We're also curious about tours offered and considering the water taxi.
Here's some info on water taxi prices:
-
I think the Magic is a great ship for kids, lots of fun stuff to do. Water slides, splash area, ropes course, mini golf, etc. when we were last on the Magic an autism group sailed with us, sorry I don't remember their official name, but maybe you can do a search and find reviews from them. It was April 2015.

Just go talk to the maitre d when you board, we've been able to switch when needed. I'm sure you'll be accommodated.

Thank you for such a detailed response, I sure appreciate it!

Thanks for the review! We are considering this tour, we will have our 4 year old with us, was it a good tour for a young child? We also will bring her car seat, what kind of vehicle was it, seatbelts available?
I don't see mention of lunch on his webpage, was it something your group requested or is it included in the price?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Ps. How was the snorkeling/swimming at bananarama?

The car seat thing is no big deal. We bought a cheap lightweight seat (Cosco Scenera, $39 at Walmart) we've taken it on 2 cruises so far, no problems at all.
-
We talked it up in advance. We talked about the activities and how it works. We went with no expectations because she didn't want anything to do with it when she was 2, but did great at 3.5.
We looked at the schedule and took her to the things she wanted to go to, then we'd go check on her. Sometimes she was having so much fun she sent us away.I think for our daughter the main thing was letting her decide. It's also nice for them to have a place where they can play and be loud! Good luck.

Playa Mia is perfect for a 3 yr old. We took our car seat and took a taxi there, saved a ton of money going on our own.
-
I would think that would only be a concern during the school holidays, but I bet it's rare.

Thanks for the picture, I'm glad to have something to show them. I appreciate your review and feedback! :)
Belize is a tough place to find an affordable excursion for a big group.
-
Thanks for the input so far. Blueskiestx, do you have any thoughts on the difficulty of getting in and out of the boat onto the docks?
-
I think it depends on the child, my lo didn't want anything to do with the stroller after 2. On our last cruise, she was 3 and it went great with no stroller.
-
Absolutely agree on the waterworks, our lo loved the Magic!

It's not difficult to find seat belts on the islands. We've taken a car seat on 2 cruises, one taxi didn't have the belts, so we caught the next one. No biggie, the drivers aren't thrilled to see it, but that's not my problem.
We travel with the cosco Scenera, 40 pound limit and 43" it was $39 at Walmart and is really light & easy to install.

Hi, thanks for your reply! It was actually that thread that got me looking for more information.
Did people have trouble getting on and off at the dock or was the trouble getting in and out of the water to snorkel? I assumed snorkeling was out, but I'm hoping going to the island together will be possible. :)

Hello, we are considering a trip to this island, it looks like the boats are a little smaller speed boats. Our party will have several that have had knee surgeries/replacements. I was hoping that some of you can share your experience getting on and off these boats and if it was difficult.
If you know of a vendor that uses a bigger boat that's easier to disembark, that'd be great too.
Thanks in advance, I've searched like crazy for this info, even emailing the company for information and haven't found anything or received a reply.

Starfish island may be a decent option.

My lo just turned 4, but we tell her right away. I enjoy the looking forward to it part and we like talking about it and planning it. I tend to think the anticipation is part of the fun! :)

We are considering exotic Eco tours and would love to hear more feedback. I'm especially interested in hearing how getting on and off the boats was, both our parents have had knee surgeries. Thanks for any info you can provide!
-
I'm not sure I understand how that would save, typically the 3rd and 4th passengers are discounted. If there's two per room, I think you'd pay full fare for everyone.
I'll be interested to read the other feedback. I know RC sometimes does, bogo 50%, is that what you are thinking?

Hello Sooner Cruisers
First off thank you for the great info/pics.
I had a quick ques. From reading your posts and the link you posted I see the kids only diner is on the Lido deck from 6:00-6:45. My question is will the staff then bring the kids back to Camp Ocean or do the parents have to pick them up there and then drop them off for the 7PM start of camp activities?
We have the early dining sitting for dinner and if we have to go pick them up, it won't work too well for one of us to have to leave the dining room so we probably wouldn't use the option much.
Thanks again for the great info. We sail the week before you in January.
My lo only went to the dinner once, but I'm almost 100% sure that they take them back to the kids club and you pick them up when you're ready. Have a great time!

Jan 17 for us too! :D
What a coincidence! Have you planned your port activities?
-
Puddle jumpers are great because they don't float up around their neck, but it's not really an option.
I'd bring the life jacket, they're a little annoying when they float up, so make sure it's soft around the neck area (nothing scratchy.) Definitely, better safe than sorry!

We had an ocean view room on the magic and there was not a mini fridge.
Interior cabin with a crib?

The first cruise we took our lo on, was on the Triumph in an inside room. It was tiny! She had just turned 2, we used the pad from the mini crib and made a pallet on the ground with her blanket from home.
The bed is large, some people co-sleep to save the space.
