While it is very evident that you were diligently documenting your time on the POA (which we honestly appreciate), I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy a little holiday, too!   2. Hello! We are sailing on the Breakaway on 01 SEP 2024 out of NYC. One of the parties in our group was unable to book the Haven when they reserved (due to inventory). So they went with a balcony stateroom and subsequently submitted the upgrade bids. Late yesterday afternoon, we saw a Haven room available on the ncl-direct booking site. Rather than take a chance on the upgrade algorithm and process, we called our TA to help us with the switch. The process took about an 90 minutes, but we were able to guarantee the haven room with a final price that was lower in price than our originally submitted bids. Our biggest concern was to get the last party in our group into the Haven. Calling the TA directly (who had to liaise with NCL) was the most direct route for us. Watching for cancellations and perseverance seemed to pay off. Hopefully, this will help others wondering about the process. Best of luck, and I hope you have a wonderful cruise!
  3. Hello! I sailed on the Joy last September from NYC to Quebec City. If the procedure hasn’t changed, you might expect what I describe below. The ship will provide Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) the passenger and crew manifest prior to your arrival to the first Canadian port (Sydney). Also, the ship’s crew will provide you a CBSA form E311 Declaration Card for you to fill out and return to them before you arrive to Sydney. If passengers or crew require additional immigration inspection or processing prior to disembarking, it will likely happen in Sydney. Once in Québec City, we should be able to disembark without having to go through additional processing I hope you have a fantastic cruise!
  4. Hello. In my experience on NCL cruises, the Free At Sea / Free At Sea Plus drink packages cover you for the entire time you are a passenger (arrival through departure while on the ship). Some municipalities require that you be charged tax on the value of the drink while in port - if Galveston has this policy, then you’d be charged the tax on the listed price for the drink, but not be charged for the drink itself. Fellow NCL cruisers - if you’ve had a difference experience with your drink package coverage, please correct me. I hope this helps!
  5. My partner is a veteran and we sailed on the Joy in September of 2023. Prior to booking with our travel agent, we registered through the NCL military page and confirmed veteran status through ID.me before we booked. We informed our travel agent to apply the 10% discount, which required some back-and-forth between Travel Agent and NCL. It all worked out. On the Guest Confirmation Copy (sent to us from NCL), the promo code “MAP10OFF” was listed at the top right of the first page. Further down in the document (under “Add-ons”), there was a “1 x Military Appreciation” also listed. Perhaps one (or both) of these is what triggered the Military Welcome Packet that was in our stateroom upon arrival and also the invitation to the Military Appreciation event. I hope this helps!
  6. Hello Everyone! Fiancé and I will be traveling on the NCL Breakaway from the 1st through the 8th September, round-trip from New York, and are looking forward to meeting many new friends! We've had many fantastic experiences on our past few sailings and hope that this one will be great, too. We usually meet fun and interesting folks at the first LGBTQ+ event on the first night of sailing and wonder if anyone else might be traveling (or considering travel) on this trip. Cheers!
