  1. I did this excursion last August and really enjoyed it. We spent some time at Creek Street, the Totem Pole Museum, a beautiful creek area where the salmon were spawning and a few other places outside of town.

Our tour group was small so he had lots of time with each of us to give us great photo tips.

  2. I was on the Summit Nov 19-24 and other then there being a lot more kids on the cruise vs my 2 other Summit cruises and my Eclipse sailing in August, it wasn’t cuckoo crazy.

It was great to see more guests at night at the live band karaoke.

In Blu, there were a few guests that may have made some different cruise attire choices then I would have. One night a guest came in wearing a baseball cap and the restaurant manager came over and asked him if he would like him to store his hat.

I think rowdy behaviour/larger crowds are always going to be more of an issue dependent on the time of year, whether it’s a cruise, an all inclusive resort, Disney World or a hotel.  Thanksgiving week, Christmas Break, Spring Break don’t always reflect the overall vibe of a ship the other 48 weeks of the year.

  5. I called this morning as the price of my flights dropped and requested an adjustment. The agent said he rebooked the flights (same cruise confirmation #) but when I log in I no longer see any flights linked to my cruise. I am assuming there is a delay in the info being uploaded to my account as the Air Canada confirmation number likely changed.

We have to connect all our flights through Toronto.  Works well for us and have never had an issue.  Yes, crowded..... to be expected.  But system and process works if we leave enough time between flights and we're patient...especially at the Nexus machines.  Haven't travelled in a while (understandably) but is it true they have a new process for nexus users which is quicker and less dependent on finger print recognition?  My finger tips NEVER fit on the pattern, and I hold up the line far longer than some would like...LOL.

I went thru Pearson terminal 3 Nexus arrivals on Nov 18. New machines that automatically adjust height and scan eyes.. no fingerprint. Entered Nexus Card in reader slot.. done in under 30 seconds.  Customs already had my Arrivecan App info and put green sticker on my passport. I didn’t have to show Arrivecan receipt.

Like everyone ever, I hate flying from Pearson but I guess it has its perks!

I wonder with the new rules if the timeframes for testing will adapt. We have a Covid test clinic just opened last week here in Niagara (SrxHealth - walking distance to our place!) that  started as a just Monday-Friday.  I just checked, and starting this Sunday the 5th, they are now booking (and walk-ins) for 7 days a week.

If it’s just an antigen rapid test you need you can book online for any of the Walmarts in Niagara for $20.

I had booked my test weeks ago and made it only the day before flying.   Just glad they didn’t come up with another hoop to jump through.   It’s been a very rough week for me.   My best friend and companion, the little guy with me in my picture, crossed the rainbow bridge unexpectly last Thursday evening.   I am not even sure I want to go anymore.   I miss him so much.   I’m forcing myself to go.

I am so sorry for your loss! Take things one day at a time
I would suggest going on the cruise. Let others take care of you for the week.

So in the bathrooms of Concierge class do they provide shower gel/shampoo/conditioner in the shower which are different from regular cabins?  Or same products?

Concierge & Aquaclass on the Summit have CO Bigelow products-I believe regular class is no name

Thanks, but no thanks!  I do NOT wish to book 'Celebrity Air'!  I'm in Canada and (always) choose to book with Air Canada; with whom I've flown MANY times, with ABSOLUTELY) no 'issues' of any kind!  Celebrity Air to/from Canada would (likely be with 'Air Transat')!  No Thanks!

As Terry mentioned above, YOU pick the airline carrier to use with Celebrity Air. I saved over $300 booking my Air Canada Nov flight to Miami and am saving $250 on my April 2022 flight. There are no fees (unlike the $60 the travel agent dinged you on a cruise booking).

  11. I love the Blu but the food and service in the main dining room is just as good.  The pros for me are smaller dining room and depending on the ship I can order from either menu.  The newer ships offer more amenities in the Thermal suite (heated loungers for example are not available on the Summit, Constellation or Millinium).

