  1. Hello all- We just returned today from parking in Miami @ 1415 NE 2nd Ave. Everything went perfectly. The shutles both ways were fast. The ramp was OK, but we had to park in the sun for $8 each day total. We booked direct with the owner because we had problems with Global last year, they overbooked and left us hanging. Book direct with the owner.

  2. Does anyone know the price of taking a taxi there?

The tourists pay $10 each way from Havensight. We are a family of four, so instead of paying $80 round trip to Saphire, we walk out to the road and flag a safari for $2 and $1 for kids. It drops you on the road and you walk down the drive through the condos to Saphire Beach. Going back, the Safari travels in the same direction, it makes a loop through Red Hook, and will drop you right in front of Yacht Haven.

  3. We are using luxuryairportparkinghttps://www.luxuryairportparking.com/

they are even less expensive than park n go. Decided it was worth a try.

We wish you luck. Our experience with Luxury was the worst ever. They overbooked and people were waiting two hours to get their cars out, that after waiting over an hour for the shuttle from the port. They could not find our keys, so we used a spare set and found our own car a couple blocks away. We had good luck with them for the airport, quick and easy, but for the port, no way ever again. Park N Go is highly recommended but not as cheap, but they have many vans running and little wait time. We prefer the garage parking at the Renaissance Hotel just at the North entrance for $8/day total tax included for covered parking with free van service, but actually it is close enough to walk to Princess, but not Carnival, Allure and the others at the south end. Email premiercruisepark@bellsouth.net or call 800-435-3195.

  4. We have sailed MSC Poesia three times, needless to say we love MSC, kids sail free(reduced). The foreign languages are fun, not a put off. We have also sailed NCL Sky, and Carnival Glory. MSC food is just as good as the others, and the MSC wine packages are a great value. We eat in the MDR as often as possible, every night, many breakfasts and some lunches. The service was always good. Mostly Indonesian staff, but never a problem with English. The ships decor is very classy, not brash like Carnival, very refined. The kids club is only fair. The shows range from opera to acrobatics. NCL and Carnival shows were more geared to Americans. We are sailing again on Carnival(Freedom) and NCL(Sun) and MSC Divina. We chose to sail Divina just for the ship, as the itinerary is a repeat for us. I would definitely recommend MSC as well as NCL and Carnival.

  5. There is a $4 lot at 150 NE 7th st, just outside the port. It's not fancy, but if you have a rental car don't worry. Cost us $31 total for the week, plus $3 RT for the shuttle. Drop off your family at the ship and go back to park. If you need a garage, call 800-435-3195 and book direct with the owner for about $8/day, free shuttle, about a mile from the ships.

Don't like to repeat myself, but above are your best options.

  6. Just booked a cruise in October, and was researching the parking options. (We have decided it is significantly less expensive to rent a vehicle, drive 20 hours to Miami, leave it in the lot for a week and drive back ... than fly four people to Miami round trip. If it were just two people I would probably think otherwise.)

So, in skimming this thread, it looks like Premier Cruise Parking (NOT Premier Parking Venture) is preferable at around $8-9/day.

However, I noticed that airport parking is about half that at Embassy Suites Airport Parking. I can see that some people are saying that this option would require a taxi back from the port. However, I thought Carnival shuttled people back to the airport, and Embassy could shuttles people from the airport to their hotel and parking. So why would I need a taxi? What piece of information am I missing (or incorrectly fabricating)?

    Thanks.

  7. These are the garage owners. They have garages in other Florida ports. We just booked them at Port Everglades, I think they said Tampa and Port Canaveral as well. They don't have a direct website (yet), but will answer the phone and email you back. Their flat daily rates of $8-8.50 include taxes and no additional fees paid to middlemen like Global. I discovdered these owners when Global botched my reservation, by overbooking. The owners reservation system lets you pay when you arrive. Please let us know how the vans are doing if you choose to use them.

  8. How out of place would I be if I don't bring a jacket for formal night? and just do dress shirt tie and of course pants.

People dress up more on MSC, especially on formal night, you will be out of place without a jacket and tie. Tux not necessary, only a few will be seen. Even on non-formal nights, a jacket without tie would be recommended.
