  1. Can anybody share any recent experiences with dancing & dance clubs on the Glory?

My wife and I like to dance nightly at the clubs and also to live music.

    Any live bands?

    Filipino bands?

Enjoying a cruise in January on the Glory one way or the other....Thanks in advance.....;)

When do you sail? Hubby and I are sailing on the 9th. Can't wait!

  2. Does Carnival still allow us to decorate our cabin doors? I decorated mine 3 years ago with the gel decorations from the Dollar Store and I used blue painter's tape to put up signs I brought with me.

I don't want my decorations removed, so I want to be compliant. I couldn't find anything on the Carnival site.

    Are the cabin doors magnetic?

Can I still use gel decorations?

Can I use painter's tape or do I need to use poster putty?

If anyone can help with answers, I'd appreciate it!

  3. Nettie: The two longest, widest beaches are Magens and Sapphire. Even if there are lots of folks, you can still find an uncrowded section on either...Magens is sandy bottomed which provides beautiful blue water, but isn't as hot for snorkeling. Also, be flexible. Swells and winds can cause waves during the winter, so go for the best water for that day.

Thanks! I'm definitely leaning towards Sapphire, but how will I know what beach is the best for that day? It sounds like the drivers will suggest where their families are vendors. Who would be best to ask?

  4. PLEASE save me from reading all of those posts - LOL! Why bring Binder Clips?

No problem! You know how shower curtains in hotel rooms and on cruise ships sometimes seem to be magically "attracted" to you? They bow in towards your body when you are trying to shower? Well, Put a couple of binder clips on the bottom to weigh them down and they are supposed to stay away from sticking to your legs! Yay! (I really hate that, so I'm going to give it a try next week on my cruise).

Now that you have the answer... it really IS worth it to go back and read all 62 pages. I learned many greats hints.

Now that I answered your question... I think I'll leave a couple of my favorite hints that I read on these pages and ones I enjoyed on past cruises.

    1. I love bringing a highlighter to mark activities I really want to attend on the cruise ship's daily flyer.

    2. I just gotta try the binder clip trick! :)

    3. Definitely fly at least the day before. With flights being cut and people being delayed, I don't need the stress of flying in on the same day and risk missing the ship!

    4. Don't sweat the small stuff. There are negative people wherever you go. Don't be one and you will have a great time! The trip may not be perfect since none of us are... but take it all with a grain of salt and don't be a Debbie Downer. My glass is always half full and I adore cruising!

    5. For my first 2 cruises, I booked excursions through the ship and had a wonderful time. This time I'm trying one on my own because I feel comfortable with the time frame. (I'll let you know how it goes) I did a lot of research and feel pretty knowledgeable. Do what you feel comfortable doing and don't let us here tell you what you HAVE to do!

    Keep Calm and Cruise On!

  5. I actually read every single post on all 62 pages! I think I finally found the answer to the "Why bring binder clips?" somewhere in the 50's pages! Once I read the answer, I packed 2!

Taking my 3rd cruise 4 days from now and found some great ideas. I've never ordered room service, but I'm determined to do it this time! Keep the great tips coming and I'll try to add something new when I get back!

  6. I'm new here to the boards, and stumbled across this thread while perusing. I bought a couple of dresses for my last cruise on ebay, but this is just amazing that people would do this for each other. Kind of restores my belief in humanity, kwim? :)

I'm cruising on the 28th of this month and wish I'd found this site sooner. I'll be sure to come back often and just may have to offer up some of my dresses and look for new ones for myself as well.

Keep up the kindnesses, everyone. You are awesome!
