  1. There is no Nexus line in any of the cruise ports in the US. For that matter, as of this past winter, there wasn't a separate line for Canadian Nexus holders at security at any of the Florida airports for departures. We are used to the separate lines in security for Nexus holders in Canada but TFSA pre-clearance wasn't available to the Nexus holders.Hopefully, that will change soon.

  2. Yikes. Isn't that what the internet is for and the freebie daily newsletter?

Anything really newsworthy is covered by the channels they provide. Every port has Wifi so you can always use that rather than pay on the ship.

Geez, aren't cruises supposed to be for getting away from it all.

  3. There were no repeats at dinner. On the 2 nights when the ship stayed late,Aruba and Curacao,we ate at the buffet and took our meal outside. It was a nice change from the main dining room. One night we did a specialty restaurant and one night,we ate at the crepe restaurant. Frankly,we needed a break from our table mates so this helped to break it up.

And really, unless you have specific dietary requests,to me half the fun is arriving at the dining room and looking at the menu either earlier in the day or when we arrive for dinner. JMO

  4. I always find the inside temps in the public areas to be on the chilly side.

That being said, why not just wear a nice pair of dress black pants and a fancy top for the formal nights. I wear the same thing for every formal night.Truthfully,I don't think people even notice. Not to mention, you need different shoes if you wear a dress. It's an Alaska cruise so the way I see it, smart casual makes more sense. JMO

  5. As others have said, you are cutting too close, time wise. The traffic in Orlando can be horrendous. There is always construction on the I-4 and you can easily end up in a traffic jam.

Not to mention that April is a busy time at the parks.Lots of spring break people.Frankly,I would save the money you were going to spend and put it towards a separate trip to Orlando where you can plan the park outings at your own speed.

  6. We did NCL Pride of America in 2014. Having been on 3 previous Celebrity cruises,I can honestly say that the POA was not worth the money. The food was always cold and not all that good. The freestyle dining is a good concept but in the end,you end up waiting to get in.The ship seemed understaffed. Apparently,it's a real problem keeping staff since the majority are US citizens and they tend to just walk off the ship in Hawaii, never to be seen again.

The cruise is over-priced for what it is.Bear in mind that all the food supplies come from Hawaii which is more expensive anyways. At least this wasn't our first cruise experience.

You would be better off island-hopping on your own. JMO

  7. It doesn't start until 1pm and it's chaotic. You'd be better off staying staying at your hotel and arriving later in the day at the ship. It's not at all like the ports in Florida where they are used to dealing with large numbers.

The ship sails away at 7pm from the pier.

As for the disembarkation, you can walk off yourself sharp at 7am have your luggage tagged for whatever time suits you up til 9am. It was really backed up at 8am but we had chosen the 9am walk off.We enjoyed at leisurely breakfast in the dining and walked right off the ship at 9am and picked up our luggage in the luggage pick up area.

  8. It's on the second formal night.Really,I can't understand all the stressing over this.Just take a blazer and you could wear this over a nice black t shirt and wear sandals. No one will stop you.As for the lobster and dripping butter, all I can say is if you are used to eating fresh lobster from Nova Scotia or Maine then perhaps you might want to pass on the lobster tail.Last year the tails were about as big as your finger. This year, they are bigger but it's still just a tail.
