (better than ABC). They also get rave reviews for their poke plates

I should clarify that I meant the cabins - not the public areas. Anything you can share regarding the upgrades/improvements to the cabins would be appreciated.

Are the rooms all refurbished (new carpet, furniture etc?)

Is there any advantage to hopping in a taxi rather than waiting for a shuttle? (besides the cost) I would imagine there are hundreds of people heading for the rental agencies off of POA and the lines are likely quite long if you are not fortunate enough to be one of the first to arrive.

We are renting a car to hit the RTH and drive all the way to Oheo Gulch so we can hike the falls. We want to get on the road as soon as possible.
