I went for my annual physical today and the doctor asked if I had any swelling of my ankles. I said no but I did say I have had swelling while on a cruise. She said it was likely a result of the humidity.
Shak
My feet swelled whilst on a cruise through the Norway Ffjords in May, very little humidity, although had same problem last October whilst in Orlando and then cruising around the Caribbean.
Am thinking it's the ships water, so at mealtimes will try having bottled water on next transatlantic cruise to the Caribbean in couple of weeks time.

Hi Ann,
So glad you are still monitoring this thread for how to organise a Slot Pull.
Have volunteered to be an organiser on our Transatlantic Cruise this November, we have 52 shown interest so far.
Would you be able to send me a copy of your spreadsheet?
It sounds a fabulous idea.
My email is catz240@virginmedia.com
Thanks in anticipation,
Caroline
(By the way my middle name is Ann).

I have only ever seen it once, on Freedom in 2007, they had an invite only afternoon tea for all the brits onboard. it's a shame they don't do it more often.
We were on Freedom of the Seas October 2012 and were invited to Afternoon Tea. Sadly we had to forgo the invitation as had prior booking for something else. It was specifically aimed at the British who were sailing with them.

I am sailing on the Independence of the Seas for a 14 day transatlantic from Southampton to Ft Lauderdale on November 1, 2014. Anybody else on this sailing? Would keep in touch with other people on this sailing, :-)

Living in the UK we have always purchased travel insurance whether holidaying in Europe or like last year our first cruise in the Caribbean. It just gives us peace of mind. Have only claimed once when our hotel room was burgled.

Hi, we did the Eastern Caribbean in October last year, and have the compass from then. Which days were you interested in?
-
Sorry no. Was a bit of a nuisance carrying it around. Think next time I will take a plastic drink container to decant it into.

PHEW!!!! Just got to end of page 62, will read on later, but can't thank you so much for starting this thread and posting pictures of your outfits.
Have so many ideas to take on board before my next cruise which will be a Transatlantic to Fort Lauderdale from the UK in November 2014, with a post-cruise stay in Orlando of four days before flying back to the UK.My last cruise was in October on Freedom of the Seas on the Eastern Caribbean route. Of course some of the clothes I chose for that cruise didn't quite work out as planned.
This next cruise will need careful planning I can foresee.

Dan, we were on this same cruise with you and we too had a terrible steak at Chops. Ordered medium and got, well, well done. Tough and could not eat. The waiter never asked how anything was. Seemed like a robot. She took order and was gone never to be seen again. Terrible experience.
We were on the same cruise too. We dined in Chops on the Friday evening at 6:30 pm. I also had the petit fillet mignon cooked medium rare and found it very moist and succulent. My husband and son both had the 16 oz filet mignon and were very satisfied with their steaks. However, I was disappointed at the range of appetizers and desserts, we much preferred those in the Main Dining room. Think overall the restaurant was much over-rated, although we got free OBC to use a speciality restaurant.

Tomorrow going on the Freedom of the Seas. Had hectic pre-cruise days here in Orlando. So need the cruise to relax and chill out.

17 days, counting down.
Sailing on FOS to Eastern Caribbean. First time to the USA and the Caribbean.
Taxi fare to Maho
in St. Martin/St. Maarten

We paid 9$ per person each way. There are plenty of taxis back to the port, just give yourselves plenty of time to get back.
