  1. I'm on board the Pride now and there has been no word on any compensation for the terrible port changes. I don't expect there to be any offered, but it sure would be nice. Canaveral and Nassau come no where close to HMC and Grand Turk.

  2. Are you under the assumption that YTD is in the Lido dining room? If not, why would you even mention the desserts on the Lido. YTD is in the second dining room that some ships have or in a specific portion of the dining room if there is only one dining room on the ship.

If you are really eating your dinner on the Lido deck, and they did not assign you a MDR table, then there may not be a table available for you when you go back. If you are on YTD in a dining room other than the Lido, then you probably could go back later but would have to take the tables available or wait for a table.

No, I am very clear on the difference between the YTD in the MDR and the Lido buffet. I mentioned the Lido, because I was expecting someone to come back and say "why don't you get dessert later from the buffet?" I like the MDR dessert offerings much better that the assortment on the buffet.

  3. I am trying to remember what I added to the bill at the end of the day, we were all feeling VERY good, by the time we headed back. I seem to recall I added 20% or so the cost.

We had 16 people total, everyone agreed that even though it was the 1st stop on the trip we could have gone right back to Miami & it still would have been the best time we have ever had!

    Enjoy!

why would there be a bill at the end of the day? It is already paid for as an excursion and food and drinks are included.

  4. We will be in the Oasis in 2 weeks (can I say how excited I am????!!) I understand that the bartender is around all day, the chef for a little while, and I don't know who else? There will be 8 adults and 4 children. How much would you recommend for tips? Do you hang it all over at once and let them split, or tip each individually?

  5. I've used the laundry on the Pride. $3 to wash and $3 to dry. Maybe I got unlucky and got a crappy dryer, because my clothes were still wet after it ran, and the dryer was not over stuffed. I was too lazy to go get more quarters, so I would up with laundry lying all over the cabin and balcony to dry.

  6. great post! I was wondering the same thing, especially since I might be doing Cheers for the first time. The chocolate one looks great, but is probably too filling to drink all day long. I don't like tropical flavors like papaya, mango, pineapple and coconut. Suggestions? Strawberry, banana, blueberry, etc is good.

  7. I thought we got back a day earlier than we really did. Which became an issue because I had a rental car and a few nights at Disney booked for after the cruise. I was able to reschedule the car and cancel the first night at Disney, but we missed the special event that we were invited to participate in, which was in front of Cinderella's Castle. It was a vow renewal that Disney was doing on Valentine's Day, which just so happened to be my 10th anniversary. I was so bummed :(

  8. I'm booked to sail in 5 weeks, and was looking at another cruise for Aug 2015. I could book it now, but I'm going to wait until I'm onboard to get the OBC. But, a lot could happen between now and then....I could decide to change my mind and try another cruise line. It would be so nice if Carnival gave you the OBC for booking an additional trip, as long as you are already booked.

title should be "wouldn't it make more sense..."

  9. If you are drinking booze, it may be possible. I think I remember my bill with tip being $40-$45. I had chicken quesadilla and my son had chicken fingers and fries. We drink water.

  10. I did this in April with my son. We went to the resort next to it (Sheratin?). and they share facilities. We spent the whole time at Melia. It was a great day, and I was even able to use their wifi for an unexpected skype session with my husband at home. We ate at the outdoor restaurant, which was decent food for slightly overpriced, but they did not charge me an entry fee for my son, so it was ok.

  11.

When mentioning that the higher general category booking would bring in more revenue, the answer is, "Sorry, that still doesn't matter".

I was able to upgrade my guaranteed inside to a guaranteed balcony. They said they would do it since I was a past guest.
