  1. We were on the POA in December. Showtimes were sometimes 7, sometimes 7:30 with a second show at 9 or 9:30. I am looking at the dailies. So if you ate at 8:30/8:45 you would probably be good if you went to the first show. We usually went from the first show straight to dinner. Some nights they had a themed party starting around 10 (white hot, 50's-60's, toga).

Best wishes on your upcoming marriage.

Buckeye, could you tell me what night was the Four Seasons show?

  2. When you scanned them were you saving them a jpeg? or pdf? I hope you can figure it out cause I'd love to see them too. The size is tiny like 200x200

In the meantime, are all second shows at 9:00? Trying to plan dinner time.

Thank you so much! Please try and scan one again and see if saving if differently works. :)

  3. After we get off POA we will be driving to Turtle Bay and 3 days later to the airport. We have more leisure time going to Turtle Bay than going to the airport. So would we want to go up the east side going to Turtle Bay and west down the middle on our way to the airport? Thank you!

  4. Glad you found it helpful! I can't honestly tell you about the tour ops on the pier, because I was looking for the Hertz bus at the time. I will say that it seems highly likely to me that there will be some there.

Also, I noticed in several ports that taxi drivers hang around offering tours, some with signs on their cabs. I've done this in Caribbean, and I'd assume the procedure in Hawaii is the same...settle on where you'll go and what you'll see, and what the final price will be, before you get in the taxi.

Read your great ship review. We're in a different OS so I read with interest. We are renting a car in every port except Kona. Will you be posting any info on what you did that you enjoyed? Thanks

  5. I second js4rq's recommendation of ABC limo. Melvin was great; meeting us at luggage claim with lei's for the ladies and handling the baggage to the limo. He gave us suggestions for sites to see while on Oahu and talked about changes in Honolulu and the new construction along the route to Waikiki. We had soda and water provided during the ride to out hotel; lots of traffic in the late afternoon, so for us, the limo ride was worth the cost after over 12 hours in flight.

Darcy, the $25 cab fare caught my eye, but we too will be traveling over 12 hours. And since we're using miles for first class, we might as well keep the first class spirit and hire the limo. Did you use the reg imo or super? It's only $5 more I think. Thank you!

  6. Ahhh yes - I forgot that 10000 (LOVE THAT SUITE!!!) had been reclassified as an Owner's Suite. In that case, yes you will receive three bottles of wine. The issue with Liquor as an amenity has something to do with Hawaiian state regulations, but I don't know the details of those. If you'd like to see some pics of 10000, you can find them in the review linked in my signature. Have a fantastic adventure!

Puddles, I have read your review many times!! We too will be traveling in May..a year after you. We plan on doing the Chef's dinner and all the specialty restaurants. We are so excited. I know the view is going to be great from this suite.

  7. Most, yes. As someone else mentioned, you won't receive any liquor / alcohol. You can absolutely ask - via the pre-cruise concierge or of your butler when you board - to have your frig cleaned out. We did that so we could store our water there.

As Ilovesailing mentioned, this is a very port-intensive cruise. However, I differ in my thoughts on having a suite. We were extremely happy to have our private getaway on the ship & to be pampered and doted on after a long day of touring the islands. We didn't take full advantage of breakfast / lunch at Cagney's, but we appreciated the expanded room service breakfast options and the rest of the "perks" of our suite. We would absolutely book a suite again on the POA.

    Enjoy your adventure!

Puddles we are in 10000 owners suite. don't we get some bottles of wine or something in our cabin? I know there is a problem with hard liquor on this ship which I don't exactly understand since they sell it at the bars...

  8. Thanks for all the info. Somehow I didn't want to spend my last day in Hawii on a bus, seeing Pearl Harbor and getting to the airport. So I got this great idea to extended our vacation 2 nights on the North Shore after we disembark. Now we'll arrive in Waikiki on Thursday, rent a car and do Pearl Harbor on Friday and relax on Saturday before we board. The two nights post cruise at the Turtle Bay, will give us a chance to drive around to the North Shore, and relax for a couple of days before our 12 hour flight back to Florida. I feel like it all clicks! :D:D And PS..I booked the Pearl Harbor tickets online for 11 AM on Friday morning. Very easy to do, but you must be there an hour earlier to pick up your tickets.

  9. We visited in November, rented the headphones, and felt it was well worth the small fee. Jamie Lee Curtis is the narrator and she does an excellent job. The headphones are easy to use and we learned so much more about the history of Pearl Harbor than we would have without them. I wouldn't do it any other way.

Thanks...wanted to hear from someone who had rented them. I went ahead and booked the narrated tour.

  10. What if your plane left at 4:00 PM. Would you take the NCL Pearl Harbor/city tour that drops you off at 2? Or does that suck too? lol

We have 2 days before the cruise that we could do Pearl Harbor, but I thought it was an easy way to get to the airport with luggage. The thing is we are not big "group tour" people. My real question is....is that NCL excursion on disembarkation day that goes to PH/city tour a long boring day? or a good thing?? Thanks for your help!

  11. Had a good time. RCCL tries extremely hard to please... I think we will be combining 2 of our usual mass market cruises, and booking an extra SB cruise in the future though!

If it wasn't summer or school vacation, it would have been very different. Once a group of families from Boca asked us to join them on Navigator of the Seas over Christmas break. The first day in Johnny Rockets I had screaming babies, kids and Spanish screaming Moms on both sides of me. I wanted to get a gun and blow my head off.

  12. BPS:

Is this an accurate layout for OS-16002? Assuming the left side of the picture is forward and the right side (shower) is port, where the window machine is.

    Thanks

Looking at the picture the way you have it, the top is straight and to the right (on the side that eventually curves forward) is the window in the shower/bathroom. The window cleaner is in front of the window. There have been some close of pics of the ship showing the port side and and the cleaner is in front of the last window (furtherst towards the back of the ship) of the OS on deck 16 forward.
