I was never expecting a lounger on my aft S1suite, but I was expecting the same type of furniture depicted in all of the renderings of them that have not changed since they were first revealed. What is actually on the verandahs “are a bit of bait and switch”. You are correct, the Sky Suites on the S-Class ships do not have loungers, but they have regular outdoor furniture including a table that can actually be used to have a meal served on.

I concur, that it was a  total bait and switch. I expected the balcony chairs and table there were advertised and even seen in the mock up video from the Florida reveal. In my opinion X got cheap at the last minute with regards to the balcony furniture on the SS. I am disappointed and will defiantly let X know with my post cruise comments.

I agree about the furniture in the artist renderings. Even the X mock-ups that the Press and TA's were shown at the Edge reveal had that specific verandah furniture. It seems that only the CS's and other higher suites ended up with them.

I know that things are subject to change, but LLP said during the 3D Reveal that everything was shown exactly as it would appear on the ship when completed.

We will have to find her on 12/9, and asked what happened.....maybe they have tray tables for breakfast in bed? I am going to ask because there is no way my 6’2 DH will be bending over to eat breakfast at that little balcony table. His back may give out...and that won’t make for a fun cruise... 😉

  4. Sure wish the balcony furniture in the renderings above were actually in the cabins. For what We paid for our SS, I am not very happy about the way VT had to eat breakfast this morning. ( photo on her live review). However clearly Celebrity wants to limit the amount of people dinning in their rooms.

I was told by X on the phone that they do, indeed, have enough room saved in each specialty for those with the dining packages.  I am not sure how they can do that, but I guess they can (or at least think they can) and do.  I will be interested in reports from others who have the Packages.

Thank you. I was getting very concerned, as I have a 4 night package for 12/9. Eden appears to be sold out and only very late times are available online. We are very flexible with date and time, but don’t want to eat at 10 pm every night. Have more times he available I might have canceled my package but it’s to late for that.

  6. VT, How has the service been so far? Some are saying that the service in their suites is underwhelming. I am hoping that is not the case, especially since we all paid so much money but I guess i will find out for myself very soon. Also, have you heard of anyone having issues with dinner reservations? We have a package for our 7 day, and I am hopeful we won't have any issues however, I am prepared to be flexible with date and time. Thank you!

  7. VT posted a few hours ago on her Live review, that the front spa veranda is only for those at the spa so AQ., those with Thermal Suite passes. The door is in the Thermal suites and she did ask specifically if anyone could use it. 😕 I put the link below. That really is to bad. We did purchase a Thermal suit pass, but the price was very high. $399 plus 18% gratuity for a  7 day couples pass. The 2 and 3 day didn't make sense price wise because there was no couples pass. I agree with another poster who noted that this would not be a good ship in Alaska unless you are in a suite.

here is a pic of the back of TV.  I will fix it up before I put it in the review. There is a way to use Apple AirPlay on the TV also; but I didn’t have the time to play with it.

Thank you very much. I have one question. Did the remote allow you to change the input? In the past, we have been unable to change input on the TV to access the HDMI port or the USB ports. I thought X had advertise that we could, but I just want to make sure before we lug a Playstation all the way to Florida.  🙂

  9.  Marilyn, I have a very special request. On Saturday when you board, could you please take a photo of the TV hookups in your S1? It was my understanding we were going to be able to hook up phones and what not to the TV. My DH desperately wants to take his playstation on with him. (I know you all are reading this and things WTH, but thats what he likes to do to relax at night, after I go to bed) I am going to try and call X but if I had a photo of the TV plugs, could easily determine if that will work or not. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE! REST AND FEEL BETTER for your next Edge cruise on Saturday.

If you watch that Affluent Journeys Edge tour video I shared in the Edge blocks thread he walks through the whole Retreat Lounge and there is no bar there. There is a bar up on the sundeck. I assume that when sitting in the lounge there will at least be cocktail service even though there is no bar to sit at.

Thank you! I need to watch that video you posted but my DH wants me to wait and be surprised, since we board on 12/6 for 10 days. Just seems weird not to have a bar inside especially since  the retreat lounge but not pool deck is suppose to be open to zenith. However, as long as they have servers who can bring drinks available all the time, it shouldn’t be an issue. We shall see in just 9 days!!! Can not wait.

Thanks for sharing this screen shot. I think this is a S3 and not an aft S1. The S3s have two glass panels together including the slider, and then a glass panel by itself. In this picture you can see that panel to the left by the sofa.  The S1 aft, S1s and S2s have all three glass panels together. See photo of aft S1s below.

The  blogger just confirmed on YouTub it’s a S3 on deck 11. One of the center cabins. She believed it was 11168. She noted she wil gave more videos of the suites up in the next two days.
