I have another question for you ☺️

We have booked a private tour while there, 6 hours from 2-8pm.  This is what was suggested, but they said they will do whatever we choose.  Does this look good to you?   Other suggestions?  Thanks again for your help.

    • Sightseeing: Enjoy the beautiful sights whilst we drive towards the west side of the island.
    • Flamingo Watching: Get the chance to see wild flamingos at the salt lakes of Sint Willibrordus.
    • Shete Boka National Park: This national park is a must-visit when you decide to spend some time in Curaçao. Once you venture into this beauty of the island, you will discover many inlets which are home to 3 species of turtle nests. In Shete Boka, there are a variety of coves to explore where you can admire large and unpredictable waves crashing against an underground cave!
    • Playa Kenepa Grandi: Enjoy one of the most popular beaches of Curaçao for some fantastic picture opportunities! Swim into the crystal blue water, dare to go cliff jumping, relax and go snorkeling!

Yes, Shete Boka is great and Kenepa Grandi is one of my favorite beaches.

We will be in port till 11pm on a Thursday.   Looking for something to do in the evening, perhaps a sunset cruise?  Is anything open around the ship in the evening?

I live in Curaçao.  Thursday nights there is Punda Vibes, street vendors, stores stay open late, music and Fireworks at 8:15 right in Punda (across the Queen Emma Floating Bridge).

Thank you! I will tell DH and the family I am going with. Can you pay with a credit card? Or do we need cash. And is driving on the left or right? I live in the USA so we drive on the right.

Driving is the same as in the USA.  Contact Advance Car Rental.  He is wonderful

There are several outdoor cafés in town.

Or, if you turn and head to the waterfront, you can dine overlooking the water. (We did this on one of our previous trips, but were there too early today.

Next to the restaurants of the Waterfront Arches, there is also a public restroom.

Just an FYI, this public restroom hasn't been open in several years. It's a frequent question we get as to where is a public restroom in Punda. The only one (currently) is at the ferry station.

Our boarding time was 11:30 am. Arrived at Port Canaveral at 11. PC is a little different from some other terminals. Here (at Terminal 1), you drive into the parking garage first floor to drop your luggage. Then, they will direct you to parking. For us, it was the open lot next door to the garage. You pay for parking at the time of arrival.

Loving your live report! Do you know how many passengers onboard?

We’re coming memorial week on the Allure. It’s just me and the hubby and we’re renting a car. We’ve been there several times and I was planning on going early to Cas Abou beach. But I was reading that now they block a huge section off for formal shore excursions. Plus the carnival horizon will be there too! We’re thinking of going to Porto Marie instead. It says they don’t open until 930. Anyone know if that’s correct? We’ve been there and I can’t remember if it’s gated or what. Or any other beach we should check out?  Thanks!!!

Blue Bay is nice, full service and closer to the port area. Arrange with your taxi driver a time to pick you up

  8. I live here in Curaçao. What I can tell you is the beach is big, plenty of room there. Snorkeling is very good, bring water shoes as some entry areas are a bit rocky.

Friends have stayed there and said the food was good.

Ok we like to walk but that might be a little much.  Maybe we’d walk there & taxi back?

I would not suggest walking there from the port.

If you are literally just looking to go swimming,  there is a local beach called Marichi right in Punda, it's a small beach with no facilities currently

@bup1224Are there any tours with some history of the island? We aren’t really looking for any beach tours. Thanks.

We will be cruising on the Rotterdam 3/20/22 sailing, and our itinerary and hours got changed for Aruba and Curacao.  We were booked on the Curacao Beach Express, but now will be getting into Curacao at 2 p.m.  So we canceled that excursion through Holland. So now, we will just taxi to a local beach for an hour and a half or so.  What beaches are closest to the port, and approximately what is the taxi fare to each?

Mambo Beach is a good option for you
