  1. I've just printed our Epass for our cruise on March 31st, but the Seabourn website is not allowing me to print out our final documents. Do we really need to print these, or is the Epass sufficient to allow us to board please?

  2. Is it possible to walk off with our cases? Are there taxis available within walking distance of the pier please? Also we thought of booking a taxi to the airport for approximately 2pm as the hotel we are going to is in Bridgetown. I had thought that this would give us plenty of time as our flight doesn't leave until 17.10. Perhaps I should book this for an earlier time.

  3. Thank you both for the day room suggestions. We've found somewhere that looks quite charming with a gorgeous pool, an old plantation house I believe. Very reasonable rates for the day room and they replied to my query immediately. Room booked!!

After our experience with this travel agent, I wouldn't trust them to book me something on the correct island!! :'):')

  4. We've just discovered that our useless TA has not booked us in with Seabourn Air as we requested and we're now going to be deposited on the quayside in Barbados with our flight not leaving until 17.10.

Does anyone know of anything we could do on that day, preferable with a shower available before we travel to the airport please? Also what time do we have to be off the ship in Barbados?

I'd be very grateful for any ideas.

  5. A trip to and lunch at the beachside bar at Nibet Plantation resort is a good way to spend a short trip. Nisbet is the family home of a Fanny Nisbet, the wife of Lord Nelson who married her whilst stationed on the islands - she is buried in the UK.

The view from the Great House to the sea is one of the most atmospheric in the historic Caribbean.

Is it possible to purchase a day pass for this resort or can you just turn up at the beach bar and use the beach please?

  6. We're on Seabourn Odyssey 31st March cruise and our itinerary shows that we're docked at Basseterre, Guadeloupe on 2nd April. Does anyone know if the Odyssey docks at Deshaies, Basseterre, or is our itinerary wrong and we're actually docking at Point a Pitre on Grand Terre?

I'd be grateful for any information.

We're hoping to visit Plage de la Perle so hoping that we're in Basseterre.

  7. Yes Lincslady, cariad does indeed mean dear/dearest in welsh. Thank you so much for posting details of your interim travel arrangements, this would be perfect for us and just what we would have done under our own steam. Thanks to Seabourn, it looks as if we won't need to worry about occupying ourselves for the hours before airport transfer. I must say, I'm impressed with Seabourn so far.

  8. cariad - if you have booked Seabourn's flights and transfers, you should be taken to a hotel and provided with lunch (flights after 3 but before 6). And your luggage stored there. For flights after 6 you would get a day room - we prefer to have the lunch! In Europe the standard is pretty high; we have had some unexpectedly good lunches, but don't know about Barbados. You will then get a transfer to the airport at the appropriate time for checkin.

Thank you lincslady. We've definitely booked flights with Seabourn and I can see transfer on our booking so hope that we'll be included in the hotel with lunch. That would suit us well.

  9. I'm a first time sailor with Seabourn and I'm also wondering what we are going to do on our debarkation day at Barbados. Flight to the UK with BA doesn't leave until 17.10 hours and don't know what we can do with our luggage if we find something to occupy ourselves with for the day. I'd be grateful for any advice.

  10. I would most definitely recommend afternoon tea at the Etihad Towers Observation Deck in Abu Dhabi. Wonderful experience, breathtaking views and superb food. Much more enjoyable and relaxed than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai which was very much like a cattle market with people jostling for places at the windows. We did a Dhow cruise in Muscat which was very interesting with amazing scenery.
