I was glad to see it, but my friend in the regular line got through faster than we did in the GE line, as the GE line didn't move for over 10 minutes and when it did start moving they were alternating with the line next to us.  It looked like maybe the computer went down in that line.

Must have just been timing - we were off and through in 30 seconds.

  2. On our cruise, I believe the rooms were available slightly after 1 (announcement made while we were having lunch) - available options depend on your cabin type.

Concierge - lunch in main dining room

    Suites - Luminae

Others - Buffet - there was ample seating available) or Sushi on 5 (cost)

Apparently, Zenith members (need many many sailing days to achieve) - can also go to the Concierge lunch

I know that Concierge Class has a embarkation lunch in the main dining room and Suites have Lunch in Luminea.   What options are there for Aqua Class.   As a Zenith are you able to dine in the Main Dining room with Concierge Class?  Just curious as this will be our first experiment in not traveling in a Suite.

I have a feeling we are going to be traveling more Aqua now that we get almost all the perks.

Limited lunch options - if I recall correctly it is Ocean View Buffet or Sushi on 5

  4. Not trying to steal thread but another comment I had is that another thing I was surprised about was the amount of live music - we had bemoaned what seemed to be the cut back amount of live music on the S class ships and the increasing reliance on DJs- we were very pleased at the amount of musical acts and their performing frequency.

I recall the solo guitarist -who was very talented; the singer/guitarist duet, string duet, piano player/singer, the full 5 or 6 piece band and the 3-4 person band.  Simultaneous acts playing in  - Bacio, Cellar Masters, Ocean View/Sunset (not sure of its name) Bar, Rendez-Vous and Constellation or pool deck - was very surprising and they generally did a good job.

  5. Will let Philomath confirm but I believe the answer is no - although there is immediate access to the deck through a door right next to the bar (which may lock and prevent re-entry - at least that happened when we were there on the first day)

  6. Having a passport is optimal.  As noted above, birth certificates are acceptable for this itinerary but they are very picky with the birth certificates and it often creates a problem.  Just off the Infinity and I was talking with a coupe from Ohio that were travelling with birth certificates and were almost not allowed to board because of an issue with the wife's certificate.  They had to call the state office and were lucky that they got someone who helped so quickly.  It was a close call and they thought they were not going to be allowed on the ship

If you were in Aqua Class, how did you get to dine in Luminae and partake in Michaels?  I thought that was for Suites only, and Michaels for Suites & Zenith.  Are you Zenith?

We are not Zenith, just elite.  As per my earlier post, we were travelling with friends in the Penthouse suite.  We only were in Michaels with them during embarkation - the doors to Michaels are partially transparent so my comment regarding it seeming empty was mostly from walking by and looking in.  As to Luminae, we dined with our friends last night and I believe were charged (sometime they charge and sometimes not in our experience where we had someone join us when we were in suites.

Blu was our designated and primary dining room.

  8. Turns out we were not in an AFT cabin but on 11 on the Port side which is a small wing of AQ rooms.  The location was fantastic - easy access, almost private stairway, quiet - no noise issues from above or below.  Great views of the Edge in Ft Lauderdale and Nassau.

Ship is in generally good shape although showing its age.  Seals of shower door in bathroom were poor (ours did not flood too badly but my in-laws next door had problems).  No odor issues.

Dined in Blu, Luminae, LPC in QSine, Buffet and main dining room for one sea day lunch  - generally food was excellent and service good to great.  Service in Blu was good albeit slow.  Service in Luminae was excellent

  9. Was also on this trip and I agree with the comments.  Yes the ship is showing its age, yes the carpeting is dated and the ceilings low but we had a great time, even though the trip was short it felt like a real cruise and the crew was excellent for the most part.

Haven't been on an M class ship for many years but we had a great time

  10. We leave today.  Supposed to be taking friends for one of their 50th birthdays but they just opened a restaurant and had to cancel so we are taking my in-laws instead for their 50th anniversary.  As the itinerary takes us home to Key West, we will be seeing the friends who were supposed come with us anyway tomorrow.

Also we have friends in one of the Penthouse Suites so looking forward to some cocktails etc. in their suite.
