Interesting that you got October 21st as your check-in date.  We are also booked on November 6th and my profile says I can't do check-in until October 23rd.

Did you see that the itinerary changed and the stops are reversed?  I haven't received an email from Carnival about it yet, but it's definitely showing up online.  And they've pulled all of the shore excursions for now.  I expected the change because of the propulsion issue, but figured they would send an email and get the shore excursions rescheduled before making the change online.  It's frustrating.

It is my understanding that Platinum and above can check in two days before Gold and below. That could easily explain the difference in check-in dates.

Canada may close their ports to cruise ships until July.  So I started to wonder how the cruise lines will handle the Passenger Vessel Services Act (PVSA) where a passenger ship must include a foreign port.  That is, how they will keep from violating this law ?  I'm a West coast guy, so Alaska cruises come to mind.

Given the pandemic, would the US allow an exception ?

I would think so. They do make exceptions.

"Waivers from the PVSA can be requested in case of national-defense interest."

Our TA, along with lots of others, was unable to get through to Carnival the last few days to cancel our May sailing and book a new sail date at the end of June.  Now, according to what was posted on Carnival's website we lose out on the $100 OBC because we did not book by 3/10!  Our new reservation was booked yesterday. This is on top of losing the money paid for insurance through Carnival and paying almost $500 more per person for the same number of days, same ports, but a different ship!  It seems unfair that due to their inability to handle the volume of calls, we are being penalized. We are staying with them and giving them our monies.  We did not cancel and not our fault that we could not get through to them. 😬

Because your TA has many, many to deal with, and you only have your personal issue, this would have sadly been an instance where it could have worked out better for people not having a TA. I am sure you would have been willing to wait longer on the phone, where a TA might not have that luxury due to volume of things they have to scramble to fix now. Or, you might have been able to do more on line. Sorry, that sux. But, as someone else said, give it a bit of time and it may still get worked out. If not, your TA may need to compensate you somehow. Not sure if that will happen, but it is a thought.

Yeah, that's what made me ask. Because I'm seeing nothing like that. My "VIFP Club Member Only" offers are 3 and 4 day insides for around $169, and the lead low price are all for fall sailing dates. I was expecting to see some really cheap prices for the next couple of months, but nothing.

So I googled Pack N' Go, and all that page gives me is a blank calendar.

Possibly try a different browser? Who knows!

I'm confused if this means ANYONE with diabetes regardless of age(under 70)... or age of 70 with diabetes...we are supposed to be cruising on 4/18 so need to make some decisions...also, we have not received any of the emails as well so only getting info through this forum...thanks so much!

I think it's anyone. Because this is a concern with Coronavirus as one of the main underlying health concerns with this virus.

    Hi

I just did a search and found that my room is $500 cheaper. Should I cancel and rebook or do I contact Carnival directly.

I’m sure there are threads for this but I can’t find them.

    Thanks in advance

    1) keep a screen shot.

    2) the rate you booked determines how this works

Do you have a PVP? If so, email them. Carnival is crazy right now, understandably.

Hi, new to this forum and new to cruising. My wife and I booked on the Carnival Dream for 3/26. We are both physicians and cannot take a chance on getting quarantined, and now my company has announced that anyone taking a cruise anywhere will be subjected to a 14 day period before they can return to work in the office or the hospital. Needless to say, we can't take this chance.

I never received a letter from Carnival concerning the new cancellation/rescheduling policy, and all attempts to call them have been unsuccessful. Today, the phone is not even working. We are very disappointed but have no choice but to reschedule. Is there any other way of contacting Carnival or one of its reps other than the 800 number? I booked the cruise myself online, so no travel agent to work with. Any advice appreciated.

No one’s talking about it. At least not out loud. It doesn’t appear to be affecting anyone’s good time.

My wife keeps seeing social media posts about all the stores being out of toilet paper. Her uncle, who’s on here with us, tried telling us that Miami is closing down all cruise ports. No they’re not, not that I see anywhere. They wouldn’t do that, the industry is too big, too important in cities like that. People need to stop spreading these rumors. I saw that Princess is suspending operations for a couple months, but they seem to be coronavirus magnets, so maybe that’s a good idea until they figure out a better game plan.

I have an opinion as to why I think the media is fear mongering, but this ain't really the place for it.

Actually Baltimore really did shut down their cruise port today. No rumor. Confirmed. But current cruise incoming ships can disembark.

And, yes, some stores in some areas are running out of TP also.

Has anyone else heard of diabetics being turned away from boarding? My Type 2 is well-controlled with diet and exercise but I don't want to travel all the way down there (TX) to be denied embarkation. Is there a form my Dr could fill out like for those 70+?

Have not heard anything about forms for any specific health issues. Yet.

When you guys say adult can you be more specific? I am traveling with me, my 18 year old daughter and 14 year old daughter. So my 18 year old is an adult but can not drink alcohol. So will I still have to purchase for her anyway?

This was my original answer in this very thread (and this means in the same cabin):

All pax over 21 must purchase.

This is a huge 41 pages of posts.  Too many to search for what has probably been addressed... So:  If we cancel our Carnival cruise, scheduled out of San Juan on March 29th,  what will Carnival do?  Refund?  Credit for future sailing?

I know it's a lot to look through this particular thread to find answers, but please choose the proper thread for your question:

Don't go by last hotel booked. It may not even be one of the three they list. The best way to tell is if they give you the number of expedia reviews and the three hotels. You can see which hotel has that number of expedia reviews. They are usually in the list of named hotels and it's as simple as scrolling through them and matching that number. I pretty much know the hotel i'm booking...100% of the time. If you need me to look at something specific let me know.

You unlocked my secret! Ha. (Also, can't use the "E" word.)

Hey Greg. Quick question if you would humor me. How often do you get the last hotel booked on Hotwire? Is there a way to know which of three offered you'll end up with?

    Thanks!

Even tho I'm not Greg, I have one tip. There is no sure fire way. But if you look on other search engines, you can find very similar descriptions and get a pretty educated guess. Once or twice I even figured out through a picture. It's kind of a fun game honestly.

    Exactly this!! It needs help.

There was a sign on the Vista for these two types of lines, but the times we had MDR dinner on that ship, neither line was long enough for it to matter.

Is anyone else having problems?  For a couple of hours now it won't load for me.  I am trying to check for future possibilities in case our March cruise is cancelled, and for possible price drops on our September cruise.

Website problems on Carnival? Always, but especially now it will be difficult.