The one other thing to consider is some cabins aren’t necessarily located in the best places on the ship.  Ie directly under pool deck, buffet or large overhang on balcony.

  12. I was in 1110 last week and it was fantastic. Wind was not a problem at all. .Loved how close it was to stairs that led to buffet and elevator. I would recommend avoiding 1100-1106 due to how close it is to heavy exit door.
I liked the cabin so much I rebooked if for April 2022

You are correct prices are in CDN $, but when I went to Air Canada site it & put in locater # it changed over the little flag at the top to US & charged us US $ for the seats.  Which was ok as the flight was so reasonable.

I had the same issue as well and then I realized  Air Canada was defaulting to "US English" site .   You may want to check and see if the top of the Air Canada Page (1 o'clock location) is defaulting to Canada or US.  If you see the US flag, you can click and change it to Canada. Pricing should reflect CAD once changed.

  14. I think there is some speculating on this string of posts that’s causing unnecessary worry or change of plans. I am certain the intentions are good but consider this:

Has Celebrity demonstrated lack of care or not stepping up to their Healthy At Sea protocols since they returned to operation in June?
Would a business that has worked hard at promoting their brand burn themselves by having passengers miss their flights or change them so cruisers now have a 5 hour layover at the WaWa airport?

Would Celebrity risk bad press from not taking care of guests who received positive covid test results at the airport?
With the increasing # of international travellers sailing was Celebrity proactive in planning how to get tests completed for departing passengers?

Did they do a poor job communicating the change to customers who are booked?

I sail on the Summit Saturday. The app says testing will be done for passengers who require it for their next destination and details will be provided on board.

    That’s good enough for me.

  15. I am not certain where the original poster lives but as someone who lives in Niagara here is a tip that was helpful before the borders closed.

There is a NEXUS enrollment center on the Canadian side of the border in Fort Erie. This is the one CSBA lists on website.

There is also a NEXUS center on US side of the border at the Whirlpool bridge in Niagara Falls. It’s a 5 minute drive from the Rainbow bridge. If you have to make an appointment for an interview, Whirlpool will be an option in the portal. Before Covid, there seemed to be less of a wait to get an appointment. ( plus they were open weekends)

  16. I recently renewed mine as it was set to expire in April 2022. Based on the info provided I am not expecting to have the application processed any time soon.
This info is on the Homeland Security portal once I log in

Due to a significant increase in application volume, we are extending the grace period from 18 months to 24 months for any submitted renewal application. This means you will continue to receive full benefits for 24 months while U.S. Customs and Border Protection is finalizing your renewal application.
You become eligible to renew your membership 1 year prior to program expiration. If you submit a renewal application before your membership expires, you will be able to continue to use benefits up to 24 months after your membership expiration date. Follow these steps to renew your Trusted Traveler membership:

  17. You should be fine based on the current Healthy at Sea FAQ's

    COVID-19 Booster Shots

Guests who have received 3 or more doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, due to booster regimens, will be considered fully vaccinated if at least one of these conditions is satisfied:

    • At least 2 of the doses are mRNA vaccines administered at least 28 days apart. The final dose must be completed at least 14 days before sailing.
    • At least 2 of the doses are AstraZeneca administered at least 28 days apart. The final dose must be completed at least 14 days before sailing.
    • At least 1 dose is Johnson & Johnson, completed at least 14 days before sailing.

It has taken about 10 days for the Classic Package to be reflected in the Cruise Planner for all four of my Celebrity sailings so far. Not sure what the delay is about. But, for example, I booked a cruise last Monday and the Classic Package with the option to pay to upgrade to Premium just finally showed up in the Cruise Planner for me this morning.

I am waiting for my cruise planner to update as well so I can purchase the drink package upgrade. Does anyone know for the 5% classic Captains Club discount  if we have to call in for the discount or is it automatically applied to an online order?
