  1. Sandy, that is the case on RCCL. On the last evening we went to guest relations and got the remainder of our obc. We don't gamble, are diamond C&A members so pre dinner cockails are free in the consierge lounge. We spend plenty, but as I said before we cancelled an excursion and dinner so we had $200 left on our Seapass account.

On RCCL, they will also automatically refund excess OBC back to the credit card that you registered.

  2. I have not zip lined, other friends have. they take the weight seriously, and, in fact will lower the maximum weight allowed dependent on wind and other atmospheric conditions. I do know those that are near the maximum allowed weight may have a pretty rough end to the ride. At the end you hit some sliding brake mechanisms that work to slow you down, heavier folks still have too much momentum for the brakes to stop them completely and they then are stopped by long coil spring mechanisms on the cable. You can get jerked to a stop rather roughly. Never heard of anyone being hurt, but the laws of physics always apply.

  3. Im still confused (no surprise) by the H2O zone and main pools. Are they in the same area? deck?

Yes they are in the same general area. The H2O zone is behind the main pool area (between main pools and the Rear elevator centrum) They are separated from each other by a wall where the waterfall flows down into the H2O Zone pools.

  4. We are flying on Delta from Albany for only $238 a person, including taxes.

Renting a car from Dollar. Input the code "KISS" and it brings the price down to $19 ($29 with taxes) a day!

I have also read that the Dollar code is "KISSE". I know that one definitely works. Maybe both spellings work.

  5. With the new itinerary, will passengers have to go through customs before disembarking in San Juan (since they've been to a foreign port prior)?

I believe we will. That has been the practice for all previous cruises that involved a foreign port call before a US call. I think that is why they had always called at San Juan as the first port of call. before going to foreign ports. I don't know why they changed the order of the ports for a few weeks this fall, but it will affect our cruise on Liberty the 25th of Sept.

  6. Just back from Liberty 2-16. She is one beautiful ship and so much to do. The plug in the bathroom was above the mirror, not a regular plug and it said it was from shavers only. I didn't try to plug in my curling iron or blow dryer. I brought a 3 plug adapter for the vanity area. There are 2 plugs on one side of the vanity and 1 on the other side.

On some of the ships (not sure about Freedom or Liberty) the electrical plug in the bathrooms is labeled for shavers only. On the Voyager, when I plugged my shaver in for an overnight charge it did not charge, unless the bathroom lights were on. The plug was wired through the light switch.

  7. Okay, I need to get my parking booked for our cruise this weekend. Anyone have strong feeling for/against EZ Cruise or Lighthouse?

Also, I had heard you could go to the casino to get a cash advance on your credit card without having to pay any fees, is this true? Or maybe it was that you could get cash and it ended up on your sign and sail...I can't remember. I'm heading to the bank to get money for the trip and didn't know whether to get a bunch or play it safe knowing I could get more on the ship. (Without fees) :)

We used Port of Galveston parking last week for our Voyager cruise. They were $65.00 if you pre-book and pay in advance on line. They were easy to get to, picked me up right at my car, and when our cruise was over, they were parked right outside the exit door from the terminal. Less than ten minutes on each end of the cruise.

Port of Galvestons states that they are the only cruise parking that has regular patrols by the Galveston City Police since they are run by the city.

Although the other lots for Lighthouse and EZPark are also fenced and locked, so I would think any of them would be OK.

  8. I never took any of my radios, though I want to sometime. Technically, you need permission from the Captain or Chief Radio Officer before using any radio transmitting equipment on the ship.

Practically, no one asks permission. I know you won't get it from the head office in Miami, (Tried that) but you could ask at the radio room.

  9. We were on the Voyager with the first Hogs on the High Seas group. We found out that there were about 1500 bikers on that cruise when we first arrived at the pier. While waiting to pass through security. Two of the biker ladies arrived with their husbands. They both had on shorts and shirts, but what made them unusual were both had a squirrel tail attached to the rear of their shorts. It was interesting to talk to some of the couples, and hear the husbands/boy friends complain about how they were being forced to go on a dumb cruise by their wives/girlfriends.

About two days into the cruise, these same guys were on the elevator with us and were going on and on about how great their vacation was and how cruising was the only way to go.

This was a pretty fun group, and we had a good time talking to many of them. There was a lot of entertainment provided by the bikers when they were coming back from Carlos and Charlies just before the ship sailed one evening. There was apparently a woman, about two decks down and several cabins away from us that was flashing people on the pier when they returned to the ship. People on the pier were hooting and hollering, and taking pictures. Never did find out who she was (darn it)

  10. when getting off the Voyager last November, my wife picked up our passports off the piano (We had done the pier upgrade to the RS, it was great!). Anyway when we got to the Immigration desk, my passport was missing!!!!

I ran in a panic back to the ship, explained to the security personnel at the gangway what had happened and they let me back on the ship. Went back to our room, and there was my dark blue passport, laying on the dark wood piano.

Needless, to say, I take care of my passport from now on.
